"It did make some sense, didn't it?" Mr. Yates said with a deep understanding and Dave couldn't help but laugh internally. That girl just now, wasn't she just sixteen or seventeen years old, she easily fooled her teacher and he actually believed her. She was quite brave. "Yes...! I think that too..." Dave replied, amused. Though he didn't believe whatever Thea said, he never doubted a sixteen year old girl could beat up those girls either. Besides, Dave saw those girls from the senior section. They were all grown ups with quite a personality like fighters and Thea was nothing but a chubby girl. How the heck could he even doubt it...! "So, what do you think we should do, officer?" Smacking him out of his chain of thoughts, Mr. Yates asked. "Leave it to us, Mr. Yates, I think some outsiders might be involved in this matter. We are still investigating and soon we will provide you with a good answer" Mr. Yates nodded, gratefully and Dave walked out. As soon as Thea walked into the classroom, she noticed the bustling class had silenced. They looked at her as if they were seeing a ghost. Thea heaved a sigh and ignored them completely. When she stood beside her desk, she saw a question paper lying on her desk. She rolled her eyes. "What is this?" She asked the girl sitting next to her, her desk mate. "What? You don't remember? it's math test" Thea exhaled, annoyed. "Damn...! Now I have to answer these silly tests? Aghh it's so hard to be a student...! I should have chosen some other host instead" she thought before slowly sitting on her desk. Amelia Harlow, her desk mate was a topper in her class and unavoidably an introvert too. Even though she wouldn't support the kid's bullying, she would never help anyone with anything either. Yep, the kind of mean girls who have nothing to do with anyone in the class. She would only look out for herself. "Do we have to complete it now?" Thea asked again, she was sleepy and didn't want to write a test. Amelia nodded her head and covered up her answers with her hand, worried that Thea would sneak a peek into her paper. Thea noticed and laughed sarcastically. It was just a maths paper and for her intelligence, this was not more than a child's play to her. "After you left, Mr. Thomas sent the math test paper over. You need to finish the test as soon as possible." One of the other students chimed in and got back to his work. Thea sat down and looked at the paper in front of her. She could easily solve all the questions. She simply took a look, picked up a pen and started filling in the answers. Within just a few minutes, she stopped writing and yawned. She was too lazy to write the answers. She threw the pen away and decided to take a nap on the desk. As the bell rang, the kids handed over the test papers to the class monitor and walked towards the cafeteria. Thea woke up, still in a daze only to find the boy who answered her earlier, standing near her desk. "Were you sleeping without answering the test paper?" he laughed and Thea felt it wasn't necessary to answer him. He grabbed the paper and started reading it. "Did you just pin down those alphabets randomly? Ha...ha... you are quite something..." He mocked and the other kids were present in the class, all laughed. Thea was indeed a bad student. No matter how hard she studied, her grades were always bad. Every time, she would rack her brains, only to get the answers wrong. After the results were in, she would still be mocked and laughed at by other kids. She heaved a sigh, ignored the boy's mockery and walked out of the class room. She wasn't hungry so she slowly walked towards the playing ground. Looking at the kids playing and running, she sat near the stairs. Soon she heard some noises coming from somewhere. When looked around, she found a little husky staring at her. That small dog was injured and was so scared of her. "Hey...!" Thea took a step ahead but the dog instantly yanked back. She stopped raising an eyebrow. "Did you recognise me?" she asked in a serious tone. The husky wagged its tail. Thea was stunned. The dog might have recognised the other worldly aura around her. "Come here." she called it, her tone commanding. The little husky was so startled that it followed the command but didn't dare make any sound. Thea kneeled down beside it and slowly reached out to scoop it into her arms. The husky felt better, it's former fear subsiding. "How did you get yourself injured?" It howled in a low tone as if talking to her, explaining its situation and Thea actually understood everything. The husky said in its language that she was caught by a bunch of four street dogs and was injured while fighting with them. Thea was surprised to see that she could actually communicate with the husky. After all, she didn't lose all her powers. She went to the school nurse and asked for a bandage and some ointment for the dog. After applying the medicine and bandaging her leg, Thea gave the little husky some food. "You can rest here for now, but don't go out for a while" she instructed the poor little thing and left her beneath the staircases. Just as she was about to turn around, a familiar voice rang into her ears. "Were you just talking to the dog?" Thea turned around to see the same handsome face, Dave, smiling at her. He was now dressed up in casual wear, looking more approachable. "Is it a crime to talk to animals, Officer?" Thea asked wiping her hands with tissue paper. The smile on his handsome face spread, turning into a friendly grin. He looked away then shifted his gaze back to her. She is so different. "Do I look that unreasonable to you?" he asked, extending a can of coke towards her. She stared at the free treat then to the man before accepting it. He walked over to her and asked in a cool tone, "You haven't eaten yet, right?" Thea looked at him, surprised. "Let's grab something to eat" Thea rolled her eyes, unable to understand the unusual attention she was getting from him. "Uncle...are you hitting on me?" she blurted out, directly. Dave was dumbfounded. This girl was so straight forward. *************Author's point of view... "Hey..." Dave scoffed, "If that's a joke, you are quite bold at it" Thea returned him the coke she accepted before and started walking away. He hurried behind her. "Mr.Yates believed you because he didn't have anything to reason but do you really think you can just escape from the charges because you were not in the dorm?" Thea paused. So, he was here to investigate. If she leaves now, she will be igniting the fire of suspicion. "What do you mean?" she turned around to see him. He smiled as he stood there with his hands crossed over his chest. "Why don't we continue this while grabbing something to eat? I haven't eaten anything either. I think I saw a restaurant outside your school. Let's go get some chicken tacos for you." Thea was now very annoyed. She exhaled not paying attention to the man "No thanks but can you come to the point directly?" What was his deal? Is this a normal cop behavior? "Get to the point..." he repeated her words
