Melanie would not stop crying.

Jeffrey was worried she might have hurt herself. He frantically hugged her while he continued to massage her tense arms and shoulders.

"I won't forgive you!" Melanie blurted out after a long time. It sounded like she was seeking attention.

"Alright. You don't have to forgive me."

"You can forgive whenever you feel like it. I won't rush you," he added.

"What do you mean by 'whenever'? I won't ever forgive you!" She whacked his chest several times.

Jeffrey seemed to be enjoying her outburst.

"Leave! I don't want to see you!" Melanie exclaimed stubbornly.

She had vented enough and started to push him away.

"It's mine now!" She uttered in a bossy manner.

Jeffrey noticed she was getting worked up again. Worried that she might get hurt, he quickly agreed and got up to leave.
