CHAPTER THIRTY-NINE: Lilian's Fear

LILIAN’S POV:

How did Marius find out? I’m sure I was careful, meticulous even.

The specter of Hazel loomed large, even in death or fake death, overshadowing any chance I had of making Carter truly mine. Desperation drove me into Vincent’s arms. Knowing he loved me as a woman and not as a sister, I used that love so I could get Carter back, which he agreed to. The result is Morgan.

The plan worked!

Carter accepted the child as his own and even offered me marriage. But now, with Marius' discovery, the fragile facade I’ve constructed may be crumbling down sooner than I’ve anticipated.
