Fixing The Past

When I opened the door, I saw Asher lying on a hospital bed near the window. His eyes were shut and his arms were stretched over his chest as he hugged himself.

He was in worse shape than Saige. His muscles had deteriorated, leaving him looking like a sack of skin filled with bones.

His hair was long and almost reached his shoulders. It was freshly combed though. I then closed the door behind me and his eyes shot into my direction.

They seemed to light up and a grin followed, showcasing the missing canines that he once tried to sink into me.

“R…R…Red” He said, making me smile at the nickname he gave me when we were only kids. I then took slow light steps until I was standing next to his bed.

“Asher” I greeted him. “I….I…knew you w…would c…come b…back t…to me” he stuttered but never broke eye contact. I shook my head at his words.
