Chapter 6: Vincent appeared

Mathew parked his car in front of a very luxurious building. He quickly got off to open the car door for Louis, politely inviting him out. Katherine sitting beside also quickly opened the car door and got out.

She looked up at the 80-story building filled with bright electric lights. This place was known as the most luxurious party place in S city. Not everyone who had a lot of money could organize events there. All of the participants in tonight's cocktail party were prominent figures in the business and political world. So this was the reason Katherine insisted on going. The rare opportunity to gather such information would not be too much, while Louis only gave her 2 months to try the job.

Louis talked to Mathew a few sentences, then turned to look at Katherine, who was still brooding. He frowned, and coldly asked, "Still not going inside?"

Katherine wore a black slit dress that hugged her body tightly, highlighting every prominent curve on her body. The curly platinum hair looks extremely noble. She hurried to Louis's side, hesitant to take his hand.

Louis understood her anxiety. He took the initiative to reach out to her. Katherine immediately understood and took his hand. The two of them walked inside.

The security guard, after checking Louis's invitation card, invited him inside. A polite waitress came to greet them and took them to their place.

Today's cocktail party was originally a buffet, not a sit-down one. However, there were two rows of seats closest to the stage for VIP guests. As the CEO of one of the most powerful corporations in the country, Louis would naturally have a seat here.

“Louis, long time no see. Has your corporation implemented any new projects recently?” A middle-aged man walked up to him, offering him a glass of dark red wine.

Louis thanked and accepted it, his handsome face did not show a smile, only faintly replied, "Currently still focusing on the new headquarters in country M, if there is a new project that needs Sir Robert’s help, I hope you will give me a hand.”

Robert Gray laughed, "It’ll be my turn to help you, Louis? If that's the case, then it's my honor…” Before he finished, he turned his attention to Katherine beside him, and asked with some surprise:

“This lady is…?”

Until now, Robert Gray had never seen any of the girls accompanying Louis to the party.

Katherine smiled, bowed slightly to him, and replied, "Hello, Sir Robert Gray, my name is Katherine Jeremy."

However, what Robert was interested in was not her name. He continued to look at Louis as if wanting more answers from him.

Louis took a small sip of his wine, shoving one hand in his pocket. His back was straight, and his face was full of confidence, glancing down at Katherine from above, then said to Robert, "You think who she is?”

“Beautiful couple, of course, the person who accompanied Louis to the party today is not ordinary. Very matching.”

"Really like a couple?" Louis suddenly put his arm around Katherine's shoulder, pulled her close to him… His tone was nonchalant, mocking her, "Yeh I also think so."

After Robert Gray left, Katherine pushed Louis away, her clear eyes looking at him without anger, "My great boss, Louis William has great authority and dignity, I can't be worthy of you. I'll go out for a bit."

Louis watched her back leave, curious in his heart. Elise Grande wasn't interested in parties like this before, so what did Katherine Jeremy want to come here for?

He was very curious about her intentions.

Katherine took a cocktail from the waiter and took a stroll around the hall. This place converged successful businessmen from all over the city of S - the main economic power of the country. She was thinking about how to strike up a conversation with them. Anyway, for the past 7 years, she hasn't been in S city, so she missed a lot of news…

While Katherine was looking around, she accidentally bumped into a man's back. Katherine came to her senses, she put her wine glass on the table next to her and hurriedly took out a towel from her pocket to give to the opposite person.

“Sorry, I didn't mean to… Just now I…”

As soon as she raised her head, her whole body froze for a few seconds. A tall man turned and smiled gently at her:

"Lady, it's OK…"

Both of them looked at each other in surprise for a moment. Finally, the man spoke first, his voice impossibly cheerful, “Eli… Katherine, why are you here?”

Katherine happily hugged him, this man gently hugged her back. She did not answer his question, but instead asked, "Vincent, when did you come back to the country? It's been a long time since I haven't seen you contact me..."

Vincent Blythe straightened her slightly tangled bangs and replied softly:

“I just got back two days ago. Originally, I was going to arrange some good affairs before contacting you… Why are you here?”

Vincent remembered the important matter and asked her immediately.

Katherine turned to look for Louis William but found him surrounded by many other businessmen. She just smiled and replied:

"I came here with Louis."

"Have you met him?" Vincent was surprised.

“Yes, I am his secretary now. Soon, Hologram will cooperate with Flying Star Corporation. I think I will meet that person soon…”

Vincent patted her shoulder, his voice somewhat comforting, "It's okay Katherine, I'm with you. Let's just do as we discussed."

Vincent Blythe was currently a member of the House of Commons under the National Assembly. He was considered one of the youngest people when he was elected to be a member of the House of Commons representing the state M. In childhood, Blythe and Grande's families were close, so Vincent and Katherine had known each other since when they were babies. However, later, the Blythe family moved to M City, and the frequency of meetings between the two gradually decreased, until a few years ago.

While they were chatting happily, the voice of a man not far away made Katherine jump:

“Oh Senator Gilbert Grande, long time no see. How are you doing?"

Gilbert Grande…

She hid behind Vincent Blythe and was sheltered by him, peeking at the approaching middle-aged man in a black suit. Despite his age, he was still in great shape.

This whole scene was captured by Louis William in his sight. The wine glass in his hand was squeezed so tightly that it seemed like it was about to burst.

Katherine, are you cuddling with another man at the party accompanying me?
