[ Denise's POV ]

For the first five minutes, I didn't say a word to Mavis, I was just looking at him, and his last words kept ringing in my ear. Does Mavis really want us to be husband and wife, I thought to myself.

"What are you thinking?" He asked, snapping me out of my thoughts and l looked at him. "You want us to break the deal, and act like husband and wife?" I asked.

"Yes, for Jake's party" He said.

"Jake's party?"

"Yes. A client of Jake is throwing a party for him, so we should go to the party and act like husband and wife, that's why we got married, right?" Mavis asked, looking at me.

"Yes of course," I answered, nodding my head. I curse myself so many times, for almost falling for his words.

Mavis wants us to act as husband and wife when we attend Jake's party. I guess this is the time for Mavis to inflict pains on Jake.

I have no idea why he is doing that to his cousin, I couldn't ask Mavis the reason why he hates and wants to cause pain to Jake.
