“Call the law of nature

Heed my desperate cries

Cool what hast lived in the wind

Crystal ice heaven shall send”

A rain of crystalize ice poured down towards the vice-captain. I stumbled back receiving the impact of the heavy spell. Mist and dust covered the surroundings and shards of ice were stuck on the ground. When the smoke dissipated a taken aback vice-captain was standing there holding her right arm which was bleeding and the blouse of her uniform was torn revealing the wound caused by the ice shards in her shoulder. Her eyes were in fury, without wasting time she raised her wand, performed a quirk and threw a spell at me.

“Seething fire of judgment,

Burn my adversary

Before their eyes show your fury!”

The red orange fire blasted towards me ready to engulf me whole. It was exceptionally fast. I casted a Defendio defensive spell but was not fast enough, I receive burns in my arms. I circled wind in my burnt arm reducing the pain I was feeling. I decided to cast a floating spell and fight in the air.

“Why are you doing this?!” I shouted at the vice-captain. I don’t even know her name yet, but for some reason her anger was like a resentment born from a very long time.

“You don’t need to know, after all you will die here,” she said directing another spell towards me. I easily deflected it but a following spell was already flashing in front of me. I floated higher to evade it but a dashing spell was already above me. I glanced at the fire mage below which now has a smug look on her face despite the injuries she has incurred. I took a long deep breath, closing my eyes, and began meditating, when I opened my eyes, I spoke a spell that will change the flow of this fight. I don’t know if I will be strong enough to perform this successfully but it’s now or never.

“Reversa Tatama!” using a basic spell that could create a boomerang effect, I fused my wind attribute and half of my remaining mana in the redirecting spell. And from above I raised my hand and wand; looking down at the opponent I pushed the accumulated power with all my might letting the vice-captain have a taste of her own medicine.

I panted hard as I landed on the floor. When I came down the layer of smoke from the explosion was already beginning to settle and I couldn’t find a trace of the vice-captain. I laid on the ground, unable to stand anymore, the burn in my arm stung and my body was feeling the weight of a giant boulder. I saw the blue sky as I lay in the ground, sigh, despite the good weather my day just became a disaster, I even missed my second lecture. I close my eyes and meditated to lessen the pain hoping to be able to lift a finger while there were still no wizling passing this way. I nearly dozed off when I heard the rustling of leaves near me. I glanced at the bushes on my left and saw something red protruding. It suddenly jumped, revealing a tall young man with a pale red hair. I think I saw him once, ah, he was also there with Johann, the aces. Why am I being hunted by these aces? Sigh.

The only thing I could do was stare at him as he dusted off his uniform, there was still leaves stuck on his red hair. The green leaves were standing out in his blaze like head. When he saw me lying on the ground he jolted with surprise. He even dramatically held his chest, mouth agape while looking at me as if I was dead corpse.

“Oi! Are you dead?” he asked getting closer to me. His face was in panic, not knowing what to do. I chuckled.

“Oi, you’re alive, thank the Gaearandys, but why are you lying here?” he asked. My throat was dry, I swallowed and spoke words that I think would be the most helpful.

“Heal…” I said not being able to finish my word. He looked at me pitifully, and said

“Okay I’ll help you.” He then removed the blazer of his uniform and his boots and pants. My eyes began to widen shocked by the sudden development of the situation. What is he doing? Now only wearing his polo and trunks he sat beside me and murmured incomprehensible words. And as if today’s stupefying events weren’t enough I witnessed another mystifying situation unfold before my eyes. The young man about Johannes’ age sank into a seven year old kid. My jaw dropped, astonished with what I just saw. My aching body suddenly felt light, my burnt hand was fully healed although red patches still remained the pain was gone. The wounds all over my body were all gone but the dried blood and the faint scars that will surely be gone after a few days.

I got up and looked at the child incredulously. It was then that I realized it was the same child that I saw when I opened my eyes after collapsing in the entrance exam. I struggled to think of words to say. I opened my lips to speak but decided to dismiss it anyway. I stared at him only to be answered by another stare. This child has a different atmosphere than the man earlier. That man seems so childish for his age, while this child seems so old for his age.

