Chapter 78

The rising sun reflected the long shadow of the young man standing against the corridor's wall, his brown eyes fixed on the door in front of him with such an intense look, as if he was waiting for it to burst open and reveal that that person was behind it all this time.

But that never happened, all night he had been standing there waiting and waiting but nothing happened. The door never opened.

Footsteps approached him down the hallway but he didn't turn around to look at their owner. There was no need to do that. He already knew who they belonged to and it wasn't the person he had been waiting for all night long.

"He’s still not here?" Noah asked as he approached him with a worried expression carrying a cup of coffee and handing it to him.

Will smiled at Noah who looked at him as if he was about to fall from exhaustion. It was clear that none of them had slept a wink that night though. While Will was waiting for Azeph to return, Noah kept coming up to check on him every few hours.
