CHAPTER EIGHTY-SEVEN: Telling Marius the Truth

HAZEL’S POV:

Though I’m angry at Nicole’s deception, a bigger part of me is happy that she isn’t really pregnant. And Marius has to know that!

While walking down the hallway, a sudden sharp pain shoots through the back of my head as something yanks my hair from behind. I stumble to the floor, seeing Nicole’s face twisted with fury.

Luckily, a nurse passes by, forcing Nicole to let go of my hair.

"You're so clumsy as always," Nicole says, her voice dripping with false concern.

She pretends to help me up, but I shove her hand away and stand on my own.

"Don't you ever dare touch me again," I spit, my glare blazing.

When the nurse is out of earshot, Nicole's mask drops.

"What you heard earlier was incorrect," she says. "I really am pregnant, and I can show you as many proofs as you want."

I smirk triumphantly. "I'm not as stupid as I once was, Nicole. Now, good luck with those proofs. You’re never gonna ruin me and Marius."

As I turn to leave, Nicole grabs my hair again, yanking me
