Chapter 62 Madelaine Jackson

The narrow and dim hallways of the detention center smelled like rotten tomatoes. From the line of about six bulbs illuminating the passageway, two were dead and one is even flickering. The state of the building was something that will easily crumble when hit by a mild earthquake. Cracks filled the dull-colored walls and even some doors were missing with knobs.

 It was unusually quiet for a detention center which holds juveniles as well. “Is anyone even here?” he asked keeping pace with Officer Diane.

“Some were already transferred to prisons, and some got free. Currently we only have three who were all placed upstairs because they are quite loud and troublesome, I need to keep them away from my office,” she answered.
