Emma was very nervous about visiting her secret place, which she had shared with her friends. It was so far away from the town that Emma feared if anything bad could happen to her and Andre. She was visiting it probably after many years but she wondered how many people came across it and used it. Nevertheless, she decided to visit it for Cathy's sake. If someone as bold as Cathy was hiding in a cabin for her safety, that means the situation was very serious and she definitely needed help.
The other thing that worried her was convincing Nancy. Though she could come up with the perfect excuse, what worried her was Nancy's stubbornness. So before getting out of the school, she called Andre and told him that she would require his help if Nancy was being stubborn. It wasn't something Emma liked to do but she wanted to keep Nancy away from the cabin. Emma wasn't a rebellious teenager but with the current situation in town, she wanted to keep her sister safe. She did not know what she and Andre would face while going to their secret place but for her cousin Cathy, she was willing to undergo this dangerous task.
After school was over, Emma stopped Nancy before she got onto the bus.
"What happened?" Asked Nancy.
"I need to go now with Andre to his house. You better go back home without me."
"Why? He isn't that bad but going out soon after his girlfriend went missing isn't good."
"Nancy, don't be stupid. I had written important points for some biology topics and Andre borrowed them from me. He forgot to bring it today." said Emma, raising her eyelids.
"So ask him to bring tomorrow," said Nancy, coolly.
"We were told by our biology teacher that we might have a test tomorrow and I need that book now," said Emma as she tried her best to keep herself calm.
"Then let's go to his house together and get that book of yours."
"Nancy, I and Andre are in the same biology class."
"So?" Asked Nancy, scratching her head.
"We decided to revise together."
"You can't do that!" said Nancy, shocked.
"Nancy, I have work and study to do." pleaded Emma.
"Mother said us to come back home straight away." reminded Nancy.
"Hey Emma," said Andre as he walked towards them.
"My sister is making things difficult," said Emma.
"Look, your sister left her important notes with me and I forgot them at home. I also need her help. I suck at a few things." said Andre.
"Alright but if mother scolds me, I will tell her, that you insisted to go for your special book," said Nancy, lowering her eyebrows.
She gave Emma an angry look before she got inside the bus. Emma waved her hand at Nancy before getting inside Andre's grey Ford Focus.
"Thanks for helping me," said Emma as she sat inside the car beside Andre.
"It's alright. Now let's go and see Cathy," said Andre.
He drove his car while Emma gave him directions. As Andre continued to drive his car, he realized that they were now quite away from their town and college. Andre parked the car near an abandoned house and together they walked into the woods.
"Your secret place is here?" Asked Andre, surprised.
"When we were five, we got lost and found an old cabin here," replied Emma.
"How did you get lost?" Asked Andre, lowering his eyebrows.
"We were in a barbeque party near the lake and we decided to just take a stroll around, away from the party."
"Don't get me wrong Emma, you are a wonderful person, but you don't talk to people much. You try to stay away from everyone. I heard that a new guy tried to befriend you and yet you ran away."
"Things spread fast here," said Emma, frowning.
"You should socialize and try making new friends. Julia had always wanted you to do that," said Andre as he tried to convince Emma.
"I used to be like that before and I paid a price for it."
"Paid price for what?" Asked Andre, shocked.
"For trying to be a good friend."
"What happened?"
"Amanda was my friend in my first year at high school," replied Emma before she let out a huge sigh.
She wondered if it was right for her to tell the whole story to Andre. She did hang out with him many times along with Cathy but that didn't mean that they were really good friends.
"What? You must be kidding," said Andre whose mouth was now half-open because of the shocking news he just received.
"No. We were friends and now she bullies me."
"How did this happen?"
"I am not sure but I guess that maybe she did not like my fashion choices." lied Emma.
Emma did not want to tell the whole truth to Andre. The main reason why she and Amanda were no longer friends was because of a serious misunderstanding. Amanda liked a guy who in turn liked Emma and when Amanda got to know about this, she was furious. Amanda thought that Emma betrayed her by flirting with the boy she liked.
"Fashion choices? That is not a reason to bully anyone. Nobody even stops her from bullying others. Have you spoken to anyone from the school about her?" Asked Andre.
"It's alright. I am okay with it," replied Emma.
"How can you be okay with something like this? Emma, you need to tell someone. She bullied you throughout your high school life."
"It's not her fault. Amanda was a popular student and many girls wanted to hang out with her. Perhaps she spotted differences between me and those girls. She might be bullying me so that I would purposely avoid her. I think she is ashamed that I was her friend and she doesn't want to see my face.
"Okay, I get that. At the start, most of us are immature and later realize that we are hanging out with the wrong crowd but bullying is wrong."
"Oh look, we are already at the cabin." pointed out, Emma.
