'A recording would...' Olivia and Oliver both paled. They could imagine their bad ending.
"Why would Oliver try to steal something, we do not lack money to buy things." Mr. Park commented. He could not think of any reasons behind his son's said shameful actions.
"From CCTV footage, we found out that the stuff, he took some sheets from Olivia's bag which was in the music room. He thought it was hers." Right now, Layla had no plans of stopping. She was going to tell them everything in detail. "The sheets, the whole music club had been searching were in his possession when I and Olivia went to him."
She continued, "His actions have not only caused the trouble to the club, but to Olivia also. As for why he did so, it would be better for the siblings to tell you the reason."
Every word entering their ear was like a shock to them. They were stupefied. The confidence with which she spoke was enough to tell them that their kids are the ones at fault.
They both had been kept in the dark. But the question is, would they reprimand their children for their mistakes after showing such ugly behavior in front of outsiders.
Soon the clip was forwarded on the principal's mobile.
Layla was also nervous inside; still, she was trying her best not to show her true emotions outside. On the other hand, the Park twins were filled with anxiety too.
The principal played the video clip and made it easy for others to see his mobile screen.
They could clearly see that Oliver climbed on a tree with some papers in his hand. While Layla was chasing after him in sports uniform with a sobbing Olivia in tow.
The scene was followed by an argument between Oliver and Layla. Too bad the video clip did not have any sound. They couldn't understand their conversation at all. But they could still guess that the papers in Oliver's hand were the root of the issue.
They were wondering, how actually Oliver fell down when they saw Layla climbed on the tree to confront Oliver. Since then, Oliver started to panic in the video. His actions were frantic.
They could see that the girl on the tree was moving forward with slow steps, trying not to scare him. But to no avail, Oliver fell down and she could only grab the papers hurriedly.
Mr. Park could see that the girl in front of him didn't push Oliver although she was also responsible for scaring him. As much as he wanted to ignore the fact that it was his son who started the whole drama but he couldn't do so.
The principal could also understand that why a student like Layla is accused of pushing the other student.
Meanwhile, Mrs. Park was furious once again. To her, this was enough to put the blame on Layla even if she didn't 'actually' pushed Oliver but in her eyes, this impudent girl has to bear the burnt with her son.
"Now it is clear that it was your fault that my son fell down. You are responsible for this state of his." Mrs. Park thundered once again causing everyone's expression to change in a fraction.
Layla knew that her approach to the problem was a double-edged sword. Still, she proceeded with this, after all, Mrs. Park's words pricked her heart like a needle.
"Mrs. Park please calm down. As you can see that your son is also at fault." The principal tried to ease the tense air in the room by reminding her that she shouldn't act like all victim.
But, Mrs. Park just refused to understand. "That doesn't mean that she should force my son just for some measly pieces of paper."
"Didn't they tell you that were some important papers for the music club." A sudden voice surprised all of them.
They saw a handsome lad walking inside the room. He was walking in an elegant style with unhurried steps. There was no expression on his face. But people could feel a majestic aura around him, clearly showing his superior upbringing.
'So, he is a new student.' Layla and Ryan had the same thought. They were familiar with the faces of old students plus and he fitted with Lani's description.
'What is Zou Haoran doing here?' the principal was perplexed. He felt like he was riding a rollercoaster ride. He couldn't relax for a second.
Mr. Park could tell that he is no simple lad in front of them. As for Mrs. Park, momentary shocks were not enough to quell her anger nor to suppress it.
"Not as important as my son." Mrs. Park scoffed.
"But he's alive without a single bone broken. Isn't it?" He replied in a mocking tone. Though his comment was just a wild guess, seeing how this couple has been arguing without thinking of taking their son to the hospital.
His behavior was a provocation in Mrs. Park's eyes. First, a beautiful girl had been arguing with them without fear. Now, here comes a handsome brat who is more arrogant than any child she ever met.
"Good evening sir. Mother wants to discuss something important with you." He greeted the principal. Also stated his purpose of visit.
The principal nodded his head in acknowledgment.
"You—" Before Mrs. Park could scold him again, he cut her off.
"I was there... with other three people. This guy on the bed didn't deny her claims when she accused him of theft. He even accepted them. He also didn't deny when she stated his reason for the theft. He wanted to blackmail his sister to surrender her pocket money, using those measly pieces of papers." With a smirk on his face, he explained the incident clearly, unhurriedly. His words were no less than a slap in the face.
Zou Haoran was standing outside of the room for some time. He was waiting for all of this to end. So that he could talk to the principal in peace. Every word entered clearly in his ear so was the actions of a girl standing firm in front of an unreasonable parent.
He could tell that she had no one to back her up; still, she was not backing down despite being in a disadvantageous situation. Thus, he decided to help her and end this farce as quickly as possible. After all, it was him who stopped Caleb from helping her.
"Mr. and Mrs. Park we need to discuss this matter in my office." Dr. Du spoke with no room for negotiation.
"Mr. Du, how could you simply believe the words of a brat. What if he is lying? Maybe this impudent girl here has arranged him." She was thinking too far-fetched as her brain was giving excuses without any proper reasoning.
Mrs. Park's words were unpleasant in the ear of the principal.
