Chapter 195: Caught but not Jailed

Celia kept her mouth shut as if remaining silent would get her out of trouble. She looked at Lorcan with pleading eyes as she silently begged him to stop.

“L-Lorcan, please just believe me,” Celia pleaded, but Lorcan wasn’t moved by her tears.

Lorcan shook his head, he had so many doubts. It is hard for him to trust Celia by just her mere words. Even though Celia is in tears and is begging him to believe her, somehow he’s still not convinced that she’s telling the truth.

Before, Lorcan used to trust Celia much more than he trusted himself. He believes her, even when she contradicts his logic. Now that he’s no longer infatuated with Celia, his feelings don’t cloud his judgment of her anymore. He could now see her in a new light. He could finally discern him intellectually and not emotionally.

Her tears don’t cloud his judgment anymore, and he no longer believes her lies as easily as he used to.
