CHAPTER FIFTEEN: SURGE OF EMOTIONS

Valerie pulled away from Alan abruptly, staring toward the area that she had seen flashes from, her heart grew heavy as she managed to make out words, but she soon burst into tears. Alan cupped her face in his palms, directing her head to meet his eyes, the expression on his face was a mix of confusion, worry, and sadness.

"Someone saw us, Alan," she cried, hyperventilating.

"It's okay, calm down. Nothing will happen to you, "

"I'm not worried about myself Alan, I am most worried for you. I don't want anything to happen to you… you are my friend, " she said, sniffing.

Alan stared at her for a few seconds and slowly removed his hands from her face.

"Friend? " he asked slowly, a confused and sad expression on his face, he got up and stood in front of her, nodding his head as tears welled up in his eyes.

"Do you kiss your friends Valerie? " he asked, and she gave no answer, she only avoided his stares.