Author's point of view... Looking around, he flung his stick toward Thea with all his might, but she caught it mid-air, jumped down from the fence, and used that same stick to knock him out with one swift strike. "Oh...I didn't see it properly..." Thea said, landing on the ground. Dave's jaw dropped. Isn't she a girl? How did she jump from a wall so high? The gang froze, stunned by her speed and ferocity. Thea, who looked anything but active, moved with a nimble grace, dodging attacks and striking back with precision. It looked as if they weren't fighting but a director had given them all these roles to play along and Thea knew all their moves in advance. Each swing hit its mark, leaving her opponents writhing in pain. She knew exactly where to strike to cause the most agony. "Agh...! I didn't mean it" Every time she moved the stick in her hands, it would beat someone deliberately but she never failed to show her innocence. The thugs were outraged. How could they get
Author's point of view... When Thea returned to the dorm after two hours of late-night study, she found her roommates staring at her as if she’d grown an extra head or something. That was unusual. Because according to the memory of the previous owner of this body, these girls would always bully Thea for no reason. Could it be because of what happened in the class room? Thea thought about it and understood everything. She did threatened Britney and the other girls were like her minions so it's oblivious that they would be terrified with her too. "That's good though..." Thea muttered, pleased for the attention she was receiving right now. As she walked in, Britney, the trouble maker and the most violent one of them, backed away, fear evident in her wide eyes. Thea barely spared them a glance as she strode toward the bathroom, unfazed by their bewildered expressions. She had more pressing matters to tend to than the nervous stares of her roommates. Inside the bathroom, s
Author's point of view... As it was a hot summer day, the classroom was especially stuffy, with only a few large ceiling fans buzzing to stir the heavy summer air. "Gosh...! It's so hot today" Every student was restless, fanning themselves with notebooks and daydreaming of ice-cold drinks because other than being a hot day, it was the day that the marksheet for the previous tests will be given. Amid the heat, where everyone in the class were struggling, Thea sat calmly, her head bowed on the desk. She felt oddly cool compared to everyone else as the place she was from, the monster land, had a very hot climate usually and this place was like a hill station for her. Ren, the class monitor, started distributing the math test papers from yesterday. The students were nervous as their teacher was so strict when it comes to their results. The students who got less than 50 points in maths will be punished. Those who received their papers quickly started comparing answers. Aft
Author's point of view... "What do you think she would do?" one of the students whispered to another. "What else, she will make some stupid excuse for sure..." another chimed in. They shared mocking glances and continued their chatter. But, without giving them a damn, Thea stood up from her seat. Of course, she was lazy but that doesn't mean she wouldn't show her talents to anyone. She had to shut those mouths up. To everyone’s surprise, Thea didn't get bothered by those remarks, instead she got up without hesitation, walking calmly to the podium. Picking up a piece of chalk just like some professional teacher, she began writing two neat rows of calculations on the blackboard, completing the answer effortlessly. Everyone gawked in shock. "What the hell is that??" Her letters floated above their heads. Though she wrote the right calculation, the method she used was the hardest one that anyone had ever used. Finished, she turned to the class with a casual air, rollin
Author's point of view... "Hey Fatty..." A girl, short but with eyes filled with disdain and disrespect, chewing gum, smacked Thea on her head. Thea was so annoyed that she wanted to break that girl's hand, right then and there. She turned around and stared at her. "What did you just call me?" That girl was a senior student, a minion to one of the bullies in the senior section. As Linda and her gang were beaten up and were out of the picture, it was their turn to boost their gang of bullies. These kind of things were common in High schools now a days. Those with some fighting skills and some notorious name in society start up a gang and bully kids, collecting money from them in the name of protection money. Thea clearly despised that kind of behaviour. But at that moment, she was standing in the hallway, right before her class room and she didn't want to mess with this annoying girl. However, as that gile looked at Thea, she felt threatened and no matter what kind of a b
Author's point of view... "Hey...Is this seat empty?" Thea glanced up, startled, when a warm, clear voice broke through the noise around her. She was taken aback for a moment when that voice interrupted her chain of thoughts again. "Hey...Can I sit here?" When she looked up to see the owner of the voice, her mind literally went blank. What the heck...! she muttered to herself. A boy was standing beside her with a gentle smile on his face. He was strikingly handsome. His skin slightly tanned but flawless, and his dark brows, sharp and perfectly shaped, framed his deep-set eyes. His face was like sculpted, taking all the time needed, exuding a strong aura, yet softened by a natural charm. Even the curve of his lips seemed effortlessly inviting. Why are the humans here in this land so strikingly beautiful? Why didn't monster land have any of these masterpieces? This boy had very unique facial features that could only be compared to the police officer, Dave, that she me
Author's point of view... A beautiful princess of the Monster Land, Maria, sat at the edge of a dark, bubbling lake of blood, her attention lazily drifting between the glowing screen of her tabloid and the silent, spooky landscape surrounding her. And of course, it wasn't pleasant to the eye. One can literally pass out just by seeing it. The lake reflected the night sky, stained red as though it held the glow of a thousand sunsets captured beneath its surface. Beside her, a group of little servant elves stood at attention, their wide eyes following every flick of her finger on the screen, ready with suggestions and insights as she considered the soul-host options for her test. Maria’s long, claw-like nail tapped idly on the screen as she scrolled down the list, a frown crossing her delicate features with every option she read. The elves crossed their little arms sharing either an 'awe' or an 'Ugh' accordingly. "First one," one of the elves piped up, its voice high-pitche