“Thank you,” I finally said. I figured it would be the course of action given that he saved me. The child nodded. It was too cute that I can’t help but pinch his cheek. A child acting so mature, what a delightful seen. His red hair was long, nearly reaching his shoulder and was brighter than ever.

“S-stop that,” he complained brushing of my hand. I smiled at him. He looked away, lips slightly pouting.

“What’s your name?” I asked him as if I was talking to a child, which was also true. He faced me with contempt.

“I am not a child,” he said emphasizing every word. I nodded while suppressing my smile.

“And my name is Mayo Arammi, number four of the aces, healer.” He formally introduced himself. He stood up and did the greeting. I followed suit. Bowing my head, I introduced myself.

“I am Listarte Moria Graciana, first year, and I thank you for saving my life.” I said. I stood straight and looked at his eyes sincerely. He once again averted his gaze, his ears slightly red. My hand reached out to his head slightly patting his blazing red hair. He looked at me with eyes and whisked my hand away.

“D-don’t treat me like a child! And why are you even doing this?” he asked looking irritated and shy. I chuckled a bit and bid my goodbye as I saw mahò users beginning to crowd the academe grounds.

“It’s a sign of gratitude, thank you Mayo. I need to go now, I’ll repay you soon.” I said and smiled at him. Before he could complain I ran towards the lecture and saw the girls walking to my direction. When Antonella saw me she ran towards me and held my hands.

“Where were you? You even missed the class. And what happened to your clothes? Oh my god did that mage did this to you?” I smiled in attempt to calm her.

“I’m okay Nellie, I just, tripped.” I said and smiled innocently. I should make this issue bigger; after all I would be up against a big name. And I think I’ve resolved it for the mean time.

“Then why are you so late?”

“Oh, the talk got too long, that mage was a wind mage and she asked me to be her apprentice.” I said.

“Really? Oh my god, that’s good news, she seems to know the headmaster and Johann so she must be strong!” Nellie exclaimed.

“Is that why she went to our lecture room?” Euna asked. I nodded in response

“I don’t know the full details yet since she quickly left after our small chat, but any ways. How was the class?”

“Right! It’s a shame you missed it, Professor Joseph was so hot!” Kimi exclaimed. I looked at her with questioning eyes.

“Don’t mind her she just means the professor is good looking. But anyways the real score in today’s lecture is that we will have our class evaluation. So in the next meeting we will perform and our attributes and class will be officially announced” hearing what Nellie said I felt a small tension building up in my body. How could I miss such an important class?

“Don’t worry we’ll fill you up about the evaluation.” Joanna said smiling gently as she noticed my bothered expression.

“Yeah, as long as you also fill us up about you and the captain.” Nellie said giggling. I shoved her with my elbow but she giggled even more.

“So in the evaluation we would be given three chances to prove ourselves. So basically it would be divided into three parts. First, imbuing mana or sending aura from hand to the scale of magic. Second, direct an attack to the tester dummies. And third, perform your most powerful spell. We should prove our worth in at least one of these tests. And of course although it would be enough to do your best in one of the tests we will still take the three. And if you do well in the three tests, you will be given a chance to become one of the aces, and of course after the due process, but the evaluation will play  huge part, as per stated by the professor. ” Nellie patiently explained. I nodded in understanding comprehending all the details.

“Our next schedule would be Friday, so we still have three days to prepare, let’s do our best!” I sighed in relief realizing I haven’t yet missed all of the important parts.

I reminisced all that happened today and cannot help but worry about the chaos I encountered in my first day. The relationship of Johann and that mage left me with uneasiness, and that vice-captain why does she hate me so much? Too many things to think about, sigh. The only good thing today would be that cute little Mayo, but he was still part of the Aces and I’m beginning to think that getting involve with them would be bad news.

Going back to the dorm we passed by the office of the Aces, it was unfortunately the building beside our dorm. We were still happily chatting as we passed by, I caught a glimpse of Johann about to call out to me, but I looked straight ahead ignoring him for a reason I cannot yet comprehend.

