“Heyyyy,” Reus greeted his scowling son awkwardly.

It was easy to act cool when there was a murderer after his son, but now that the nuisance had been dealt with, he had to face the son he had abandoned for the first time in a year. It was even worse when he was reminded that his son had been stuck in another universe for a few more years. Just imagining how his boy would have felt when he woke up to two absent parents made him nervous.

Mane stared at Reus expressionlessly. His excitement of being reunited with his father had faded the moment Ares lost his life, and his mind was clear to think again. Immediately, he realised why Reus was here. The man who was supposed to be at Olympus, fighting for the throne and restoring it to normalcy, was here. Clearly he was here to watch his son’s debut into the world of heroes. While that was sweet in its own way, he had abandoned his son to restore balance to his place of origin. For like it or not, he was still an Olympian. To come here and

“Hmm. So, he failed. Did I expect too much from a fool?”In a realm that embraced darkness and chaos more than it did order, the Reaper sat on a throne higher and greater than any other in the universe. Fire and lightning dominated this realm, and the winds that blew over were too violent to be sought by anyone. Tornados and tsunamis co-existed in a chaotic harmony that was bolstered by the constant earthquakes and violent tremors; yet in all this, the Reaper sat confidently and calmly. His throne was unmoved neither was his frame. He regarded everything calmly and confidently, for he was the Reaper!“I guess this was a lapse in judgement on my part. Asking a fool who had lived his entire life in the shadow of his father to take command was a mistake. I guess that makes me a fool as well.”The Reaper chuckled softly, causing the rampaging elements to momentarily lose their power. Peace returned to this realm for a few seconds before chaos erupted again. It was almost as though the ele

“Who are we going to meet first, Loki? You have said nothing to me about the reason why we are here. Are you going to keep me in the dark even though you asked that I come with you?” Ananse, the Goddess of Wisdom formerly known as the Spider Goddess, frowned as she spoke. She was walking together with Loki through Gowen City. Both who large cloaks that hid much of their appearance, and their hoods concealed their faces perfectly. The two had arrived in the Dreamscape Universe through means that only Loki knew and had immediately come to this remote planet. This had confused Ananse of course, for the reason why they were here had been laid out to her by the God of Mischief; yet for some reason, the God of Mischief had been tight-lipped about their next move and why they were here, in a planet as weak and barren as this one.“We are here,” Loki, the one Mane had called Uncle Jake for a large part of his life, stopped in front of an artisan shop with a stern look on his face.Ananse gave

“Alucard, is that letter legitimate?” Dracula, the Vampire Lord, looked over the contents of the letter in his hands another time. His blood red eyes were bright and energetic, a stark contrast to what they had been a few weeks ago. Those formerly bleak and guilt-ridden eyes were filled with life and hope and from the way his fingers that held the letter trembled, one could tell just how much the contents of that letter meant to him.“I believe that it is. Those are Loki’s words. He filled it with his power to ensure its legitimacy.” Alucard answered plainly, but his voice was filed with hope.“This is good news then,” Dracula smiled and said. How much his shoulders had carried! The guilt of being a burden to the one he was actually supposed to protect and the despair of losing their only chance to have their clan restored had been eating away at his soul for months. His sorrow and despair were felt by Lilith and Alucard who also understood the gravity of the situation. While they kne

“It seems that we have to leave this place and abandon our chase,” a woman who was as beautiful as the sun itself, muttered silently yet loud enough for the man standing next to her to hear.“We cannot do that. We have been pursuing them for months and have come closer than ever before. We cannot let this chance go past us. We may never get it again. Once we lose them, it’s over. What will we tell the Lord? That we failed yet another mission?”The man next to her voiced his disagreement clearly. His body was riddled with injuries and his gloves had long lost their lustre. Though he was bleeding through several orifices, his aura was still as intimidating and as authoritative as it was when he was at full strength. That was not surprising though, for this man was the 2nd Sky! As for the person next to him, she was someone familiar to Mane. She was someone he thought he knew and a person he had loved dearly. She was known to him as Sunflower, but her true identity was more insidious. Fo

“They are leaving. Should we allow them to?” Keira watched silently from a place hidden from the view of the retreating Skies. While she was largely calm, there was a gleam of bloodlust in those eyes when she stared at Sunflower. The rage in those eyes – though well concealed – was capable of exploding at any moment. She had not forgotten the events of that day. She had not forgotten that she had lost the time she could have spent with her baby because of that woman. That woman had dared to kill her grandson before her eyes. Was it not too kind to allow her to roam free?“Let them be. We have kept them here long enough. We have done our part. Let us return to Loki.” Komfo Anokye replied with his hand on Keira’s shoulder. It had only been some months in this universe, but Komfo Anokye had changed quite a bit. His eyes which used to contain scorn and ridicule for the world were now cold with a hint of wrath in them. The fiery excitement that they used to contained had now been replaced

“Master. The 2nd and 3rd Skies have received the message. They are returning to us as we speak.”“Good. We will leave the moment they return.” The Golden Sky stated.“Are you sure this is what you want, Master? She is your mother after all. It would be emotionally challenging to wage a war against her.”“Challenging, but not impossible. It can and would be done.” The Golden Sky replied, answering the one who had served as his shadow for so long.“As you wish Master,” Shadow replied before stepping back submissively.“What about the man? Has he made his decision yet?” the Golden Sky asked.“He refuses to take another’s mantle. Give me a bit more time and I would have him pledging his allegiance to you Master. He is just a bit more stubborn than usual.” Shadow replied with a strange gleam in his eyes. There was a bit of excitement in those small eyes when he spoke of receiving a bit more time. It didn’t take a genius to understand that he was referring to torture.“He sure is resilient

