Chapter Twelve

All that's around me is darkness. I tried to open my eyes, but I felt so weak. I needed to get back to Rainn, that was the only thought running through my head. I mustered all the strength I could and finally pushed my eyes open. The room was dark and at first it didn't look like anyone was in here. I tried to adjust myself on the bed, "Rainn?", I called weakly. My throat was scratchy and even whispering hurt. I heard movement from across the room and a figure came running over to me.

"Adalyn, are you truly awake? Rainn's going to be so happy." "Liam, where is Rainn and what happened?" "I think it would be better if you heard it from him but let me get you some water and I will get him." He went into the bathroom and brought me a glass of water which I drank in two gulps. Then he went out into the hallway and yelled for Rainn. I heard loud thuds, and it sounded like he was running.

    Rainn "It's Malik." As soon as those words came out of my mouth Adalyn lost it. I threw the car in reverse and peeled out of the parking lot, heading home as fast as I could. The gate was still open when I flew into the driveway. Adalyn jumped out of the car as soon as it stopped and ran into the house. I parked and ran through the house and down into the basement.     Adalyn Everyone was shocked at Liam's outburst. Mercer stepped forward. He was 6'3 all muscle with pale skin, black hair, and hazel eyes with just a tinge of red.     Adalyn I was so confused about what was going on, "Wait who's coming?" Rainn had a deadly look on his face, "Beherit and his demons and they aren't coming for tea." I straightened my back, I was scared to death, but I wouldn't let it show, not in front of everyone. Rainn started barking orders at everyone to make sure all the defenses were up and running and for everyone to meet in the War Room in forty-five minutes. He then grabbed my hand and took me back into the house, up the stairs, and into our room. "This may not be ideal timing, but I need you right now", he said. He started stripping my workout clothes off and tracing his fingers down my arms and onto my stomach. "Shouldn't we be helping them?" "I have other plans for you right now and it's going to be a long night." I smiled, I love this man and even though we have an unknown number of enemies coming to destroy us, all he wants to do is worship me. I reached up and cupped his cheek and pulled him in for a kiss.

    TRIGGER WARNING Tabby All I see and feel is darkness. I have no idea how long I've been here. I remember leaving the bar and not feeling very good, but after that, nothing until I came to. The one man that I never wanted to see again was in front of me when I first opened my eyes. My ankle is chained, and, in the beginning, I could move around, but now I'm barely awake.