Away from the town, in the middle of woods, a small wooden house, surrounded by several trees, stood in front of them. Emma knocked softly on the door. A tall girl with light blonde hair opened the door. Her clothes were ripped and she had bruises on her hands.
"Cathy!" screamed Emma as she hugged her.
"You alright ?" Asked Andre.
Emma could see that there was a look of relief on Andre's face. Cathy almost cried as she hugged him. For a minute, Emma stood awkwardly until Cathy invited them in. They stepped inside the house and Cathy quickly closed the door. The small house had nothing but a small bed in one corner and a wooden table in another corner.
"How the hell are you surviving here? There is nothing here. You must be starving. let's get you something." said Andre.
"No you both must know this," said Cathy.
"I have to agree with Andre. Let's just go to the hospital first. You look hurt." said Emma, agreeing with Andre.
"Please hear me out first," said Cathy, worried.
"Fine, do whatever you want but do it fast," said Emma, lowering her eyebrows.
"This town is in danger. They are not normal and I have never seen them before. They are here for some girl."
"What?" said both Andre and Emma shocked.
"Last week when I was walking home, I saw Julia running from someone. I followed her and saw someone in a hood strangling her. Then I -
BOOM!!!
A huge sound came from the door. Someone began pounding on the door. They all looked at each other shocked. Cathy hand's were already trembling with fear and Emma could see sweat over Andre's face. The ponding did not stop. Emma's heart began to beat fast.
"You both did not call the police right? Emma, I trusted you," said Cathy, as she cried.
"We did not even utter about this to anyone," said Andre, looking at the door with widened eyes.
"Relax, maybe we are just imagining. Maybe someone came here for help after wandering around," said Emma, trying to keep everyone calm.
Andre slowly walked and opened the door. To his surprise, there was no one outside. Both Cathy and Emma looked at each other with widened eyes.
"But there was someone," said Emma, confused.
"Oh no, it is them. CLOSE THE DOOR!" said Cathy as fear struck all over her face.
Andre screamed as he got dragged outside by someone whom Emma couldn't see. Cathy immediately ran to lock the door while Emma stood inside the house stunned. Everything happened so quickly that she could not do anything. Her heart was now beating faster than usual. Cathy was sweating profusely as she locked the door.
"This won't help. They will still get us," she said as she fumbled with the lock.
A man in a black hood suddenly appeared in front of a window and broke it with his fist. Both Emma and Cathy gasped. Emma grabbed Cathy's right hand and rushed towards the bed. They both hid below the bed. As they sat underneath the bed, trembling with fear, they could hear someone pouring something on the floor. Neither of them understood what just happened. A few minutes later, when there was no sound, both came out.
"Whoever it was, he left," said Emma, relieved.
The man appeared again in front of the broken window and threw something on the floor, where Cathy stood.
"Move!" screamed Emma, but she was too late.
Cathy was now caught in flames.
Emma's ears were filled with Cathy's screams. Her friend was completely engulfed in fire and Emma couldn't do anything because this very fire was now all around her as well. The heat from the flames now increased. She tried looking around for Cathy but the growing flames made everything difficult."Cathy!" Emma finally managed to shout out but there was no response. The lack of response made Emma's heart pound in fear. She was now afraid for Cathy. The whole house was now in flames and Emma stood in confusion, trying to understand how to find Cathy. There was no means for escape. She was surrounded by the dancing flames around her. There were tears in her eyes, as she realized that this was her last day. Her head began spinning and she fell to the floor. She felt as though she could no longer breathe properly. She trie
After reaching the hospital, Andre and Emma were taken to a ward where there was hardly anyone. Two police officers stood as guards outside the ward to protect them. A female doctor checked both of them with a stethoscope. Emma was told to just take a little rest and she could leave the hospital tomorrow morning. She was no longer required to wear an oxygen mask either. Andre on the other hand would be required to stay for a couple because he required stitches. Although the doctor informed Emma that he wasn't in any danger.Though she felt relieved, a part of her was unhappy about Cathy. Her burning body and her screams were still fresh in Emma's mind. She couldn't forget about it. She tossed and turned around on the white bed until she received a call on her cellphone from her anxious mother. Someone from the hospital had informed her that she was brought to the
Emma pushed the old wooden door of the church and walked out. It was Sunday and unlike her mother and sister, Emma always went to church for Sunday prayers and sermons. As she continued to walk on the dusty road, she remembered how Cathy died.Although the FBI agent gave her his number, she hasn't responded to him about his offer. She had dedicated her life in high school to study hard for the medical entrance exam and if she succeeded in giving any important evidence, she could go to one of the best universities. At the same time, she felt she would not get her hands on anything important. She felt that Stephen was innocent and may have nothing to do with the murders. Moreover, she felt was probably getting involved in something dangerous. She felt guilty for not telling anyone at home about witnessing Cathy's death but she didn't want anyone to get angry at her. She had requested Sheriff Oscar not to say anything about this to anyo
Emma nervously ate breakfast along with the rest of the family. They all sat around a wooden circular table in the corner of the main hall eating their morning meal. Just before breakfast, Emma had received a call from Stephen reminding her about their date. He told her that he would pick her up in the afternoon for a lunch date.'What shouldIsay to everyone about it? I just met a guy and already decided to date him? It'snot likeIwantedtoevengo out. He blackmailed meforit. I shouldhavemade surethatAndre and I were alone.'thought Emma as she continued to eat slices of bacon.Mr Smith kept talking to them about how a famous actress made unreasonable demands at the resort."The moment she stepped inside the resort, she im
After breakfast, Emma went upstairs to her bedroom to change her clothes but before she could walk inside the room, Nancy dragged Emma to her bedroom and threw a bunch of red dresses on the bed."You refused to wear my favourite one so here are other red dresses.""Are you deaf? I told you that I won't wear any red.""Oh come on!! You are going on a date for the first time. You need to look good. You will look great in a red dress.""Nancy, let's be honest. I don't look good in anything. It is not worth trying it."She pushed Nancy as she walked past her. She stopped in front of the bedroom's door and turned her neck to look at her sister.
