Doubt

Luna noticed the strict , stern looking madam being taken away by two men and two maids as she had fainted .

‘ Since I arrived this morning she was the scariest of all the people here yet she fainted when she saw this man . Is he scarier than her ? ‘ thought Luna with a nervous look .

She averted her eyes towards the man she mistakenly threw to the pool . Just a look of his stare made her feel nervous . The manager rushed to come to the poolside with two bodyguards following him from behind . When he saw Massimo wet , his face became blue from fear . He looked as if he would have a heart attack soon .

“ ……Sir…….Massimo , are you alright ? “ asked the manager with his nervous voice shaking like his shoulders .

Massimo kept silent and simply looked at Luna .

‘ How could she be here ?…….Did she get the news that I would be here today so she followed me ?…….Has she learned who I am ?….I never took my mask off yesterday . She didn’t see my face and she left right away without asking anything about me . If she didn’t know me then what is she doing here ?…… ‘ thought Massimo staring at her .

“ Do I look alright to you ? “ said Massimo glaring at the manager with a killer’s look .

“ I….I…..We deeply apologise for this incident . We didn’t know that our staff would do such a foolish mistake . You….. “ said the manager with a pleading tone then turned towards Luna angrily .

“ You….Who are you ? “ said the manager confused when he saw Luna .

“ I….My name is Luna . “ said Luna with a troubled look .

“ I am pretty sure that you aren’t part of the people that I employed recently . You are certainly a new face . Speak ! Who are you ? “ said the manager angry .

“ I….I….I came today as a substitute for someone . She had a very important case at her home to take care of so she asked me if I could come in her place because the butler said that no one could miss today . “ said Luna .

“ Substitute ?! Who gave that person the permission to take someone else at their place ? “ said the manager .

“ I…. “ said Luna but didn’t have time to continue speaking because he was going to scold her again .

“ Do you understand what foolish mistake you have done ? “ said the manager with a pissed off look , yelling and scolding Luna .

He yelled at her too much and Massimo just kept looking at the scene silently .

“ The person whom you filled in for is fired . Apologise properly to sir Massimo then get lost . “ said the manager .

Luna felt bad for losing her friend’s job but now she had no other choice than to listen to the manager .

“ I am very sorry sir Massimo . It was a mistake and purely unintentional . “ said Luna looking down .

Massimo looked at Luna then go it up from the chair .

“ Enough ! I don’t want anyone to say anything about what happened today . If I hear anything , I will make this place go bankrupt . As for you , come with me if you are really sorry . “ said Massimo glaring at Luna .

“ Y…Y….Yes , sir ! “ said the manager .

Luna gulped a little and followed Massimo as he head inside . The manager and the others bowed as Massimo walked .

‘ …...I know I am a bit clumsy but why did I have to get myself involved in such a situation…..with such a person ?!…..He clearly is a man of importance to make everyone shiver and bow to him in respect . Ah , Luna ! You idiot ! ‘ thought Luna with a troubled expression .

They walked inside the building and a servant waited for them at the door .

“ Sir , Massimo , your room is ready . “ said the servant handing over the keep .

Massimo nodded his head and the two of them went to his room . Luna was surprised when she saw that it was a suite and the best suite in the building as it wrote royal suite outside the door .

‘ …Okay……Now I am sure I am done for . Not only they show immense respect to him but they also have given him the most luxurious room in the building……….Haaaah ! I wish I could get out of here . ‘ thought Luna to herself with a depressed expression .

‘ Pfff ! What is she thinking with that silly expression of hers ? ‘ thought Massimo chuckling .

After they entered inside , Massimo threw his phone and his watch on the bed . Luna looked at his watch and phone . Her face colour immediately vanished and became pale .

‘ I know the cost of the phone but the cost of that watch…….That’s clearly a limited edition of Rolex watch………I won’t be able to pay for it even if I work my whole life .

“ What are you thinking ? “ asked Massimo when he saw Luna staring at his phone and watch .

“ I am thinking about how I will end up as a granny with a debt just because of a stupid , unintentional mistake………So expensive……..It’s not fair . “ said Luna with a loss face .

Massimo looked at her dumb loss expression and couldn’t help from laughing a little but still kept his cool .

“ It seems like you know the value of that limited edition Rolex . Do you realise the seriousness of the mistake you made ? “ said Massimo .

“ …I do…..unfortunately….. “ said Luna with a ghost like expression .

“ Give me the clean suit . “ said Massimo .

“ A clean suit ?…….Where can I find a clean suit ? “ asked Luna .

“ I always take one with me in cases of emergencies but I never had to use it before . It’s in the bag over there . “ said Massimo .

Luna looked around and saw the bag at the corner . Massimo kept looking at her and at her seriously worried expression . With each step she looked as if she was walking on eggshells .

“ Silly ! “ said Massimo .

“ Huh ? “ said Luna .

“ The Phone is custom made to be protected from water . My limited edition Rolex is also waterproof . Both of them won’t break by simply falling in the water . “ said Massimo .

Luna looked at him surprised of how he was able to read her thought but as soon as she heard that they wouldn’t be damaged the relief and happiness could be read on her face then something else crossed her mind .

‘ ……He is rich and clearly spoiled . If he asks me for medical costs I may not be able to pay for it . Luckily I escaped paying for the phone and watch……..I better leave here before he says he doesn’t feel well . ‘ thought Luna with a determined look .

“ Sir , I need to get back to work . “ said Luna placing the cleaned clothes on the table .

Massimo looked at her and smirked .

“ It seems like you aren’t aware of the mistake you made . “ said Massimo going towards her .

Luna looked at his serious expression and felt quite intimidated .

“ Your cleaned clothes are on the table . I am sorry for what happened . I should get going now as I have a lot of work to finish . Please excuse me , sir ! “ said Luna rushing .

“ Why are you here ? “ asked Massimo staring at her as if she is interrogating her .

“ Excuse me ? “ said Luna confused .

“ I don’t wanna repeat myself . Why are you here today ? “ said Massimo with a serious tone .

“ Emmm…..I am here to bring you the cleaned clothes and ask you to please be kind enough to forgive me ? “ said Luna confused as to what he was referring to .

Looking at her confused expression , Massimo could see that she had no idea of what he was saying .

Luna could feel his steps as he walked towards her . She turned her around and saw Massimo shirtless close to her . As she realised how close they were , she startled and stepped back but ended up slipping because of the silky long tablecloth that . Massimo caught her from her waist and pulled her towards himself . He looked at her deep brown eyes .

‘ It looks like she indeed has no idea who I am . The fact that we met yesterday , it seems she can’t make the connection yesterday and today . She was so smart yesterday…… ‘ thought Massimo .

“ It seems like I overestimated your IQ . “ mumbled Massimo .

“ What did you say ? “ asked Luna .

“ I said….you look quite comfortable in my arms . I was wondering whether you purposely made such a foolish mistake to have a reason to stay close to me and try to seduce me . You really chose an unusual way to approach me . “ said Massimo with a devilish smirk as he looked at her face .