While Loki, Ananse, and the Golden Sky were making their moves, there was another who was making her move as well. She was someone the people of this universe had forgotten, for her throne had been usurped; but those who carried the essence of this universe had not forgotten her, and they would not allow themselves to forget her. Naturally, this person was Zica. The former Supreme of this universe may have been pushed into obscurity, and she may currently be weaker than she was in her prime, but there were still those who knew and believed in her return. These people were individuals who had fought behind her and served as her subordinates for the longest time. They knew no other thing than this: Zica would return. From the moment Mane arrived in the world to the very time that he had left, Zica had been making preparations. She had been secretly assembling those who had once fought for her, the very same ones who had been ready to give their lives for her; and she had done this throu

“Are you ready? We would be waging war soon.” Loki asked Ananse, the woman who was the symbol of wisdom in his universe. The two were seated in a simple restaurant. The restaurant was filled with many familiar faces. These were people Mane had fought against or with. From the Barbarian Primogenitor to Dragon King Bast to Monkey God Hanuman and the Matriarch of the Ancient Clan as well as the allies from the Elementals, there were many gathered here whom Mane knew. Even Lily and Lam were here. They had come with their grandfather and though they weren’t strong enough to be on the frontlines, they were unwilling to miss such a moment. If there was one important person missing, it would be the woman who had provided solace for the young Supreme years ago – Asherah. Her whereabouts had been unknown since the war with Pazuzu. It wasn’t just her though. Chief Priest Kaka and the rest had gone missing as well. Of course, right now, the priority wasn’t to find her. There was war coming. They

“This…is amazing,” Mane’s eyes widened as he took in the sight before him.The young Supreme was seated on Roxanne. The beautiful dark horse had been granted the power of flight by Crystal who had no trouble casting a flight Lease on the lovely beast. While this was not a permanent condition, it would last hours, and that was thanks to Crystal’s expert command over Chaos. Any other person would have been able to cast this Lease for just under a few minutes. Mane was no exception to this. Even if his power was not sealed, he would not be able to use this Lease to liberally. If this Lease was that practical, it would have been popularized.Next to him, Professors Stern and Stanley, and Dean Desmond had smile plastered on their faces as they watched the Supreme’s gobsmacked reaction to the impressive sight before him. Behind the professors were the students, both old and new. While the older students, Kahn, Frost, Bel, and Maia were floating on their own, the new students had to be envel

His figure flashed as he appeared before Zeus, shielding him from the gaze of his own blood brother. “You have fallen low brother. Now, you require the protection of a titan? Hilarious.” Poseidon mocked as he locked eyes with the delicate looking Atlas. “Of course I have fallen. Not only was I betrayed by my own son, but I also almost died. What did you expect will happen when one who is considered as part of the big three of Olympus approaches a fallen god?” Zeus did not mind his brother’s comments.Instead

Days passed and soon it was time for Mane to leave the planet of the Celestial Emperor. Well, he wasn’t the only one leaving. It was time for the professors to return to their academies with their students – both old and new. In front of the portal that could transport them back to their academies, Mane stood with his friends as they bid each other goodbye. Well, something close to that at least. To give them some privacy, the other professors had gone on ahead with the students, standing a few tens of meters away from the Silver Wolves.“Our great Supreme, our captain and leader, the Unbended is finally leaving us. Whatever are we to do?” Abe waved his hands theatrically as he feigned sadness and pain. His words caused Selina and the twins to snicker. Only Aegeus snorted before shooting Abe a deathly stare. It took a week for Godking to complete its assignment and soon, Mane was back on Planet Celestial. Walking through the streets of the capital, he noticed that he was receiving a lot of stares. While it wasn’t unusual for people to stare at him given his appearance and his ethereal aura, that was only on Zandor. One could argue that it was because he didn’t look like a Celestial, but that was not accurate either. Since Celestials opened their homes to others who craved entry into the God Academies, they had welcomed several different species into their home world. Mane wasn’t not out of place in this new era, meaning there were definitely staring for another reason.“You have become very popular, young Supreme,” Professor Stern who was walking next to Mane chuckled and said.“Hahaha! They had escaped that world that had been prepared as his burial place. As though it had never happened, they had returned to the exact spot he had been teleported from – the kitchen. Hildegarde was confused about his current reaction.Seeing him biting onto his tuna sandwich caused her eyebrows to lift in frustration. It was the very same meal that Mane had made and had barely taken a bite of when he was transported to another world. And yes, that was not a dream; it had really happened. She couldn’t understand how the Supreme could be so calm after coming out of a life-or-death situation.“What would you have me do then? Toss it into the trashcan? There were many things that could not be understood in this world, regardless of the amount of logic that one’s mind could process at any given moment, there were things that befuddled even the most brilliant minds. One of such brilliant minds – no, two of these – was staring into the sky full of stars with a torn expression on his face. This man – nay, this god – was the trickster and master shapeshifter, Loki. But he wasn’t alone.“What are you thinking about?”“Many things.”“The great Loki has more than one troubling issue? This is interesting. Odin would have laughed at the absurdity of such a statement; but looking at your expression, it seems to be true.”“It is arrogance to assume that one can solve all one’s problems with one’s mind alone. Why do you think I sought you?”“Isn’t it greater arrogance to presume that two would be enough?”“But its not just two is it? One is the mind of Odin and the other is the mind that Odin sought.”“You say you aren’t arrogant, but you do not
