Chapter 16 - A Lingering Thought

Natalie left Dominic’s office with her heart still racing. The conversation had gone better than she had expected, but she knew it was far from over. She could see the uncertainty in Dominic’s eyes, the way he was grappling with the possibility that their lives could be changing in such a profound way. But that was okay—she didn’t need everything to be decided right away. This was just the beginning, and she was willing to let things unfold slowly, one step at a time.

As she walked back to her office, Natalie couldn’t help but feel a strange mix of emotions. She hadn’t taken a pregnancy test. She hadn’t seen a doctor. All she had were the signs—being late, the fatigue, the queasiness. But those could be explained by other things too
