The spear that was engulfed in the red beam disappeared. In its place was a pole that was half a meter in diameter and at least four meters tall. The pole was engraved with several blasphemous images – images that screamed blasphemy against the one who was the King of the Wind Demons. For upon its surface had been engraved images of the Wind Demon King pinned underneath the talons of a phoenix, a creature of fire that was said to be the bane of the Wind Demons. Around the phoenix were several strange looking bats that possessed eyes so red that they were not concealed by the redness of the Asherah Pole! Floating above the pole was Asherah, the one whom the pole was named after and the woman who would have become the Queen of all Wind Demons had she accepted the proposal of Pazuzu several years ago. Her eyes were red as crimson, and her hair had adopted the same hue. The green that signified the brilliance of the wind was no more. All that remained was a fiery heat that didn’t come nat
“These measly flames will never be able to stop me! I am Pazuzu!” The Wind Demon God screamed with vigour upon seeing his sword light cleave the flames into two. His eyes flashed with coldness as the image of the Griffin behind him became more solidified. Seeing this, Asherah furrowed her brows in thought.“Hehe,” Pazuzu chuckled upon seeing her befuddled expression. With a smug smile and a sense of satisfaction welling up within his soul that even he could not understand, he said,“Wondering why I am able to use my power now?”“No. I don’t need you to explain your abilities to me. I don’t have the time nor the energy to listen to the words of a man with one foot in the grave.” Asherah’s harsh words caused Pazuzu’s face to scrunch up into a scowl. The joy he felt from thwarting her plan was swiftly replaced by rage, and he wanted nothing more than to rip her apart. Now that he had confirmed that his power was effective against her flames, he knew that it was possible that this power s
*ROAR* The azure dragon announced its presence with a loud roar that shook the sky and splintered the ground. Asherah was forced to retreat a few steps as soon as the dragon’s roar reached her ears, and the Asherah Pole wavered slightly. She gritted her teeth as a strong desire to persist and achieve her goal flashed through her mind. With a silent roar of encouragement within her mind, she forced herself to stand underneath the suppression of the great beast, and pushed forward like a blistering arrow! *Boom* A small sonic boom was heard as Asherah pushed forward, spear in hand. The Asherah Pole responded to her fiery heart and began to vibrate strongly. Her desire acted like a drug for the Asherah Pole, and the flames that it released burned brighter and stronger! *Crackle* Sparks appeared around the Asherah Pole, and the ground around it turned into lava as it failed to endure her power. The magma spiralled and turned, ascending and rushing towards Asherah who accepted its bap
*Puchi*Pazuzu looked at the hand sticking out his back with wide eyes filled with disbelief. His body screamed in pain as his heart, for his heart was smelted by the great fire of the phoenix; yet Pazuzu refused to accept his fate. He screamed in anger and slapped Asherah’s chest, flattening the giant orbs that threatened to spill out momentarily and sending her slamming into the ground!*Boom*“Cough” Asherah coughed up a mouthful of blood as she lay sprawled out on the ground. The Asherah Pole shook gently before slowly fading out of existence, for its job had been done. As it disappeared, the black flames around the spear Asherah held was extinguished, and she was granted relief; yet this relief only proved to be temporary. The fire that burned through her veins still burned bright, and the damage it caused was continuous. Adding this to the damage she had already accrued, it was certain that Asherah was not going to be alive in the next few minutes. Her tattered robes were a fair
An old man whose steps were aided by the crooked staff that held his right arm high, walked slowly onto the scene He was wearing a large kimono that was a mixture of green and white clouds, and his eyes were filled with wisdom. He had a gentle smile on his face, and his demeanour was that of a friendly neighbourhood uncle. Next to him was a peculiar looking man with piercings all over his body. If the former was a man who caused one to feel at peace by merely being there, the latter was one whose presence caused one to be unsettled and fearful. In a way, each one cancelled the effect of the other! These two were Old Fan and Chief Doctor Kaka! They who had disappeared o’er so long ago, much to Mane’s confusion and Hildegarde’s worry, had reappeared! And behind them were Village Head Samoa and his guards! They weren’t the only ones present however, for every single villager that had gone missing was here with them! It didn’t matter if it was the old women who sold fruits and vegetables
“You have placed the entire world in danger,” Asherah snarled as her other eyes went dim. She slumped to the ground helplessly, finding the pain of failing right when success was at the door, quite unbearable. She had been so close. In fact, she had actually succeeded. What she did not expect was that Old Fan and the others would appear at the end and undo all her hard work. “Don’t worry. You aren’t going to die. We need you alive so that our king can deal with you as he sees fit, betrayer.” Chief Doctor Kaka smiled broadly and approached Asherah. Then just like he did for Pazuzu, he consumed the lives of some of the Wind Demons and healed those seemingly irreparable damages that Asherah had accrued. “As our former queen, you cannot just go around dying on your own. You ought to stay alive, so that you can watch our king return to the world in power and in splendour.” Chief Doctor Kaka cackled like a mad man. Asherah felt her wounds healing at a rapid pace, and even the blood vessel
Pathfinder’s response to his Ancestor’s command was immediate action. His body dispersed into mist and coalesced in the middle of the Wind Demons. His eyes, as red as Magma his son’s, pierced through the bodies of the first few Wind Demons that met his gaze, and they froze in their tracks. This wasn’t due to fear, for these Wind Demons had been present even before Pathfinder was born, and they had fought against actual gods and kept their lives. No, this was the power of oppression. This was the power contained within the gaze of a man who regarded life as a mere tool to be used and discarded when its purpose was no longer grandiose. This was the gaze of a man unburdened by murder. With his fingers extended into claws and his arms bulged out like a python’s maw, Pathfinder grabbed the head of the Wind Demon closest to him and smashed it into the ground!*Bang*Pathfinder’s assault didn’t end in a ‘grab and smash’. Lifting his other arm he summoned an inhumane amount of power into his
Pathfinder dashed forward at a speed that could not be followed by the human eye. He moved like an articulator truck, flattening everything in his path. Two Wind Demons that stood in his way faced his wrath although they were not the reason for it, and their head were wrung cleanly off their necks and tossed aside with the disdain of a rich man towards the slums. The three Wind Demons that had captured Pathfinder’s attention, and whose attention he too had captured, merely watched his charge without a change in their expressions. The brawny one whose weapon was a pair of wind gauntlets stepped out of the shadows of the other two to meet Pathfinder; for he had judged that he was the only one physically capable of stopping such a charge head-on!Seeing the Wind demon that stood within his path was one of the three whose heads he sought to crush, Pathfinder’s eyes glowed brightly. His already tense muscles accepted a little bit more of the pressure that inflated their masses and caused t