But Zou Haoran wasn't angry. In fact, he was smiling.
"Mrs. Park, neither I called you nor I directed you to act like this, here at this hour of the day. So how would I know that something like this would happen, let alone arrange someone beforehand? Please, speak with logic." Layla took advantage of the situation and reprimanded Mrs. Park. Her words had no filter at all. After all, Mrs. Park was having trouble using her brain properly. "By the way, I forgot to mention but I'm a new student and I don't know any one of them since I haven't started attending classes officially. And, if you are unsatisfied with the decision, principal sir will make..." He paused for a second to take a good look at their faces. "...then feel free to call the police. I'm sure the law would be able to give an impartial decision." His voice was mellow and his smile was bright yet... This was enough to prick Mr. and Mrs. Park causing a visible change in their expressions. Calling the police was a huge matter when their own child wasn't
*bang* The door was slammed open harshly which made a loud sound by hitting the wall. "Don't release your frustration on the poor door," Lani said. Layla snorted in response. Lani lives in the Girls' hostel and Layla is her roommate, right now, whose distorted expression is enough to describe her foul mood. "Have something first. There are your snacks.” Lani pointed with her finger. “Anyways you don't look good with an empty stomach." Lani had later found out the reason why exactly her roommate hadn't come back from school. Thus, she decided to take care of some things beforehand. "Hmm. Lemme change. Thanks, Lani." In response, she just smiled. Having a good roommate i
In the middle of the night, a suppressed sobbing sound was resonating in the silent room. Although someone was trying hard to suppress their sobs yet the absence of noise in the room made it easier to discover. This woke Layla. She sat drowsily and reached out for her phone to switch on the flashlight. She roamed the light source in her hand and saw that a blanket mount was trembling on the bed. She turned on the lights in the room at the very instant. When lights flashed on Lani’s face, she pulled her blanket to block every ray disturbing her sleep but soon Layla’s worried voice calling Opal entered her ears. She snapped out from her dreams. "Umm…" Squinting her eyes, she analyzed the situation first then picked her mobile only to see it's 3:30 in the morning. There were still some hours left before they would start their day.
"You can't skip Sports class today." Layla said to the boy who was planning to skip the sports period again. Placing both of her hands on her hip, she didn’t stop her complaints. “Just because of you, I have to come up with a new excuse every time sir asks about you. Do you even have any idea how much he misses you.” Her last sentence was filled with sarcasm.Seeing her firm stance, Ryan sighed. He knew no matter what he couldn’t escape today. Like a tired person, he replied in defeat. “Fine, I’ll go to the ground.”“At least let him know you are fit and fine.” After finishing her piece of advice she left, trusting his words.…-Sports Ground-On the ground, students were engage
-The Canteen-"Let's sit there." Lani suggested, counting the number of people going to dine together in her head. It was supposed to be five people meeting but an uninvited guest, Zou Haoran joined them too. Well, his presence wasn’t that unexpected when they actually took his only friends in the school.Without wasting any time those four sat down. Zou Haoran and Opal sat on either side of Caleb. While Lani chose to sit in front of Zou Haoran leaving two seats empty. After some time, Layla and Ryan joined them. "Sorry, we are a little late."They run their eyes across the table to scan those three in front of them. Only Zou Haoran seemed to be a little out of place. Everyone was having a canteen meal except him. His food was brought by his driver, prepar
All the tiring classes were over. It was time to leave. Some were leaving, exhausted and some were filled with excitement in the anticipation of completing their plans. Meanwhile, Zou Haoran was waiting for his friends in the car. Not after long, Caleb arrived. "Where is she?" Zou Haoran asked, seeing no sign of Opal with him. Caleb just opened his mouth to answer but at the moment she came."Sorry, I was a little late." Zou Haoran nodded his head, "Let's go". They had plans to visit Zou Haoran’s new place. His parents bought a house so that he could live with comfort even if he is not with them. Their new school wasn't near to their residents despite being in the same city leaving them with no choice but to make these arrangements.
Layla’s expressions were urging her to spill the beans and break this suspense she was creating."You know… they told me that he’s an excellent student, a topper. They found it from their networks." Her eyes were sparkling as she was practicing one of her liked activities."Hmm…Topper?" Lani nodded."There is a rumor but no one dares to speak it loudly..." Lani had lowered her voice. She was whispering. “...that he might have some connections with the Zou family.”“Isn’t it... just an assumption.”Layla shook her head. Then she remembered that he seemed to be rich. “Did something slip from your tongue?” Her eyes were looking at her sharply.Lani gulped under h
Layla was standing in front of a shop. Her head was up, looking at the name written on the top of it. The shop’s name was Aroma where the 'O' was replaced with the beautiful top view of a cup of coffee. When she entered, a bell chimed on her head making the owner aware of someone’s arrival. She went to the counter and smiled at the old man who looked like in his fifties. "Hello, Uncle Fu, I’m here on time."He was the owner of the shop. He flashed a fatherly smile at her. "Hello, little girl. Are you ready?"She nodded. “Find your aunty Fu in the back room.” He showed her the way to enter a room behind the counter. This shop was run by the Fu couple. Due to Frs. Fu’s health, they were having some difficulties in menia
