Sorry about my absence for the past month. My sincere apologies readers. I am back now and ready to work. I would do my best - God be my help and controller - to churn out as many chapters as I can in the next few weeks. Once again, I apologize sincerely.
History is written by the winner; losers have no right to tell their tale. However, even as a loser I will tell my story. I ought to, since I was the one who started this mess.Ever since I was a child, I had been raised with one belief: The Citadel is invincible. This belief has been my bread and butter - my daily bread - which I genuinely cherish. I muttered it each day I woke up and each time that I swung my sword against the Academy’s practice dummy I reminded myself that this was the truth. I grew strong, so much so much so that even those who wielded greater energy than me couldn’t dismiss me. Before long I was leading my own team under the banner of the elders of the Citadel.I have been sent on many missions. Many areas have required my power over the past few years and rarely have I let the city I was born in down. My mission success percentage has always been 100% and there is no team in the Citadel that can boast of such a record. If the elders needed something done with
“You can either call me by my name or my title. There is no need to mention both.” Mane spoke in a displeased manner. “Besides, it took you long enough to reveal yourself. What were you waiting for? Or did you want me to start killing your people?” Mane asked rudely. His words caused the brows of the defeated warriors to twitch in annoyance, yet they dared not utter a word of protest; and that was because of the identity of the one who had made his appearance. For before them was the one whose prestige had no equal in the Citadel. This was the man who had come closest to the True Dragon Lord since the ancient times and was himself referred to as Lord. The person who had arrived was the Dragon Lord himself.“We greet Dragon King Bast”the warriors knelt down quickly and exclaimed in one loud voice. Their voices were filled with respect and yearning, and they were filled with fire, fire that Mane had previously put out.“It seems his people hold him in high esteem. His presence was enoug
“Do not let me down,” Mane was ecstatic upon sensing the powerful aura of the Dragon Lord. With his strong senses as a scholar Mane could feel the strength of flames from within Dragon King Bast and was certain that unlike most humans, the Dragon Lord could control the fire element.“Fire it is then,” Mane smirked to himself and summoned the flames that were born of Hades itself.“Fire Phoenix technique: Roar of the Fire Phoenix”*Screeee*The powerful cry of the bird of rebirth reverberated all over the Citadel as large tongues of fire engulfed Mane and morphed into the shape of a phoenix that was over 20 meters tall. The phoenix shared the blue of Mane’s eyes and within its pupils was a haughtiness that only a sovereign creature like itself could possess. It was nothing but a conjured image, yes, but it was arrogant all the same.“Unbelievable,” Dragon King Bast was stunned by what he was witnessing. Even Elementals, famed for their control over the elements could not manipulate fla
“They aren’t human,” Caitlin gulped as she watched the fight from a distance. Next to her was her captain who was also mesmerized by the battle before him. The two were several hundreds of meters away from the center of the clash, Logically speaking, they should be safe at such a distance; however, when it came to the truly powerful, logic didn’t matter. Even from this distance the two had to be relying on their energy to resist the heat, and it took all of their might to do that.“In the end before such beings, we are just ants,” Razer mumbled. Just like his teammates, he was stunned by the sheer scale of the battle. However unlike them, he was able to discern that the two entities in the midst of the storm were not going all out. Surely they were fighting with gret might and it seemed as though they weer out to kill each other. There was something off though. Razer could sense a deep darkness in Mane that was threatening to rear its head should things go sideways; and even more surp
When Mane’s understanding of fire increased, he gained a new ability. He gained the power to merge his flames with his father’s. Initially Mane could only stack the abilities, one upon the other. However, that didn’t provide a significant increase. Besides, the restriction in doing something like that was severe, for both Brimstone and True Flames were very prideful abilities. They weer the cream of the crop, and having one bow to the other was impossible. Now, things were different. Now, Mane could force these proud flames to work together and had forged a new ability. This new ability was called Sulfuric True Flames! (AN: Brimstone of True Flames would now be referred to as Sulfuric True Flames)Blue flames towered into the sky and stole the light of the sun. A powerful heat wave that could not be matched by any other threatened the lives of everyone in the Citadel, and the elders were alarmed by the sight.“Elder Sydney. Protect the Citadel.” The City Lord quickly ordered one of th
Mane’s eyes were calm even after seeing the charge of the elders. His eyes scanned each of them swiftly in less than half a second and without their knowledge, he had collected all their data. “Spirit Scan”NAME: Dragon King BastAGE: N/AHEALTH POINTS: 2,000,000/4,000,000RACE: HumanBLOODLINE: Black Dragon BLOODLINE RANK: LegendaryLEVEL: Ascension Realm 8 (Level 88.72)BASE POWER LEVEL: 7,200,000,000PEAK POWER LEVEL: 8,500,700,555WIELDER TYPE: Energy WielderSPECIALTY: Strength; Intelligence; SpeedGLOWS: Dragon Synergy; Beast King Mode; Sovereign Mode; Pseudo Dragon FlamesNAME: Elder CafuAGE: N/AHEALTH POINTS: 6,000,000/6,500,000RACE: HumanBLOODLINE: White Scaled Orca BLOODLINE RANK: LegendaryLEVEL: Ascension Realm 5 (Level 85.62)BASE POWER LEVEL: 1,200,000,000PEAK POWER LEVEL: 2,500,700,000WIELDER TYPE: Energy WielderSPECIALTY: Strength; Vitality GLOWS: Beast Transformation; Child of Water; Life StealNAME: Elder WindAGE: N/AHEALTH POINTS: 7,899,999/8,000,000RAC
Back on the battlefield, Mane was looking at the two warriors of the Citadel left - Dragon King Bast and Elder Hanuman. Although there were only two remaining, Mane could not feel any relief. Rather, now that the others were not here, a strong sense of unease washed over his heart; it was especially so with the one called Hanuman. The sense of crisis the man gave him was so strong that Mane didn’t even bother to admire the large chasm he had created; neither did he pay attention to Elder Wind who had been buried several meters within that chasm. All that was on his mind were his two opponents.“Are you finally awake?” Dragon King Bast turned to Elder Hanuman and asked. His question was a bit startling since Elder Hanuman had been with him all this while. The man had been awake since the moment he tried to rope Mane into his plot till now. So why was the Dragon Lord asking such a strange question?“Hehe. I am. The Dragon Blade made sure of that.” Elder Hanuman smiled bitterly and said.
The previously beaten elders landed in front of Mane with their killing intent focused on the young Supreme. Each of them looked different, suggesting that they had indeed resorted to using their trump cards, not that Mane was complaining. Elder Cafu had transformed into a humanoid creature covered all over in white scales that gleamed brightly under the baptism of the sun. His head was covered by a helmet that was as white as wool but harder than steel. In his hands was a large cleaver that was made out of the very same scales that covered his body, and strapped to his waist was a gourd that Mane sensed was filled with water, not wine. “Does it have to do with his ability, Child of Water?” Mane wondered before taking in the changes of the others. Elder Wind’s transformation was different from Elder Cafu’s, but both shared some similarities. For starters, Elder Wind had also transformed into a humanoid creature. However, unlike Elder Cafu he gave off the aura of a demon, proving tha
