I rushed toward Leo and sank to my knees beside him. I gently lifted his head and cradled it in my lap.
At that time, the beta of our pack, Gerald Lie, told the guests to leave. But they did not leave as they saw their head Alpha in that condition.
"Leo, what happened to you?" I said while crying.
His skin was cold. His body did not move in response to cries and screams. More than that, it was clear that he was not breathing.
I choked back tears as I stroked his blood-soaked hair.
"Wake up," I whispered, not believing what I had heard from the crowd.
“Please, wake up!”
I started to shake him, my heart pounding in my chest. “I am here. Open your eyes. Don't scare me like this."
But he did not respond. He remained still, lifeless in my arms.
I cried out in anguish, my grief overwhelming me. I could not believe he was gone. It did not seem real.
It was like a nightmare!
No one from our family let out anything. I ignored them and stared at Leo’s dead body.
My father came up to me and took my hand.
"Violet, he is dead.”
“NO!”
I let out a scream in disbelief, yanking my hand. I shook my head and said,
“No, Dad. He is not dead. He is just unconscious. Why did you bring him here? He should be in the hospital.”
I could not believe that no one was listening to me. I cried as I held Leo in my arms. He did not move at all, which increased my fear.
I had no words to describe the level of pain I was feeling inside.
My father-in-law, Wesley Easton, let go of his wife, Clara, and approached me. He put his hand on my shoulder and uttered in sorrow.
"He had a car accident. He is dead, Violet. He is no more.”
I lifted my head to meet his gaze. Tears were streaming out of my eyes, making my vision blurry.
“D-Dad, he…”
I did not know what to say.
My husband, my life partner, my mate, was dead?
Even though he never marked me, he accepted me as his mate in his heart. I believed it.
Two days ago, the crown ceremony was held to crown me the Luna of this pack. He agreed to mark me on the night of our first anniversary.
That was why I was so eager for tonight, to get his mark, to become his completely.
But…
He died before he could give me the precious anniversary gift.
Tears rolled down my cheeks. My heart felt like a glass that had cracked and then shattered. My heartbeat slowed down. I almost felt like dying.
All four officials moved toward me, trying to take Leo away, but I begged them not to do that.
He was the only person I truly loved. He was the man who shone like the sun in my dark sky, lighting my life.
I did not want to live alone. I wanted nothing but to be with him.
After a long mourning, they took Leo away from me forever.
I was no longer his happiest wife, but rather his widow.
My happy life changed in a single night.
My life turned colorless.

Days passed like years.
It was afternoon.
Sitting inside Leo's car, I remembered him. I was on my way to the cemetery. It had been one month since Leo's death. I wanted to meet him.
The weather was rainy. The black clouds were darkening the sky.
When I arrived at the cemetery, I stood in front of Leo's grave with a bouquet of roses. I dropped to my knees and cried alone.
My father-in-law, Wesley, had sent his butler who was around his age and a few guards to ensure my safety. When they noticed me crying, they turned around and guarded me.
After about an hour, I slowly stood up and wiped away my tears.
"Leo, I do not want to live without you."
I looked down at my long white dress before shifting my gaze to Leo's grave. I bit my lower lip and murmured,
"I promise you, Leo. I will never give anyone your place in my heart."
My gaze drifted to the ring I was wearing. Just like other jewelry, I would have to take it off. That was the rule.
I heard the sound of thunder as the raindrops started to fall on my head.
Within a few minutes, heavy rain began to fall.
I made up my mind and tried to remove the ring. I would keep it safe with me.
"Luna, it's pouring. Let's go back. You will catch a cold," the butler said as he turned to face me.
I ignored him as I kept trying to take the ring off my ring finger. It got tight around my finger.
After several attempts, I grabbed it tightly and pulled the ring with great force.
I successfully removed the ring from my finger. However, the ring fell to the ground.
I blinked in the rain as I lowered my head to look at the ring. I saw it rolling in a direction.
It kept rolling until it stopped against a pair of black shoes.
I did not mind as I rushed to the ring and kneeled to grab it.
While grabbing the ring, my fingers brushed against the shoes, drawing my attention to the pair of long legs dressed in black jeans.
My gaze moved slowly upward, eventually reaching a black shirt. As my gaze moved to the person's face, I heard the butler's trembling voice from behind.
"Young Master Daniel!"
As soon as he finished speaking, my gaze met the person's dark eyes.
My breath hitched as I realized the person was none other than my husband’s rival, Daniel Collins.
Under the rain, his handsome face with cold eyes pierced me as if I was his biggest enemy after my husband.
His thick brows furrowed at me, and I gasped. I could not help but murmur in a low tone,
"Y-Young Brother-in-law."
Even though it was pouring heavily, he was standing tall in front of me in his black attire, which was as dark as the night. There was something in his eyes that scared my inner wolf. I gulped, trying to shift my gaze away from his piercing eyes.A man rushed toward him from behind, holding an umbrella over his head.I was staring at Daniel.Even though the umbrella was now shielding him from the rain, her face was wet. I felt shivers around my spine because of his touch. With slow motion, he lifted my chin, making me look at him again. When I looked at him again, a smirk formed on his lips. His eyes stared into mine as if they could see through me.With a smug look on his face, he muttered,"Teary eyes, pale face, broken h

I was shocked. He noticed my reaction and let out a sigh. "I think I should go to my car.
