"So, your main job is a doctor?" Helena enquired, savoring the blueberry cheesecake in front of her. She wasn't sure why she wanted this as a snack to go with her cup of chamomile tea this afternoon. Of course, there was a figure there that surprised Helena.

"You could say that." Michael gave a polite smile. He really put a good distance between himself and the woman in front of him to make her feel comfortable. "But if I need to take care of something that involves an important client, I can leave the hospital grounds."

"Too bad." Helena took another bite of her cake. "You're pretty talented with a scalpel, though. A lot of people would like you to pick up hours at other hospitals, right?"

"You know a lot about me." Michael let out a short laugh.

"It's only natural that I know who met me. Twice by accident, and this time it was completely unexpected."

"There's no way I can refuse Tommy Andreas's orders. "He's pretty intimidating, so I'd better not resist his orders," Michael joked to

"So, what brings you to my office, Mr. Tan?" Helena asked, her voice calm. In front of her was a stack of files that Wilna had given her as a reference for their discussion. But Helena wasn't interested in discussing the current production. She was waiting for the right moment to grill Arslan about his work. The woman tried to stay calm and put on her best smile as she faced Arslan, who was really testing her patience. Sometimes she thought, "How could I have been so stupid to give my heart to a man I didn't know at all?"He's a cunning guy who's always trying to be at the top. He plays the part of needing support well, but he also puts pressure on you that you can't ignore."Is my visit inconvenient for you, Ms. Edison?" Arslan took a moment to straighten his back. Since his ex-wife showed up at the meeting, he hadn't looked away. Helena looked different than he remembered. After a while, Arslan started to doubt Helena's identity. In the end, though, he had to accept that the woman i

"Thank you for visiting." Helena was just going to show Arslan out to the door of her meeting room. Not long after Michael got there, Arslan said he had to leave. He said he had some urgent business to take care of.However, Helena thought it was just an excuse Arslan could use. Since then, her ex-husband had been keeping a close eye on Michael. It seemed like the man with the glasses was trying to intimidate people. As it turned out, Helena said that Arslan had ended up playing the role of the ultimate bully when Helena had a lot to do that day."I hope you can change your mind about my invitation.""Spend lunch or dinner with you?" Helena asked with a smile. "I don't want to be ambushed by someone who suddenly shows up. And then make a story with a really horrible headline."Arslan couldn't help but laugh along at the remark, which was accompanied by a dismissive laugh. "You really want a private atmosphere? Just let me know when you have a moment, and I'll make the arrangements. "N

"This is the latest report from our Quality Control department, Helena." Wilna quickly handed her the file that had just come out of the printer. It wasn't much, but what was on it was the most important part Helena needed to know."They work so fast." Helena laughed between her compliments. "I wonder what Arslan will say when he finds out there's a surprise inspection.""Maybe a tantrum?" Wilna added her own amused giggle. "That guy is really quite annoying, Helena. I suppose his reason for coming here wasn't just to discuss production and cooperation with Nakia, but to flirt with you as well.""Let it be." Helena adjusted her glasses. "I don't care what he does. The more he tried to get closer, the more I held on to him so he wouldn't let go. And when he realizes he's the one who's trapped, he won't be able to escape.""You're terrible, Helena." Wilna sat down in one of the chairs in front of Helena's desk. It was just a short distance from Helena's large desk, which was covered with

"Is something on your mind?" Tiara asked, looking curious. Since her fiancé picked her up in the office lobby, he'd been looking a bit burdened. On the way home, Arslan didn't say much. He just went along with all of Tiara's complaints. Normally, even though his tone was a bit annoying, Tiara always knew that Arslan was listening to her.But this time, Arslan was acting differently. Even after they got to the Tan family house, where Mirna and Yori had made a special dinner, Arslan still looked a bit out of place."Honey, Ar... Arslan."Arslan blinked in response to Tiara's voice. Then he looked at the person he was talking to, who had been standing close by. From the look in Tiara's eyes, Arslan could tell she wanted an explanation. Maybe it was because he'd been so focused on the production issue that suddenly fell apart."Nothing." Arslan gave a little smile, trying to calm Tiara down a bit. Try not to let on to his future wife about what happened at Intel Corp. Although Arslan thou

"Am I disturbing you?" Thomas enquired, picking up the snacks on the table. But just as he was about to swallow, he had the feeling that someone was watching him. When Wilna glanced over, it seemed like she wasn't too happy about Thomas eating the snacks she'd prepared for Helena."No problem, right?" Thomas asked, without any sense of guilt. "Is it okay if I eat this, Wilna?"Wilna tried to be patient. She couldn't go against Thomas, who was also her superior. "No problem, Mr. Thomas. No problem. I'll get Miss Helena something else to snack on." But every now and then, Wilna had to speak up a little more forcefully to deal with Thomas' behavior. "Because Miss Helena usually wants an afternoon snack. Miss Helena's pregnancy has meant a few changes to her diet."Thomas didn't say anything. "I forgot my sister was pregnant.""What's the reason for your visit, Thomas? Don't you have a lot of client meetings?"Helena just gave Thomas's childish behavior a quick once-over. She thought he w