“Moria,” Johann called out.I halted and faced him with a practiced smile. Nellie and the others grinned at me and bid their farewells insisting that they go back to the dorms first. I nodded reluctantly accepting the awkward atmosphere between me and Johann.“How’s your day? We haven’t seen each other all day long,” Johann said, plastered in his face was his usual gentle look.My brows met upon hearing his statement. I just saw him this morning after all. Ah, so he really didn’t notice me earlier. For some reason the thought irritated me. But I quickly extinguished the feeling, as I know it was not quite right. I avoided his gaze but later realized it was a wrong decision. I caught a glimpse of the Aces’ office and unfortunately, the vice-captain was inside.“It was alright, I just encountered some ‘bothersome’ incidents,” I said. His forehead

A gale of wind surrounded my body as I performed my quirk. A quick movement of my wand from left to right and twirling it after a strong flick, the drawing in the air was a round emblem filled tangled and elaborate symbols. I felt the tingling sensation the wind leaves as it tickles my body. Remembering the days I was scolded for not being able to feel the wind perfectly, I called and whispered to the invisible lad my desire and my will. “Gentle oh you are wind of the celestialHear my plea and grant us theeShow thy might and thy beautyOh wash away all the sorrow thy see”Above my head formed a whirling wind it was moving fast that it could cut all objects it shall pass, the gale of wind around me lifted me up and the whirl filled the room. After the performances of the top three examinees the other mahò users who have already done their first test immediately performed the remaining tests. When the class evaluation ended the first years went to the dining hall to relax and fill our empty stomachs. All the nervousness was gone now and chatters of excitement was filling the dining hall. The girls, Luther, and I found ourselves seated in our usual spot in the hall.“But why is this man here?” asked Nellie a little agitated while referring to Mayo who was also seated with us in the first year table.“Well, I wanted to eat that’s why I’m here.” Mayo replied, his tone saying ‘obviously’“Well, senior for your information this is a freshman table,” Nellie rebutted.“Well, there isn’t a rule saying I cannot sit here right?” Mayo said while looking at me. “Here is enough, you should go back and get some more rest, don’t act rashly, alright?” I reminded Johann as he delivered me to my doorsteps. He kissed my cheeks, smiled and walked towards the Aces office. The dorm is totally the opposite way, I sighed. He will really over work himself at this rate.I remember what Johann told me earlier, that he wants to give me something so I should make some time for him tomorrow. I wonder what it is. as I pushed the door open I was surprised when the girls were leaning on it resulting to their fall when I entered.“Sorry for that, but what are you lot doing there?” I apologized immediately and wondered why they were there.Everyone then started to spread around pretending to do their own things, Antonella even attempted to clean the ceiling. Ah, I think I know now, they were once again prying; I laughed at my conclusion and entered our room. I sat on my bed and thought of what has transpired today. A goofy grin escaped my lips

After all it’s yours now,” he said grinning.“Just who on their right mind would give a dragon as a gift, so how would I present Quinn to others?” I asked. Johann face turned sour at the mention of the dragon’s name. But he answered anyway.“It would be better to disguise him as baby wyvern that should explain his wings and horns. It’s a relief the other two wings hasn’t sprouted yet.” He explained.“And what should we do when he sprouts the other two wings?”“That should be a problem for the future,” he said and looking at me consciously but still has an impending smile in his face. The surroundings were eerily quiet. As I observe up in the air I saw the devastating aftermath of the battle. I am sure that if ever word comes out to the mahò users the school would be in total panic. And if word comes out to the town it might even bring problems to the whole Island. Just who was that woman? Was she connected to the reason why Monk Amon is currently teaching in the Academe? From the far left side of the forest Mayo suddenly emerged. He ran towards his teammates and checked their bodies for injuries. In a minute he was already transforming into his child form. I decided to go back to the main hall and reserve my questions for later. I mounted my broom and headed towards the others. But as I was above ground I saw something moving in the trees below. Quickly I lowered my altitude and traced the onlooker; he was running to the same direction I was headed to. Strange enough his back was oddly familiar.‘Ma!’

