Lucas had sneaked back into his apartment building when he returned from his long trek just to deceive the witch from knowing where he lived with his brothers.
He took one last look around the door leading into his apartment before he unlocked it and went inside before quickly shutting it.
Mark and Andrew were in the sitting room when he walked in and they saw how quickly he shut the door behind him. He also looked like he was hiding from someone.
"Welcome back, how did your date go?", Mark asked. He didn't want to comment immediately on why he seemed unlike his usual self, he seemed troubled.
"It was perfect, I had a great time with Nicole", Lucas said as he walked towards them to have his seat.
Mildred sneaked back home, hoping no one had noticed her absence. When she got back, she noticed her room was exactly as she left it. She was relieved no one had come looking for her, including Alpha White. She headed to her bed to lie down from a frustrating evening she had with the Alpha hybrid. She didn't even get the chance to know his name or tell him hers. As she was about lying down she heard a familiar voice from behind and it startled her."Mildred, where are you coming from?", Alpha White asked. He was standing behind her door when she walked in and so did not spot him in her room.Mildred knew she had been caught for the first time. She didn't know how Alpha White would respond to her disobedience of his order.
It's been almost a day since Nicole last saw either Angela or Charles. Since then he hadn't heard or seen either of them, which was usual. She would have gone to check up on them earlier than this but she had a date with Lucas this evening and had to wait until her date with him was over. She thoroughly enjoyed her time out with him, it was truly beautiful and romantic as she had dreamt about. But now she was missing the company of her best friend Angela and her boyfriend Charles and so she drove to Angela's apartment to see if they were there. She parked by the street before getting down from her muscle car and walking to her front door. She tried to open the door, usually like her Angela didn't usually lock her front door but it was locked. She rang the doorbell and waited for her to come open the door but she didn't.
Nicole was still reeling from the news Angela had just told her but she had to brace herself for more as he was about to inform her about how he was killed."Charles told me yesterday, he heard from his source that he died some days ago in a battle which he fought alongside the vampire hierarchy", Angela revealed."Battle?", Nicole asked, puzzled."Were Dracula and the vampire hierarchy still fighting battles like they did in the medieval times?", she thought to herself. She thought they were more refined now, more diplomatic in resolving their modern day conflicts. To hear he died in battle was really shocking, something a lot of vampires who were not a part of the hierarchy thought it was in the past.
Nicole was surprised that Charles believed the trio of Lucas, Mark and Andrew could take on Lord Dracula and thousands of original vampires and win.It was a big revelation, one she had never considered before. She had feared that if the identities of Lucas and his brothers were revealed as the vampire hybrids they would easily be killed by hundreds of vampires, hence she vowed to keep it secret but she was wrong. It seemed they were invincible!"Okay", she said finally, accepting what he said could be true but she was going to speak with Lucas first before concluding on the matter. She needed to hear his own side of the story too."So you finally accept they hybrids were responsible for Sir Paul's death?", Charles asked to be sure. Angela also listened to hear her response.
It was now running late into the night in Charles' apartment and Nicole was ready to go to bed. She was not going to return back to her apartment this late in the night; rather , she was going to sleep over at Charles' apartment. They had spoken enough tonight and it was now time for her to bid them goodnight."I have to sleep now you too", Nicole said as he observed them still cuddled up and talking."I hope I didn't make you bored?", Angela asked sincerely. She hadn't been paying too much attention to Nicole. Charles was distracting her with his show of affection."No it's fine. You need to keep him company, he needs it especially now", Nicole said.
Nicole woke up suddenly from her sleep. It was only a dream."It was only a nightmare", she whispered to herself, as she sat up in bed but it seemed very real. She listened from the guest room to know she disturbed the sleep of the others but she heard no sound."Good, they are still sound at sleep", she said. She was glad it was just a dream but it was a shocking dream to her."I could never do what I did in my dream, could I?", she asked herself, deeply troubled."If I was to choose between my love for Lucas and Angela, who would I pick?", she asked herself. That was essentially the choice she had to make in the dream and she chose Lucas over her be
"Was it about last night, I thought last night was beautiful?", he asked trying to figure out why she looked so upset and completely different from the girl he took on a romantic date just some hours ago."No, it's not about last night!", she said in a loud tone trying to regain her composure. She didn't want to think about last night."Last night was beautiful", she whispered under her breath. So quiet she knew Lucas wouldn't hear her clearly."I came here to talk about you Lucas", she said annoyed at him."About me?", he asked, surprised."Yes you, Lucas!""And don't try play dumb w
Nicole got back into her car and felt a little relieved she had summoned the courage to tell Lucas the truth about himself after the shocking revelation he had just told her. He had killed over 8,000 vampires in the space of some few weeks he had known her, while she had killed zero people all her life, since she was given birth to as a vampire. She didn't want to fully think of all the implications her action would cause her later, as she started the car and slowly drove off into the empty street. She was going to drive home. Her adrenaline levels were still high as she was still breathing fast from the experience she just had and was trying to steady her breath as she drove. It took her a while to get it under control with deep repeated breaths.&
