Last stage cancer

[ Mavis's POV ]

Hearing the shocking news from my mom really triggered me. My dad and I might not be on good terms but I never wished for something bad to happen to him. He was the best father to me during the times I was growing up. How he landed in the hospital was something I couldn't figure out.

My conference meeting in Paris has not ended, but I had to ditch it, and take the night flight going to America, and all through the time I was on the plane, I couldn't stop worrying about my dad. I hated my father, but I don't want to lose him.

"Your dad is going to be fine, Mavis," Denise said, trying to console me, but I couldn't stop myself from worrying. My mom was crying over the phone when she called me, and I was worried about her. I am her only child and I need to be there to console her.
