Oscar
The moment Gavin requested to speak to me in private, I figured something was wrong. It was either he suspected his guys or did not want Karen to hear what he had to say.
"I am meeting with John Hunter tonight," he said, and I figured why he didn't want Karen to hear. "You know I cannot take Karen with me. So Akio and Danjuma would be taking her to hunt some rogues down town." he said, and I shook my head in disagreement because I was not confident in their ability to protect Karen.
"They are not going there to protect Karen, Oscar. They are going there to do a job. Have some faith in your woman." Gavin cautioned, but I insisted.
"I will follow them then." I decided, and he shook his head in disagreement.
"No you won't because you are coming with me. We would also be meeting with Maria Forestwood. Her coven has been affected too." Gavin said, and I was wondering where all of this was coming from.
"You chose now to tell
KarenI could understand Oscar's reason for not telling me he was going to a meeting to see my father. I had never been the nosy kind, and the fact that we were now official did not mean I was going to start being nosey or overbearing like Tabitha. Knowing that about Oscar, I did not intend to trouble him even though I knew he would have obliged me and wouldn't hate me or dump me for it. But I let it be. I wouldn't have asked to join him anyway because I wasn't ready to see my father."Karen, do you like your new toys?' Danjuma asked me, and I smiled. I was surprised it took him this long to comment on my weapon. I nodded with a smile."Instead of admiring my toys. Can you educate me on where we're going and what or who we would be facing?" I asked.Danjuma looked at Akio to speak."There is an Alley down town close to Aisle One. A lot of disturbances have been reported and some of the protitutes that work there at night have gone
Oscar Gavin and I arrived at the venue. John Hunter was already waiting for us in the VIP room of the restaurant. The man was a platinum blonde like his daughter, and I saw where Karen got some of her features from. He looked alive, and he looked my age. If it wasn't that I knew that he was a vampire, I wouldn't have believed. He looked calm and peaceful, and nothing was threatening about him. I had heard so much about the man, and I began to wonder if this was the same person that had done all the horrible stuff I heard. The moment he saw us, he stood up and shook our hands, welcoming us to sit. "Thank you both for coming." He said with a smile, and I saw his fangs. He was easily the most handsome man in that place. No one had ever outshined Gavin and me in looks, this man was a formidable competitor, and I felt cheated a bit because he was old enough to be our father, which made it unfair that we would be competing with him in our generatio
Oscar"Guys we came here for a different matter. Why don't we solve the matter first. then you two can privately discuss your issues?" I said, and John Hunter looked at me with an evil glint in his eyes."If this bitch does not remove the glamour on my child and let me know where my daughter is, I will not volunteer the information I have and don't think I care about the supernatural community that much. Isabel and I have done well for ourselves over the years. We would just skip town and start afresh elsewhere without siring vampires." He said, and we knew he was dead serious.Technically, Mariah had done a great evil by keeping this couple from their daughter. A daughter that she did not care for. A daughter that suffered all her life until I met her. Karen was right to hate the woman, and I was angry that she had used me to look like the good guy. Vampire or not, Karen deserved to meet her parents. I wasn't going to let the city burn because
OscarI made sure I did not mention her name or indicate it was her I was talking to so that John would not insist on tagging along or get angry with us for endangering his daughter's life. As things were her life and keeping her alive was the most important thing to the man.We concluded our meeting, and John and I exchanged numbers. I let Maria know they could skip town tonight with my jet, and she appreciated the kind gesture. We hurried out and went to join Karen's group. We got to the venue, and Karen jumped on me and kissed me fiercely. She was so excited, and I wondered where the excitement was coming from."You should have seen you girl, men, she took out six wolves. The crazy part was when she killed four that were hiding with her eyes closed. Men this girl reminds me of the legends about the Hunters." Danjuma said with so much admiration for Karen, and I realised that there was no hex."Where is he?" I heard Gavin say, so
KarenI couldn't believe what Oscar had just told me. The matter with my parents was sensitive, so I knew he wouldn't joke with it. I knew he went to see my father. I could understand his statement, but my mother was dead. Was it that my father had a new wife?"What do you mean by parents, Oscar?" I asked Oscar, and he sat up in bed."Your father and mother want to see you. " he started, and I was confused, but I wasn't quick to speak."We had a meeting with your father. Gavin and I wanted to get to the bottom of what was happening and your father knew who the culprit was. Being the only coven in town and having been affected by the mess, you aunt Maria was invited too. The two could not stand each other. What we learned was that your mother became a vampire after your birth and your father allowed her to turn him so they could be together. Your aunt was to take care of you until they were able to take care of you but your aunt deci
KarenI woke up restless in the morning. I quickly showered and went down for breakfast. I knew Oscar would not like it, but as things were, we had the rest of our years together, he wouldn't feel bad about the morning. I found Danjuma, Akio and Gavin on the breakfast table, and it just brought back memories of my time at Gavin's house."Good morning," I heard Oscar's voice from behind me. I turned around to see him, and he was just in shorts, which meant he had woken up and come straight down. Before I could say anything, he grabbed and kissed me fiercely."I don't like waking up alone, Karen.' he scolded me pinching my butt.I raised an eyebrow at him, " Since when? You have been waking up alone before me." I pointed out, and he frowned at me."Well I do not like it anymore." he corrected, and I laughed."Did you sleep well?" I asked him."Between your sobs, anxiety and worry I believe I managed pretty well," he sai
KarenThe alarm went off, and we woke up. I showered and got dressed for the evening. Oscar said my parents could eat regular food and did not look or behave like vampires, so we decided to have a full dinner to help everyone relax before we got into talking. We dressed up, and I went downstairs. I noticed the butler at the door talking to someone, and the person sounded rude, and it was a woman's voice. He tried to prevent, her but she pushed past him and entered screaming, "Oscar, Oscar!".She had a belly which indicated she was pregnant, and she was angry. She saw me and looked at me with scorn."So you are the next one." She said, and I figured she was one of his mistresses. The woman was blonde, and she was pretty in a pregnant kind of way."Oscar! you have to see me now!" she yelled."What is your name and what is the matter with you?" I asked, a bit concerned because of her situation."It is none of your busine
KarenOscar and I went downstairs to receive my parents in the visitors' lounge.I shook when I saw the backs of their heads on the two-seater couch in the lounge. They were seated so closely together. Oscar held my hand and walked in with me. The moment I finally saw their faces, tears streamed down my eyes. My mother and father stood up immediately and hugged me.I didn't know when Oscar left my hand as we held each other and wept."My baby, my poor baby," my mother cried. They both hugged me tightly. Their skins were cold to touch, but I didn't care. They were here with me finally. After a while, we broke the hug, and they returned to sit on the two-seater while Oscar and I sat directly opposite them.My parent sat so closely together it was obvious that they were genuinely in love with each other."She has your eyes and your nose, Issy," my father said, and my mother laughed and nodded."I can't believe this," was all I cou