"Do you think I should stop by and see Papa?" Tiara wanted to double-check one more time before letting Arslan drive the car out of the house area. Since her future husband got a call from his father, Tiara's feelings have been all over the place. Arslan's face was also more wrinkled and he looked stressed. At least Tiara wanted to help Arslan relieve some of the pressure he was feeling, even if she didn't know what was causing it."No need." Arslan tried to smile to reassure Tiara. It wasn't that he didn't want to invite Tiara, but he thought it would be better if she wrapped up with Deny Jacob and Warren first. On top of that, he wanted to show that he could still handle the problems that came up.That includes this unexpected incident."Okay then." Tiara was trying to show some flexibility. "I was asked by your mother to stay overnight. There are still a few things we need to discuss, particularly regarding Yori. You know, I get the feeling that your sister is feeling down because

"Miss Helena, we'll be at the Edison family's main house in a moment," Michael told her. He glanced into the rear-view mirror to make sure the woman in the passenger seat heard him.Since he was asked to stay close to Helena, Michael has followed her wherever she's gone, including now. He's attending the banquet held at the Edison family's main house. To be more precise, it's the banquet to welcome Helena back to the main house."I know," Helena replied with a small smile. "Everything went smoothly with the banquet preparations, right?""I haven't heard of any issues so far, Miss Helena."Helena's smile got even bigger. "Thanks, Michael. You've been a huge help to me. And can you not call me Miss Helena? It feels a bit awkward. I gave you a heads-up, didn't I? Or should I speak with Mr. Tommy Andreas?"Michael let out a short laugh. "You win. Well, umm... Tiara walked into her future husband's room with a confident stride. Two boutique workers were carrying several suits that would be worn for their upcoming wedding, following behind Tiara. Tiara's growing baby bump was on full display. After all, there was no way she could hide this pregnancy, right?"Can I come in, Darling?" Tiara asked in a pleasant tone. She kept knocking on Arslan's door, but she wasn't planning on waiting for him to answer. When she walked in, Arslan was, as usual, working on some files. But the man's face still looked the same as when he returned last night: agitated and stressed."You're here," Arslan said, trying to smile, but it was difficult because he was under a lot of pressure. He had to wrap things up soon before it was too late. While Arslan's proposal to Deny Jacob was reasonable, there was still the question of whether there was enough time to make the necessary fixes."Have a seat." One thing Arslan needed to focus on right now was his wedding. We ca

“How was your meeting with Angga?” asked Lily, raising an eyebrow. Teasing Gadis, who had met her boyfriend, was the latest fad for the girl who loved white. Especially since Gadis and Angga had to do long-distance dating since returning from Solo. If Gadis said so, that was the risk of being with a prospective doctor. They were at a ramen shop in Bintaro Plaza. Rather than spending the weekend sulking, when Lily invited her out for a moment to the mall area closest to their dorm, Gadis just agreed. Besides, she had nothing to do this afternoon. Considering that her mood was ruined this morning, she was also curious about the afternoon but didn't want to leave the room, so while Gadis' mood was improving a bit, it would be better if she relieved her fatigue a little.“That's how it is,” said Gadis as she took a big bite of her ice cream spoon. Luckily for them, even though it was the weekend, the mall wasn't that crowded. Only a handful of peopl

Angga stared at the food box that Gadis handed him. The twinkle in the eyes of the girl he had been dating for two years was really happy. She hoped Angga might give a little compliment or words that would make Gadis feel good. But to be honest, Angga didn't like it. At all.Let alone like it, he's not even interested in tasting it. It's not a matter of the side dish and what is presented in this neatly and beautifully arranged box. But ... he's like a kindergartner!“I've told you this before, haven't I?” Angga closed the food box that Gadis had given him. He sighed deeply as he stared at Gadis with a look of dislike. “I'm not a kindergarten kid you serve food like this to.”“But it's cute, you know.” The girl opened the returned box again. "Even though it looks like a kindergarten kid, it tastes good. You try it first, Dear," said Gadis as she took one of the slices of meat that she had stir-fried with bulgogi soy sauce. It tasted very tempting to the girl but ...“You eat it yourse

All Gadis could do was take out her earphones and put them on. She played her favorite song and enjoyed the journey to an area where almost all of Jakarta's residents gathered. She enjoyed the weekend with sports and culinary hunting in the available places.Until finally, they arrived at the Grand Indonesia parking lot. They chose to park behind the mall building, which stands strong, hiding the splendor that is one of Jakarta's images: the Grand Indonesia Mall.“We're going straight there, Doctor Angga,” said Amel with burning enthusiasm. ”See you again.”“Be careful. Let me know if anything happens.” Angga smiled slightly, letting the two noisy women leave him. At the hospital, both Amel and Rara were known as cheerful women. There was always something to talk about that made the atmosphere at the hospital even more lively, especially on night shifts. If they were just on duty without any conversation, they could be tempted by things that happened beyond reason.Gadis didn't care a

