The Impossible

[ Denise's POV ]

I felt sorry for Mavis after he told me what happened to Ava, and how his Dad was a mastermind to the death of his wife and unborn child, and I fully understood why Mavis hated his dad so much. I also understood why he pinned me to the wall so aggressively after I talked ill about Ava. He must have really loved his wife, and it was really cruel for Mavis's dad to do that to Ava, just because she is from a poor breed, since when did being poor become a crime? I thought to myself.

I was still trying to find a way to console Mavis for making him remember the past, when the doorbell rang. I and Mavis went downstairs to check who was at the door, and it turns out to be Mavis's mom.

"Mom, you should have entered the house instead of knocking," Mavis said to his mom.

"I just felt like it," She said and entered the house. Mavis's mom looked at me before talking. "Why did you punch your father?" She asked, and my heart pounded so rapidly.
