Melanie said with determination, “Then, please explain to me if, in theory, my fingerprints were really left behind by the murderer, does that mean that the tool he used is made of silicon?”

The captain picked up that taser and sniffed it with his nose. Other than the smell of burnt metal caused by the electricity surge, there was no other scent...

“Replicating one’s fingerprints does require the use of silicon, but because silicon has a strong smell, a professional would have removed the scent. There won’t be any scent left behind.”

The captain suspiciously explained to them. “I’ve given it a sniff, and there’s no smell. Try smelling it yourself.”
