CHAPTER 4

DOUBTS

(Vas POV)

I wrapped my coat around Amber and propped her up on the side of the road. The strength of my chest pounding due to nervousness makes my flesh shaking, but I didn't want her to notice it. I forced myself to breathe properly and avoid the painful wounds on my elbow and hand.

Amber is gone mute and doesn't move, her knees and trembling fingers.

I take her to the side of the road.

I leaned my head on my chest.

It's fine. You're safe right now." I whispered to her as I stroked her hair. I could feel her trembling.

She suddenly startled me and pushed me. I was just shaking my head. Maybe she was afraid or shy with me.

I just want her to be safe. I'm here, ready to protect her.

I shoved my phone in my pocket, and it was good because it was still in contact. It didn't break because of jumping and rolling earlier.

I immediately dialed Toby's number. 

Damn, we almost died!

Three rings before you answer. I understand because for sure he's in karaoke again, so he never heard or noticed the sound of his phone again.

What Bro is it?" Toby's answer is on the other line.

I signed up.

"Get up, my car broke down."We had an accident."

"Wow, are you with Amber? How are you?" Toby's question was very concerning.

The sound of the speaker on the other line I could hear gradually disappeared. Maybe Toby is coming out of the bar.

"Apart from my crippled shoulder, it's okay," I answered caressing my shoulder ache.

I looked at my car that was still burning at the bottom of the river. Regrettably but more importantly Amber and I are safe.

Amber took shelter from a tree-hugging herself. She is pitiful. I feel sorry for her, for she has to undergo an accident like this.

The question is, was it an accident?

"Where are you, I'm not going to take you." I heard Toby said at the same time as the sound of his car.

I looked it up at the top of the road. Good thing there are no passing vehicles yet.

"We're on the descending side of the world between W.U. S.C.U. S.I'll be waiting for you."

Coming"

Thanks." I said before turning off the phone.

I just watched Amber leaning against a tree.

I laughed.

What can I be done just to get her out of our family, because her stay in our family will ruin and harm her and her mother? I have a strong feeling that Harry won't let him go. He sees them as his competitor too.

I looked up at the sky and noticed the white cloud that seemed to be protecting us.

"Mom. "I speak quickly."I missed you."

I walked closer to Amber station.

(Forward to it)

"Wow bro, what happened?"Toby was called as he got out of the car.

"Long explanation, come on."I still need to talk to my good brother." I said dragging Amber to ToToby'sar. "

Amber, on the other hand, looked calm and could breathe properly because she was compiled immediately. Maybe she wants to go home too and rest

"Oh, where's your baby?"TTobyaappointeddd

There!" I pointed at the price.

"Seriously," Toby whispered in disbelief as he looked at Amber.

I stared at it."Not here." I whispered to Bobby.

Toby smiled and raised both hands.

I know him, he loves innocent looks, and by Ambers look hemp she looks innocent and fragile, but I know she has a boyfriend. He may already know the activities of those in relationships.

"We have to go or do you want to call the police to investigate and settle this?" Toby asked,

"No, let's not go!"This is a family matter" I said and Amber got into the car and I got in as well.

"That Harrison sure is a big jerk."He looks perfect but, " called Toby.

"Shut up,"

"Fine."

I don't want Harry to be hated by Ambers. I still have no evidence that he was the one who sabotaged my car. I hope he is not, because he is my brother for Pete's sake.

I took off my coat

"Are you okay with it?" I asked Amber if I tucked my coat behind her.

Thank you. She looks shy and her cheeks are red.

"I'm sorry, "   I said and sat up straight, I leaned my back on the back of the car then turned my gaze to Amber who was bent over fixing her hair.

I noticed Toby didn't stare at me first in the car window, and he was smiling foolishly.

I smoked. Crazy

"Can we talk now?"

So sad.  At least you're used to such accidents. How many cars have you crushed, broken, and blown up?" Toby laughed as his car engine started.

"Just count how many times I've survived accidents like that. replied while looking out the car window.

"You look like you're used to it! I think you've beaten the cat with nine lives." Toby added.

"I won't be killed as easily as that, and can you drive fast? I need to get home, my wounds are already hurting." Maybe my Mom is protecting me all the time, that's why I always survive in any accidents.

I turned into Amber again and noticed the wound on her knee.

"I'm sorry, but I don't want to match your car with my car, so I'm just driving safely."I'm not like you who can buy anything you want." said Toby.

It's up to you." I answered and just looked out the window again.

Brother, if it is proven that you are the one who made this mess again, I will never really forgive you. I hope you have nothing to do with Mom and dad.

Harry, I'm about to be friends with you!

After thanking Bobby, I immediately entered the house with Amber. It was not okay for her to walk to enter the house because of her hurting wound but when she noticed her Mom she suddenly straightened up and covered the wound in her knee.

The pain she felt was obvious when I saw her bite her lip so hard when she stepped. Maybe she didn't want her mom to worry, or maybe she was too lazy, still traumatized to explain to her mother what happened to us along the way.

We caught Harry while having coffee with Aunt and Daddy. He was looking for fun joking with Dad.

My head immediately heated up, so I immediately approached Harry and pulled his necktie upright!

They were all surprised, especially Ambers mom.

"Hello Vaz, didn't you have an accident?" Harry asked in shock.

He knew we were going to have an accident!

"How dare you do?!" I shouted at my good brother's face.

The shock on Harry's face was obvious when he saw us, maybe he thought we were dead.

"What's wrong?"Auntie (Ambers mom) and Dad asked at the same time.

"Are you surprised because were still alive?" I whispered in Harry.

"What were you saying?" Suddenly the expression on his face broke. Oe obvious Harry!"

"Don't be here. Respect my Aunt, Dad." Harry said he stood up.

"Excuse us," Harry walked headed to the library,

The astonishingness on the faces of Amber, Aunt, and Daddy was obvious.

I followed Harry.

My chest was pounding, and I wanted to punch and kick Harry, but I didn't want to be even worse in Dad's sight, so I held back my anger.

"What's wrong?"Harry asked us if we entered the library.

I punched him but he just caught my fist!

Damn! The heat of my chest seemed like I wanted to break Harry's face especially when Amber's frightened and pale face popped up in my mind.

"

"Are you ready to kill me and Amber just for the wealth you dream of?"Holding my breath as I asked.

What? What do you mean?" My demon brother asked with a raised eyebrow.

"TSK, don't be dramatic!"Didn't you sabotage my car so that Amber and I would be injured and if we die you will have no share in the inheritance from Dad!" I sighed for pulling his collar.

"Eh, I don't know what you're saying!"

"TSS and are you really in denial?"Well, it's very obvious! You seem to know that we're going to be disorganized. I raised my eyebrows.

"You have no evidence that I did it! Besides, there is a lot of people who are angry and envy you. Why are you only teasing me when I am your elder brother!? I can't tolerate you." He pulled my hand away, grabbed me by the collar, and pushed me firmly against the library door.

I smoked.

"Hello, if I prove that you are the one who broke the brakes of my car, you will regret it, BROTHER!" I waved at his hand holding my collar.

Harry just nodded and looked at me as if I was disappointed. It's obvious that he thinks of me as a competitor since then, I'm wondering if he is my brother or what.

It's up to you! He said he turned his back on me and left the library.

Back then I wasn't really afraid of Harry and what he would do. Now that I'm with Amber, I'm scared of what Harry might do to her!

I'm not scared of myself, I'm scared for Amber and her Mom. How can I get them from here and away from Harry?

I will do everything just to make them stay away from Harry.
