Emma's POV

Alex hung his head, feeling dejected. He turned around and looked out of the window, possibly to hide the sorrow overwhelming in his eyes. I asked, “Alex… Are you okay?”

“Yeah, I am.” He took his time to reply and turned to look at me with the same bright smile he always does. But there was something about this smile which made it look dishonest, he was faking it.

I said, “I am sorry…”

“Hey, don't be.” He patted my head, “I love you, you are not obliged to reciprocate it to me. If anything, you have already reciprocated the love to me with the kindness you showed. I was supposed to die that day, I had accepted my fate but you gave me a second chance and motivated me to achieve whatever I am today.”

I fell silent.

Back when I was still in the city, Alex once told me about this in a drunk spur. I was shocked to know what all he had done just to be able to stay in the same pack as me.

Ironically, it reminded me of myself but with Draven. I was the same hopeless romantic, wan

Emma's POVAlex and I sat at our table, drinking champagne, observing the crowd and waiting for the right moment. Whenever someone approached us, Alex did all the talking and made sure I did not have to talk much as it would threaten my identity.Thirty minutes later, Alpha Gracy, the Alpha of the pack finally showed up! He looked delighted as he walked up to his daughter and hugged her. The marriage of their daughter is everyone's dream and it was showing on his face how content he was right now.As far as I remember, Stella's father was not very happy with Draven in the initial days. His resistance to him grew stronger when he married me after Stella went into a coma. But now, he seemed to have accepted him for the sake of his daughter.Poor Alpha! I wonder how he will react when he finds out his daughter is not as innocent as she looks. Alex chuckled softly, piquing my curiosity. I gulped down the champagne in my mouth and asked, “What are you giggling about?”“Alpha Gracy must h

Emma's POV“Kidnapped?”“Human traffickers?”The crowd started to chatter amongst themselves when they heard my allegations. Right after I got kidnapped, Draven's mother died and he disappeared. The pack was already going through so much that I never told people about what happened to me. Alex even encouraged me to go and file a report in the police station for my own safety but I refused as I was naively believing that Draven was looking into it and he would protect me.Draven's expressionless face clouded with seriousness, “What? Who is it?”I was taken aback by his question. Why… why did he want to know the identity of the culprit? Did he not disappear for two whole months and made it clear to me that he did not care about it!I came here hoping for Draven to not be ready to listen to me and chase me out of the venue. But now, that he was totally deviating from the script I have in my mind, I don't know what to do.Stella, who was watching all of this, finally spoke up, “Emma, what

Emma's POV“What is happening?” Alpha Gracy was growing impatient and he snatched the document from his Beta's hand to take a look himself. He was furiously turning the pages but as soon as he too understood the content, his prideful face turned as pale as that of a ghost. He looked at his daughter and asked, “Stella, what is all this? Did you pay those men to kidnap her?”“I… I…” Stella could no longer deny or accept the truth in front of everyone.Even though she did not admit to it, people were not dumb. They know what had happened and started to criticize Stella without holding back.'Oh my God, can you believe this? She looks so innocent and harmless but she tried to get that poor girl sold.’'I never expected this from her. Alpha Gracy is such a good man, who would have thought his daughter would be such a bad nut.’'Imagine being a girl and capable of such sinister things. I wonder why she did it?’‘'Isn’t it evident? Emma's POVNo one came forward to help, even Alpha Gracy, who was responsible for the protection of everyone within his pack territories was standing there, stunned at the sight of his daughter who had gone savage.“I will kill you.” Stella growled at my face, “I was living a good life. Draven was mine but you had to come and ruin everything.”I managed to use all my force and pushed her aside, while she was on the ground, I attempted to run away but she grabbed my leg and pulled me back.I fell on the ground and she pinned me down, trying to dig her dagger right into my throat, “Why did you do this, huh? You are a rank-less wolf who was picked up from the forest. You are no one, why do you think you could be the Luna of a pack? Bitches like you who steal the lives of other women should be kicked out of the pack.”“Stella, stop!” I said but she was in no right mind to listen to me.“You are a whore and you deserve to be in a whore house.”“Enough.” Draven grabbed Stella and practicall

Draven's POVAs soon as Emma walked out of the room, Alpha Gracy fell on his chair, exhausted. He asked his Beta to take the contract Emma had just signed and keep it safe. Of course, he was prioritizing it like a gem, his daughter's life and death depended on it.I walked up to the window and slightly moved the curtains to see Emma striding off.Alpha Gracy's mansion was in a scheduled area with no cab or public transport services. She came here with Alex but he was already sent back to the Silvermoon pack to get his treatment done. There was no way she could find a ride back home.I called Robin and muttered to him, “Send a car to take her back to the pack and make sure she reaches home safely.”The Beta nodded and walked off.I kept watching Emma until the said car stopped next to her. After exchanging a few words, she hopped in and the car sped off.My phone pinged and it was just Robin sending me a thumbs-up sign, notifying me that the work was done.Just then, Alpha Gracy, who h

Emma's POVI walked out of the house without even knowing where I was or where I was supposed to. This was my first time coming to the riverside pack and I had no idea how it functioned. I was too prideful to go back in and ask for directions so I just walked on the one road in front of me, hoping I could reach a highway or something from where I could get a transportation back home.I only came here by the grace of Alex, since he was injured and unconscious in the hospital, I really had no one to contact or rely on.But fortunately, Alpha Gracy was not an asshole when it came to being a good host to his guests. A car drove in my direction and came to a halt right next to me. The driver explained that the Alpha has arranged for drivers to drop guests back to their home.“No no, I don't belong to the Riverside pack. They just naturally put me in a good mood and make my day better if I was having a shitty one. Now, I wanted to mess with him.I said, “Sure. But he won't do it for free.”“What do you mean? What is even the meaning of the word ‘free’ here?” The little kid lifted his head from the plate.I said, “No one will want to keep risking their life for their friend. Emma's POVThe soft beeping of the heart monitor was the first thing I heard as I slowly regained consciousness. My head was foggy, like I had been submerged in water, struggling to break the surface. My limbs felt heavy, as though they were made of lead, and every inch of my body screamed in pain. But the worst part? The cold, empty feeling in my chest. I couldn't remember what had happened. I couldn't remember how I had ended up here, lying in a hospital bed, surrounded by bland white walls.I tried to open my eyes, but they felt weighted, unwilling to obey my command. With a small groan, I forced them open, squinting against the bright lights above me. The world around me was blurry, the shapes and figures shifting like shadows. But I could make out the figures of my children—Asher and Ashel—sitting beside me, their faces filled with relief, their eyes wide with worry.
