“Mmm,” a man clad in a long black robe took a deep breath like one starved of freedom for several centuries. His eyes were calm and warm, yet there was a deep layer of excitement that the man’s composure could not hide. His smile was as broad as the dimensions of the sea, and even though it was covered by several layers of hair as thick as a collie’s, this smile could not be hidden. The man had a beard so long that he it reached the ground. As for his long wavy hair, it was able to accomplish what his heard was unable to. It kissed the ground and gently draped its surface like the gown of a woman about to be wed. As though this man wasn’t strange enough, he was accompanied by a cat. This cat was covered by black fur and was as small as a newborn kitten. However, the aura that this small beast exuded was so great that any beast below the King Level would be found shivering in fright before it. “She must be done by now right?” Mane wondered as several balls of fire revolved around him with such precise control that one would have assumed that fire was his greatest element.“Well, she did say that she would be done by today,” Hildegarde nodded her head and confirmed her Tested’s words. Since Mane became a Noble, the power of his flames were beyond the tolerance level of any fairy. Maybe only the Fairy Elders and the Fairy King would be able to handle his flames nonchalantly. Hildegarde wasn’t at that level. She definitely wasn’t strong enough to handle Mane’s flames without using her true power! “They don’t look any different,” Mane rubbed his bearded chin as he analysed the two swords that lay before him. After confessing that she was done reforming his blades, Zica had retrieved the two companions of the Supreme of the True Universe. She had presented them to the expectant mane who then went on to check out the twin swords. Unfortunately, Mane’s excitement was dampened swiftly when he did the initial analysis. Neither Night Mare nor Night’s Kiss looked different from how they looked before they were given to Zica. Mane stared at the strange markings that had appeared on the two swords. With his sharp vision he could easily discern that each sword was engraved differently, displaying Zica’s remarkable skill. However, the symbols on the sword were so familiar that Mane swore that he had seen them before. “Are these runes?” Hildegarde who had been silent during this entire encounter was stunned by what she was seeing. As a member of the Fairy Race which had a close relationship with the God King Odin, she was familiar with the many runes that Asgardians could engrave. Of course, the citizens of Asgard preferred to engrave runes on their bodies, choosing not to sully their weapons. Although one would think Asgardians strange because of how highly they regarded their weapons but disregarded the sanctity of their bodies, Hildegarde was aware of the real reason why Asgardians refused to engrave runes onto their weapons. “Runes? As Mane walked back to the inn, he was lost in thoughts. Gowen City was a Second Class City that he had merely stopped by. This was not his destination. Of course he had never expected to meet Zica here. That encounter could be best described as one with an uncertain fate, for although Zica had granted him a Divine Weapon, what she required of him was a great burden; and he would find out in the future if his decision to accept the bargain was the right one or the wrong one. “Where shall we go next Young Lord,” Tucker asked. “The Citadel,” Mane answered quickly. Some rushed to the market to get groceries for the week while others rushed into their shops to get the day started. “They are hard workers. Along with the thunderous clap of thunder and a flash of lightning that struck the ground and lit up the slowly brightening sky, Mane appeared before the gates of the Citadel. His eyes were shut as though in contemplation, and the aura that surrounded him slowly faded away. The power of lightning that he had so carelessly unleashed upon his surroundings faded slowly, and the singing throes of thunder disappeared as well. “To think we could travel in such a way,” Hildegarde watched her surroundings in surprise.
