Mildred got into the taxi, where the taxi driver had kept his meter running.
"Let's go", she said.
The taxi driver could see Nicole standing outside of her front door and knew she was fine. As much as he wanted to make extra cash, he didn't want to be part of a murder accessory.
"Where to?", he asked, looking at her from the rear view mirror.
"To the northern part of the city", she said, a bit impatiently.
"Got you", he said, as he drove off in that direction.
It was a long drive from where they were but he didn't mind, as long as it would fetch him more money.
