Chapter 4

In Cruglow, Jake stared at his phone with a livid expression.

Ever since receiving that message, he had been calling me over and over, but he could not get through.

He knew I never had a habit of staying out overnight, and I certainly would not hand my phone over to someone else.

So, he wondered who the hell had sent him this reply?

Jake’s eyes remained fixed on the phone. After taking a deep breath, he reached for another phone with a new number from his desk and dialed again.

However, no matter which phone he used to call, the same response came from the other end.

“Sorry, the number you are trying to reach is currently on another call.”

Jake could not hold it in any longer. He grabbed his phone and threw it at the wall.

The phone shattered on impact and broke into pieces that scattered across the floor.

His anger surged. With a sudden burst of fury, he slammed his fist onto the nearby desk.

The dented desk offered him only a slight release from the rage boiling inside.
