Chapter 1

How it all started

  Charlotte stood,looking in horror at the strange wolf-like creature in front of her.Her heart paced as she looked at the creature with a bewildered look. Sweat trickled down her face as she remained glued to a spot,paralyzed by fear.

  "No way! This can't be happening,this is definitely not real" she frantically shakes her head. "Why's a wolf here, and why is it this massive? I have to run,I have to warn Mum and Dad"

She finally regains her consciousness and musters up enough strength to run away, but she is stopped by the wolf. The wolf leaped on her and tried to dig his claws into her,but he was stopped by her father(Mr Fried),who did not look surprised to see the werewolf. He's  a middle aged man with broad shoulders,beards on his face and light brown hair.

  "Run Charlotte!" He yelled,as he took a stake and stabbed the wolf with it.

  "I said run" he shouted,trying his best to stop the wolf from getting to Charlotte.

  "No! I can't leave you,where's Mum? I can't leave without you guys" she said with tears streaming down her eyes.

 Her mom(Mrs Fried) , a middle aged woman with long black hair and honey brown eyes,came  rushing in and knelt beside her with a sorrowful and intense look on her face. "Listen to your Father, you have to go,run! We'll be right behind you, we just have to take care of this beast". She said with teary eyes.

She looked at her mom with despair, tears streaming down her eyes, with a shaky voice, she said "but I just can't leave you, how will you fight this thing? It doesn't look like a normal wolf, l can't leave, what of Papa? He's not strong enough to fight that beast off.

 "Do not underestimate your Father, he's way stronger than he looks. Now go, I need to help him" she said with a sad smile.

 With sweat and tears streaming down her face, she decided to leave, to avoid getting in their way. She looked at her Father one last time, and saw how bloody and wounded he was from fighting the wolf. She really wanted to say something to him, but she could not find the right words and she felt she'll  distract him. She looked at her Mother as she muttered the words  "I love you”,her Mother returned her words with the same words and a sad smile. With a conflicted look, she ran out of the house.

 Mrs Fried sighed with relief after she finally left, now she will try her best to stop that beast from getting to Charlotte.She called out to her husband.

  "Max(Mr Fried),we have to find a way to prevent this werewolf from getting to her. We have to protect her at all costs!" she said with a determined look.

  Mr Fried kept trying to stab the wolf with his silver dagger, but the werewolf was strong and fast. The wolf kept dodging every attack, he only managed to land a strike on the beast, but the wolf did a number of damage on him. At this rate, he'll die before Charlotte is fully saved from the wolf. If he is killed now, the werewolf will go after her. He could not allow that. 

  He looked at his wife,smiled at her and said "at all cost". Letting out a deafening roar, he charged towards the wolf with the silver dagger and stabbed him with it, but unfortunately the wolf managed to dig his claws in him.

  He fell to the floor with a loud thud,as the light seemed to leave his eyes and he breathed his last breath.

  "Noo Max!!!" yelled Mrs Fried.

  She wailed in anguish. She ran towards his lifeless body and held him against her chest, fat tears rolled down her eyes as she mourned. 

 "No you can't die, you can't leave me! I need you,Charlotte needs you, we're not done with our duty, we still have to protect and guide her. We still have a lot to do together. You can't die!!!"

 "Did you really think you could get rid of me that easily? You pesky little humans really do think highly of yourselves." Said the werewolf who is now in his human form.

 "What do you want, haven't you done enough? Who sent you? No matter what I won't let you get to her" Spoke Mrs Fried as she looked at the man in anger and disgust. She wondered how he was still alive. "How is he still alive? I'm certain I saw Max stab him in the heart with a silver dagger, then why is he still alive? This could only mean he's way more powerful than we assessed,and he's devoured a considerable amount of humans." she scrunched her brows in confusion and anger as she glared at him

  He gave her a mocking look and sized her up. "Well you can try to stop me,hahaha" he let out a mocking laugh. "You'll make an excellent meal"  He shifted back to his werewolf form and pounced on her, but she managed to dodge his attack just in time. 

 She lifts her dress and brings out a gun strapped to her thigh, and inserts silver bullets in the pistol. She aims at the werewolf and shoots, but the wolf keeps dodging the bullet. 

The wolf  jumps at her and claws a side of her face. 

"Ahhh, you darn mutt" she cries out.

 She scrunches her face in pain and tries to wipe the blood hindering her sight. She aims at the wolf and gets a shot at his fore limb. 

  The wolf, angry,pounced on her and tore off her arm. "Ahhhhh" she screamed. She looked in horror at the arm she had lost and the amount of blood she was losing. She fumed and was seething with anger. She raged bullets everywhere trying to hit the wolf, but he was out of  sight. 

 Out of nowhere the wolf pounced on her and tore off her head,as her blood spattered everywhere.
