Because I love her

[ Denise's POV ]

I stared at Mavis's mom not knowing what to say. I knew she was going to ask something about Mavis, but I never knew she was going to ask me to make Mavis Fall in Love with me. Like how am I going to do that, when Mavis has thrown his heart in the middle of the ocean where it can never be found.

"Denise" Mavis's mom called my name, and I slowly turned my head to look at her. "What do you say about my favor?" She asked.

"I am sorry Mom, but I can't do it" I said, because I myself know that I can make Mavis fall in love with me.

"Why can't you do it Denise?"

"Because Mavis still loves his wife so much. Just like you said, our relationship is fake, I and Mavis started off with a rough patch, and we don't feel anything for each other" I said.

"Aren't you confident that you can make Mavis forget about his late wife and fall in love with you?" She asked, and I looked at her, and shook my head. "I can't make Mavis fall in love with me," I said.