This was the second time she sat inside Stephen's car. Though she could sit very comfortably, she still felt very nervous. Ever since she saw Julia's ring, she felt scared and nervous. As soon as Stephan began to drive, Emma quietly sent Agent Jones, the photographs of Julia's ring and the marked American map through her cellphone. She was now waiting for his reply. "Are you feeling nervous?" asked Stephen. "A little," said Emma quietly "Let's play some music so relax you." Stephen increased the volume for radio music and Rihanna's believe it began to play. Almost an hour later, Emma realised that they were almost out of town. "Where are we going?" asked Emma, nervously. "Somewhere inside the woods," replied Stephen. 'Why so far away from town? He is planning to kill me?" thought Emma as Stephen parked his car on the side
It was a warm afternoon and though some areas of the town were still covered with snow, the bright sun made everyone feel warm. Many residents of Roseville came out on Sunday for watching a movie or going to restaurants. Those who had been working hard in the office could take a break and enjoy outside for a day. However, The Roseville Hospital remained busy even on Sunday. It was a huge white rectangular building in the middle of the town. It had a glass door along with a long metal handle for the entrance.Several cars were parked in front of the hospital. Several people could be seen going in and coming out of the hospital. On either side of the hospital were thick overgrown shrubs and trees.A small black crow flew swiftly across the sky. The crow looked at the hospital with its sh
Stephen carried Emma back to the canopy and made her sit on the chair underneath it. He asked her to show him his wound but Emma refused to show it Initially."I am not letting you go back to your home unless you do so," said Stephen."Alright! Don't touch it," said Emma. She slowly pulled her dress a little up and showed him a small cut near her ankle."You need to sit here quietly. I will just go and get the first aid kit from the car.""Stephen, please don't leave me alone. I think he will come back," said Emma." Emma, take your phone and call the police. I will come back just within few minutes. It may look like a small cut to
The dark sky was filled with plenty of clouds, giving the hint of rain to all the small brown boats on the sea. The sounds of thunder began sending several men on these boats in action. All these men were dressed in dark blue shirts and trousers, with a white eagle on their shirts. They made sure to increased the speed of their boats to reach the shore but the blowing wind disturbed their actions. However, one boat was different. This boat unlike them did not have anyone. It just kept floating completely undisturbed by the waves of the sea or the strange howling winds. This boat caught the eye of another man who was dressed in blue like the others. He had dark black hair and brown skin with a black mustache. He stopped rowing the boat the moment it caught his dark black eyes scanned the boat before lowering his eyebrows."Hey guys! Did someone fall from that boat?" He asked loudly pointing it to the others."Kasun dude, just leave it. Can't you see? There is probably a storm coming
"Forgive whatever sins they had committed through human weakness and in your goodness, grant them eternal rest." said the priest as the mud began to be thrown over the casket covering two bodies which were dug deep inside the earth, side by side.Dressed in a long black robe, the old priest with grey hair stood the closest to the bodies. The other people dressed in black outfits gathered around the two freshly dug bodies, almost forming a circle, making a small crowd in the back of the graveyard. Everyone in the circle, from the young children to the old grey-haired adults, looked down with sadness on their faces. They had been told already about the deaths of this couple a few days ago by the local newspaper but the post mortem and the police delayed the funeral.Today, finally the day came for them to pay respect to the wea
What would you do if any member of your family went missing? Of course, one would call all the friends and ask them if they knew anything. If nobody knew anything, one would have to turn to the police.First Emma went to Stephen's house along with Agent Wilson to check for her sister Nancy. She suspected that he was involved in her abduction. Instead of finding Nancy, she found her photograph with a school's bad boy Justin Miller. Emma came back home disappointed but she didn't give up. She called up each of Nancy's friends and ask them if Nancy had told them anything strange. Unfortunately, none of them knew anything that would help them find her sister. Emma had even called up Justin who straightaway said that they hardly spoke to each other these days.Agent Wilson assured Emma that he would once again check th
