Lucian kept me behind a log of wood.

"Stay here, don't go anywhere," he paused and added, "-and don't look back."

I nodded hesitantly and Lucian stepped out.

"What is this, Lucian?!" began one of the frontier men, "You violated the rule and you want to leave scot-free?"

"You know I don't believe in this goddess of a thing, man" replied Lucian, "I also don't keep set up rules in my head. I didn't know a human is not allowed in the werewolf's world."

"Don't bullshit us, Lucian!" growled the man, "You will have to face punishment! Give us the girl, and we'll let you go!"

"Or?"

"Or you die and we still take the girl!"

Lucian smirked, "Here me out," he paused and added, "How about you clear the way for I and my wife to pass and nobody has to die?"

Silence ensued with both men studying the other's move.

I heard the frontier man call, "Attack!"

And then the ground shook with tremendous power. I feared for Lucian. They did say he's powerful but only him cannot defeat that number of men
