All of a sudden, I recalled what happened before I went abroad. Sean had hugged me and refused to let go. It was his first time shedding tears because of me.

"If we make it past this hurdle, Daphne, I'm going to marry you when you come back," he had said then.

Cynthia was crying tears of joy. They embraced in blissful happiness while I went back out into the rain like a pathetic fool.

The chill from the water that soaked into my shoes moved all the way up my body, chilling me to the bone.

Ever since I found out Sean was cheating on me, I had been considering breaking up with him. However, we had known each other for 27 years and had been in a loving relationship for ten. He had long become a seemingly inseparable part of me.

I didn't know how to ask for a breakup—to remove him from my heart.

But now, I realized I would never be able to forgive Sean. In fact, I wished he had never appeared in my life.