Hours went by and yet Nancy was kept tied to a chair in a small dark room by a rope. The only times her rope was removed was when she had to eat or go to the washroom. The person who had brought her into this situation was her secret lover, Justin Miller. He was someone whom she had always trusted. Being a daughter of a successful businessman and sister of someone who was considered a brilliant student, Nancy was always under the scanner of people. Opening up about a boyfriend who was a party animal would have caused a scandal too. Hence when Justin insisted on keeping their relationship a secret, she agreed to it, even though she wasn't happy. His sudden disappearance disturbed her but when he returned, he was completely different. Nancy should have understood that something was wrong. She should have stayed away from him. Not only was Justin a vampire, but he was also involved w
Stephen sat on a white bed in the recovery room of his house. This was the room where the injured vampires would come for recovery. Gregory was once made to rest in this very room. Everything in this room, from the bed to the cupboards was white. The windows in this room were covered with newspapers. The injured vampires could rest here and Stephen's mother would provide blood for their recovery. All the servants were strictly instructed never to enter this room. The reason was that any injured vampires may attack them because of severe thirst.Ever since Emma appeared at his house, Stephen was worried. Emma's sister Nancy went missing and Emma suspected him to be involved in her disappearance. He knew that convincing her won't be easy but he had to act as fast as possible. If anything happened to her sister, the blame would somehow fall on him. He kept pacing around the rec
It was early morning in the town of Roseville. The sun shone brightly on the streets, which no longer had any snow. It was now the season of spring. Several plants and beautiful roses in various places now seemed to grow again. A tall, dark muscular man walked quietly in the woods, looking around, making sure no one saw her. This man wore a black leather jacket and trousers. He had brown hair and dark black eyes that scanned the area around him. His eyes fell on little birds that sat on a branch of a tall tree in front of him. The little birds kept making noise until a big bird approached them. The dark man turned around and saw a fawn sitting beside a tree. Another deer stood beside it and ate leaves from a plant nearby. The dark man walked very slowly and carefully towards the fawn. He didn't want them to know his presence, so he ducked the moment the deer turned its
It has been always commonly known that siblings cannot be the exact mirror image of each other. Many times the world has seen siblings who have opposite personalities. The same thing was with Emma and Nancy. Though they were sisters they had opposite personalities. Emma was studious but Nancy believed that being practical was more important. Nancy believed that being an academic achiever was not the most important thing in life. She believed that one even needs to enjoy their life. Emma was perfectly aware of this opinion. She knew but never told anyone about Nancy's party life. Not even her parents were aware of Nancy's rave parties which she was secretly attending even when she was grounded. What surprised her the most was a photograph in Stephen's house. Agent Wilson found this photograph in one of the bedrooms and showed it to Emma. It was a photograph of Nancy hol
Family meant everything to Emma. Whenever she was hurt, it was her family that supported her. They encouraged her whenever she decided to do anything that she had not done before. Emma had several beautiful memories with her family. Her sister Nancy was an important member of the family. She was the joy of the house. Unlike Emma, Nancy was all about fun. She wasn't all about academic excellence. Nancy wanted to study but not very seriously like her older sister. She wanted to enjoy her high school days as well.Emma pretended not to know much about her party life but she knew where her sister went. This was because of her friend, Andre. He would always inform her where she went. However, there was something else he had noticed. It looked like Nancy was getting involved with one of the bad guys at the school. Though Andre wasn't sure about it, he later assured that he would try and
Nancy Smith always thought her life was safe and secure despite her wild nights with friends. Never had she thought that her secret lover would kidnap her. When she learnt about the new rave party in the town that is secretly being held in the woods, she immediately called her secret lover Justin Miller. Nancy's mother, Helina Smith had grounded her and she was made to eat a very healthy diet. Justin immediately sprung into action and decided to help her escape her house. What she didn't know was that Justin was a vampire as well.It all started with Julia's corpse. No doctor could understand the main cause of death. All they found out was that she was anaemic. Soon after her funeral, Cathy went missing and she wasn't even found as a corpse by the police. Justin too went missing that time. Nancy was upset but she didn't say anything to anyone. She send him thousands of messa