His dark eyes were not even looking at me but I was feeling the sinister being emitted from his body. He was just standing there, after seeing my face he fell into deep thought. Just then he raised his head and casted me a look.“You may go,” he abruptly said which left me wide-eyed.Without hesitation I trotted to room 92 heaving loudly as I successfully escaped that predicament. I could not find it in my head, the reason he let me go so easily. Maybe he realized I was just a simple student about to register her pet.Distracted because

It was the result of the impact she received from making the glass barrier to protect themselves from the fireball that was plunging towards them. The usual light atmosphere from Monk Liya was gone, she was surrounded by a dark atmosphere, and it was a scene one could behold. The most compassionate and calm monk was angry for the second time of her life.“Oh? I did not expect you to survive that, Amon’s monks are more durable than I thought,” the man in the black cape tauntingly said. He was still floating above ground looking down on the monks.Monk Liya gritted her teeth while clenching her hand so hard that it almost made her palm bleed. The man was emitting mana that is overwhelmingly powerful; she knew that if she fought her defeat wou

But I am sure I was not one. I was not born with this hair, through growing up white strands just started to show and now my hair was nearly all white. That was the reason why I cut my long hair and always wear a hat, to hide it from speculating eyes.I fixed my hat and picked up the spray I was using to water the flowers. Just then wind passed by, nearly tucking my hat out of my head. The wind made some flower petals dance with it up above the air. I smiled by the beautiful scenery of the dancing petals basking under the rays of the sun.It was a happy scene yet my heart started swelling. Dead bodies were everywhere, the once green lush ground was now filled with ash, and the trees that were within battle range were all down, burned and destroyed.Meters away from where I was standing, emitting black energy was The Grand Arch Wizard. But there was something different the energy was decreasing. It was constantly decreasing!“Did it worked goddess Ferepia?”Th

There was another detail in the prophecy that everyone failed to take notice of. The most important part that will be the key to all of this, it may be our only chance. It was indeed possible for a goddess to defeat this enemy but only one would not suffice against so many enders. So if one would not be enough, we should just call on more.“To my allies, people of Llfhame, for many decades you have put your trust in the gods. Once again, show your devotion and belief; call upon the help of the gods! Together!” I used air to transmit my voice to my comrades. It is gamble since the enemy could hear it too, but this is the only chance.“Your coward gods would never come!”“But I am already here,”Up above the air, I produced a large magic circle enough to cover the whole battlefield.“Now Johann!” I yelled at Johannes who was fighting below. There is no intention to kill in the energy surrounding her, in fact there was the willingness to cooperate. And of course her hatred for me. the fact that I am a goddess did not seem to have any effect in her view of me. I am still the annoying girl who stole her love interest.“They are ready to execute the plan anytime. My brother is in position,”I nodded at her and faced Johann, “It is time, go lead everyo

That’s what I hate most about you, it’s always you… the genius, the best, the healthy and outstanding William!”The nearest root started to attack William, he sped forward, towards Antonella but a smoke that was violet in color crawled towards him and he knew that if he inhaled that smoke, he would faint. The wind has become harsher; it felt the brewing danger from the resurrection of the Grand Arch Wizard. Once Johann and the spirits have settled, we came back to the formation and followed the original plan. The others from the academy and the temple were already in their positions, if this comes to worst that plan, we could only hope that is enough.“Don’t worry, we can defeat them,” Johann’s smiling face was oddly not comforting. He trace of smile from what happened earlier was still there, I shook my head in disbelief which only made him grin wider.“William is still restraining Antonella, and we could already see the progress, everything is going as planned.”I remembered the meeting we had at the academe, how we formulated the plan and prepared all the back up plans in case the first strategy fails. We have used all the resources we have, all to not let the Grand Arch Wizard grow more. We should

I ordered Quinn to halt and the wind quickly calmed down, we were higher up in the skies, we were not able to see what was on the ground anymore. What I saw up here was a familiar scene, I once saw this in my memories, that time I was with him, “Harlequin,” the name suddenly came out of my mouth.“Moria?” there was wonder in his voice but I could hear the joy by my mere utterance of that name.“The Grand Arch Wizard has ful