Anyway, today Gadis is happy. She usually greets the weekend by sleeping in and lazing around even though she eventually cleans up, but this week she deliberately got up early. She has been busy since she opened her eyes and glanced at the wall of her rent house. She has also told her parents that her return this week has been delayed.“I want to meet Angga. While he's at a seminar in Jakarta,” said Gadis cheerfully. It was a Friday evening when Gadis was waiting for the bus. At the very least, her parents had to get some news about her not being able to go home this week.“Oh, that's good. Why wasn't he just invited home? While he's in Jakarta?” At the other end, Gadis's mother was also excited. The girl pouted but luckily their conversation was over the phone so her mother didn't need to see the look on the girl's face that she didn't really like her mother's response. Her mother should have understood Gadis also wanted to spend time with Angga. Longing is hard, to quote the words o

“Wow, if this goes on I could get fat,” said Gadis, chuckling. On her desk were several bengbeng, chocolate-layered biscuits, or other snacks as part of the payment for the Shoes bet. Even though Gadis had not guessed the color that King would wear this morning. The man didn't do anything. Most of the time, King always went to Mr. Ubud's room, not knowing what they were talking about. Maybe it had something to do with his 1 billion project. Gadis doesn't cared even though she was driving all night last night, occasionally listening to King argue and express his opinion. What King said about the meeting was true. And most of the time King communicated in English, which the man spoke so fluently. It didn't seem like he needed to think long to find the right word. King was indeed good at negotiating.“Exciting, huh?” asked Tania, which surprised the girl. But then she laughed.“Yes, you know. Exciting.”“Every

Sleeping in an emotional state is not good. The heart is not too calm and sleep is not restful. Gadis felt it all until she woke up early in the morning. Her look was still wrinkled, her face was frowning and actually there was no desire in her heart to work. But ...“I'm not a child. If I take a sudden leave today, Kingkong will definitely win. Besides, why is his damn attitude getting worse every day? He just uses his authority as a boss at will.” She also pulled back the covers. The clock on the wall of her room showed only 4 a.m., but Gadis was used to getting up that early.First, she made her own lunch and packed a lunch. During her college years, she never forgot to bring lunch from home. Besides, she wouldn't waste the opportunity if, when making certain snacks, there were always college friends who ordered. It was not a bad idea to have extra snacks or money that could be saved to ease her college expenses.Secondly, she liked buy sna

It's okay with me too." Mario chuckled. ”Sooner or later, I'll find out who you're really dating.”It felt like King didn't just want to swear, but to hit Mario on the head with the placemat in front of him. Unfortunately, if he did that, his mother could go on a rampage like a lion.“Whatever.” King shrugged. ”You can believe it or not, it's up to you.”Mario still showed a wide grin. “Look, Mr. King, you're the one who doesn't want to lose.” He moved his dining chair closer to King's. Dinner was over, but Priska wouldn't let them leave. Because of what?As soon as King left his chair, he would definitely go into the room. “Dis,” Lily called, looking at her best friend with concern. The fried rice that she had been craving to eat together no longer tasted good. Not because she hadn't eaten it, but... “You'll choke if you eat it like that.”“Danger, girl.” Manda warned. “Have a drink first.” She offered the cold water that Manda had just taken out of the refrigerator. “You've been grumbling all this time. You'll get old before you know how to taste!”“I'm getting old,” said Gadis immediately at the glass that Manda had just offered. she also tried to swallow her fried rice even though it was a bit difficult. one sip, the water in the glass ran aground. leaving her lips looking wet. her portion of fried rice was already a little left. not until two or three mouthfuls, Gadis' portion was only left in its place.“If that happens, you're blaming Kingkong's existence!” Gadis' eyes looked like they were emitting fire. Lily and Manda had just arrived at the living room of the rent house where Gadis lived. Luckily, Gadis could find a comfortable and cheap place. The price that Gadis paid every month was the same as the rent that Lily and Manda paid at the rent house where they lived. But the atmosphere and facilities were very different. It was more comfortable and enjoyable to live at Gadis's rent house. No wonder the rooms there are always full. And just when Gadis needed it, one of the residents at number 54 moved out. She said she was getting married and moving with her husband out of town.“Ugh, it's so nice to live here,” said Manda as she folded her arms across her chest. In front of them, there were already three servings of fried rice. Gadis wanted to have dinner together but the menu Lily chose was fried rice complete with sunny side up eggs. For Gadis, the pickles were plentiful.“Yes. I'm jealous too. Anyway, if anyone moves out again, I'll move he
