Gael walked through the foyer and into the hall.

Yanni was not downstairs. He took off his coat and asked the housekeeper, “Where’s Yanni?”

The housekeeper knew that Gael and Yanni's relationship was strained and that both of them were clearly in a bad mood tonight. So, she was particularly cautious. “Ms. Yanni had a light meal when she got back and went upstairs afterward. She should be in the bedroom.”

Gael nodded and started up the stairs.

“Mr. Gael.” The housekeeper called out to him from the first-floor hall, but Gael was impatient and was focused on confronting Yanni. So, he replied curtly, “If it’s something important, tell me when I come downstairs for dinner.”

The housekeeper swallowed her words. She actually wanted to tell Gael that there was lipstick on his shirt. Given his arrogant attitude, however, she thought he probably didn’t need her reminder.
