It was Dansk, who strangely hadn't died with Zander like the other vampires. Recognizing him, Norma pointed at him, but Dansk didn't seem to care.
“He's your brother,” Dansk repeated. “Zander raised him from a young age. He is the son of Darius and Amira, given to seal a peace pact many years ago.”
Dan looked at Andrew, who was staring at him and apparently crying. He was giving up fighting to get free.
“Zander never told you, Andrew,” Dansk walked over to them and put a hand on Dan's arm. “Although you knew you were a wolf, he never told you whose son you were, and now I tell you, I accompanied him in your upbringing. He is your brother.”
“It's the truth,” Darius said from the entrance door, everyone turned again towards the newcomer, even more surprised to see that the naked guy in front of them and that they knew, recognized that he was a wolf.
Norma lowered her gun slowly and then sat
Sitting on a bench facing the Hudson River Bay, Norma watched the river and its surroundings, thinking. It had been a shock to her to know that Dan was the dangerous creature they were looking for and he had caused so much damage to the vampires. She now understood Zander's stubbornness with him and the attacks he made on them. She was trying to assimilate how someone who was apparently so timid and peaceful could turn into something so dangerous and fierce, although in her mind anything was possible, especially after everything she had seen throughout her career. She really shouldn't be so surprised, although she was having a hard time accepting her new reality, especially when she was feeling so in love with him.Absorbed in her thoughts, she felt someone sit next to her, but she didn't flinch, thinking it was some stranger. What she least wanted was to have a forced conversation with someone, so she thought about leaving.“I'd like to explain my reasons why I
The two groups of luxury cars, about fifteen or twenty each, were arriving at the agreed area on the outskirts of the city and on the grounds of an abandoned industrial complex. They stopped at a safe distance from each other, face to face, and after a few seconds their occupants began to descend. From the first car of the group that had arrived from the south a tall, blond man, elegantly dressed and around fifty-five years old, got out of the rear seat, who buttoned his suit as he stood in front of his vehicle. On the other side of the car, another blond man got out, about sixty-five years old, who, unlike the first, was not in a suit, but was dressed casually. He stood next to the first in front of the vehicle. “I still have a bad feeling,” said the older man, named Christopher. “Are you sure about this, Darius?” “Zander assured me he wants peace too, brother,” Darius replied. “We won’t have a better time than this.” “I think you are risking too much. You shouldn't have brought yo
Darius had a little trouble convincing Amira to agree to comply with Zander's request. It was the only way to achieve the long-awaited peace that he wanted for his people. “And how do you know he'll keep his word not to hurt our child?” Amira replied, with tears in her eyes. His combative and ferocious spirit prevented him from agreeing to offer one of his own, and especially a son, to a sworn enemy like the vampires. “Times have changed, my love.” Darius gently wiped away her tears with his thumbs. “It’s no longer worth going to war with our enemies just because it’s in our genes. It's been years of fighting and suffering that I want to end once and for all, and if that's the price, I'm willing to pay it. There aren't many of us left anymore; we have always been persecuted by both men and vampires and have brought us to the brink of extinction. It's time to have some peace.” “I agree with you, my love,” Amira whispered in the middle of the tears that were beginning to die down. “Bu
Daniel never needed to transform again until he was twenty-five years old, when an unfortunate incident occurred. He had a girlfriend his own age named Brooke, who he had met in college, a normal girl and very beautiful. They loved each other very much. So much so that they were already beginning to make plans for the future despite being so young. Since Daniel was already working with his father and had become independent, he was willing to live with her and once asked her to move into his apartment with him. She did not accept at first, thinking that perhaps they would have to slow down their relationship a little, despite future plans. It was one thing to plan, and another to begin to carry out the plans, she said. There would be time for everything. Of course, she didn't know that Daniel was a lycanthrope, and he was waiting for the right moment to tell her, hoping she would take it in the best way and not reject him, appealing to the love and trust they had until that moment. The
Christopher spent all of sunday with Daniel, who was still in frequent spasms and tremors, and apparently suffering from the effect of the venom on his body. He wasn’t explained how, after so many hours, he was still alive. He thought that perhaps the amount of venom in his body was not enough to kill him, but he immediately dismissed that possibility since he had seen throughout his life how many of his own died with just a superficial bite. Daniel's was a deep bite, which meant the amount of venom injected could be a lot. Even Dansk, who came to visit him from time to time, was surprised by the boy's resistance. Sitting each on one side of the bed, they watched as Daniel was torn between life and death, both thinking and reviewing all the knowledge in their minds with reference to werewolves and vampires, looking for some explanation for what was happening to that boy. And thinking above all about why he wasn't dead yet. Suddenly, Dansk thought of something. “You once told me that
Darius and Christopher were still shocked at what had happened with Daniel. They couldn't explain how he was still alive after the attack of the vampire's venom, and especially after they inoculated him with the antiserum that would have allowed that venom to act freely in his body. But their surprise at his situation was nothing compared to the impression they had caused seeing him transformed into something they had never seen before, although Amira seemed not to be so affected, since at no time did she leave his side. In order to better understand what was happening to his nephew, Christopher took a sample of his blood and proceeded to run full tests on it. It took him at least an hour to finish, coming to the startling conclusion that Daniel's genes had been modified, or perhaps adapted to the effects that the serum, the vampire venom, and later the antiserum, were having on him. He noticed that Daniel was no longer the same; he had mutated into something else that was neither fu
Dansk's presence, while not to Darius's liking, was necessary. He felt a little uncomfortable with his presence, but he was able to tolerate him for the sake of Daniel's well-being.“I'd like to ask you a favor, sir,” he said to Darius as soon as he walked into Christopher's lab. Despite the fact that the latter did not answer him and only limited himself to observing him, Dansk continued speaking.“My presence here must not be revealed to Zander... He’s not as tolerant as you are. No one must know that I have communication with your brother. Can you and your family do me that favor?”“It won't be known by me,” Darius said after a few seconds and after thinking about it. “And neither did my wife. Right, honey?”“I won't say anything,” Amira agreed. “Christopher says you can help him treat my son. Can you?”“I'll do what I can, ma'am, and thank you very much,” Dansk thanked them both, and then, turning to Christopher:“I'll need the tests you've done on him so far. Has he been like thi
As she always did once a week, Sergeant Norma Pine was in the NYPD shooting range, practicing with her Glock 9mm. She had already emptied two clips when her partner and mentor, Lt. Roy Rodiak, came looking for her. He knew that she would be there, like every Tuesday morning, practicing. He waited for her to empty the clip, then touched her shoulder. She immediately turned around and when she saw him she smiled at him, taking off her hearing protectors.“I see you've decided to practice again,” she told him, readying her Glock again. “I’m glad.”“Don't get so excited,” Roy told her. “Come on, we have work.”Norma Pine is twenty-eight years old, ten of whom in the police force. She had recently managed to reach the rank of sergeant with a lot of work, effort and dedication. She likes her profession, and with the new rank she would have to decide whether to continue on the streets as a homicide detective or dedi
