Zyra's POV
I watched as they approached me with malice in their eyes, feeling a sense of dread wash over me. I tried to back away, but they closed in, encircling me in slow motion. These two were always a pain in my ass.
"What do you want from me?" I asked, my voice trembling with fear.
Gaia, Alpha Grayson's daughter, sneered at me and replied, "We just want to have a little fun with you, Omega. You know how much we love playing with our toys." Her mocking tone sent a shiver down my spine.
To be referred to as a toy once again – it was all too familiar. Cade had treated me the same way, playing with me as if I were just an object, and now his sister wanted to do the same.
Elara laughed heartily at Gaia's statement and began to circle me, adding to the humiliation. "What a pathetic thing you are," Elara taunted.
"You should be dead by now."
"Your parents are just as dumb as you are. It runs in the family," Gaia laughed, finding amusement in belittling me.
"There are more than a thousand ways to die. You should pick one instead of wasting oxygen, you filthy thing," Elara spat, gripping my hair from behind.
Refusing to be completely powerless, I mustered my courage and grabbed her wrist, pulling her hands away from my hair. "I won't be your toy," I stated firmly, surprising Gaia, whose eyes widened.
"I am a part of this pack, and you have no right to treat me like an outsider," I added, desperately clinging to my dignity. But instead of understanding, they burst into laughter. Elara stepped closer, her intense gaze fixed on mine. I looked away, clenching my fists with determination.
"Do you want to be reminded where you belong?" she sneered, forcefully grabbing my hair and forcing me to meet her gaze.
"You are nothing but a weakling. You will do as we say," she snarled, her words laced with malice. "Or else, we will make your life a living hell."
Gaia laughed from behind, "Her life is already a living hell."
"That's true, but we can always add more to it," Elara added with a menacing smile, kicking my aching stomach as I attempted to walk away.
"And where do you think you're going? You have no respect at all," Gaia taunted, blocking my path and trapping me with her glowing yellow eyes.
I took a step back, my gaze falling on her elongated claws and refracted fangs. "Do you have to be this way?" I asked, my voice trembling.
"What did I say about your life being a living hell?" she threatened. Fear sent a shiver down my spine, but I refused to back down, holding my head high.
"I refuse! I refuse to be bullied by you," I replied, defiance coloring my voice. Gaia's grip on my neck tightened in response.
"Maybe I should just kill you," she threatened, causing my breath to catch in my throat.
"No, please don't," I managed to say, and suddenly, a voice cut through the tension from behind.
"Gaia!" Cade's commanding voice echoed, causing her grip to slightly loosen, her attention shifting to her brother standing behind me.
"That's enough!" he interjected, to which Gaia scoffed.
"Why? I'm tired of seeing her face. It would be best if she died since she's as useless as her father's condom," Gaia sneered, her smirk sending a chill down my spine.
"Let her go. It's enough for today," Cade firmly instructed, and Gaia glared at me one last time before releasing her grip. I fell to my knees, gasping for air while clutching my sore neck, struggling to breathe.
"Pathetic," Elara spat, delivering a final kick to my stomach before striding away. I turned to see Gaia walking off with Elara and her brother. Cade glanced at me briefly before looking away.
"Argh!" I groaned in pain, pulling myself up from the ground, and dragging my weary feet toward my room. It was the smallest room in the mansion, but as long as I had a bed to lie on, I was grateful.
I stumbled my way to the bed and fell onto it, feeling a slight pain around my neck. Rolling to the other side, I tried to ignore the discomfort, hoping it would fade with time. I closed my eyes, seeking solace in sleep. Night had fallen, and it was time for rest.
Cade's POV
My sister's hatred for Zyra seemed stronger than even my own. While I disliked her, I couldn't bear the thought of her being harmed, especially by my sister's hands. In our pack, we had a rule – we didn't kill the innocent. Only those who committed crimes against the pack faced consequences. Although Zyra's mere existence seemed like a crime to some, we weren't allowed to take her life.
Despite my dislike for Zyra, I couldn't ignore the undeniable attraction I felt towards her. Deep down, I knew she had feelings for me too, despite her hatred.
Leaving my room, I made my way to her room. As I walked, pack members respectfully bowed their heads. In a week, I would be celebrating my 21st birthday, and my father had entrusted me with the responsibility of leading the pack. I was eager to prove myself and find my mate as well.
"Alpha Cade," Aria called out behind me. Aria, one of our pack members, was a beta wolf who would do anything to have me as her own.
I turned around and saw her with a smile on her face. "Aria, what is it?" I asked, curious about her intentions.
"I wanted to know if you're busy. It seems like you're not, so would you mind coming to my room? I'm really bored," she pouted, attempting to flirt.
"Are you trying to flirt with your Alpha?" I teased, a low laugh escaping my lips. Aria pursed her lips.
"Who wouldn't?" she quipped, confident in her attraction towards me.
"Well, I'm busy for now," I replied dismissively, turning to leave.
"Oh, I'll be waiting for you whenever you're free," she called out, but I ignored her, continuing on my way.
Zyra's POV
I was peacefully asleep until I felt a hand gently brush against my cheeks. My eyes slowly fluttered open, only to meet Alpha Cade sitting beside me on my bed.
"Alpha..." I whimpered, my heart pounding in my chest. I was immediately on edge, fearing another round of cruel treatment.
"Haven't you had enough fun for tonight?" I asked, my voice quivering. It seemed as though he always wanted to take advantage of me.
"No, I want something else," he replied, his hand slowly sliding down to my collarbone and beneath my shirt. I swallowed hard, my gaze fixed on his hands invading my personal space. I folded my lips inward, shaking my head in protest.
"No, please. I don't want this," I cried softly, hoping he would listen, but, as expected, my pleas fell on deaf ears.
In an instant, Alpha Cade forcefully tugged away the duvet I had used to cover my body and positioned himself over me. Tears streamed down my face, and I shook my head in disbelief.
I had once longed for a moment of love with Alpha Cade, but I now realized that I could never yearn for someone who abused me.
"You've always wanted this, haven't you, beauty?" he sneered, unbuttoning his shirt. The tears continued to flow as my sense of helplessness grew.
"You're lying," he growled, gripping my neck tightly, cutting off my ability to speak.
Fear pulsed through me as his hold tightened, restricting my breath. I struggled, desperate to break free from his grasp, but it felt futile. In that moment, I felt a surge of anger and defiance.
Zyra POVCade’s hand roamed over my body slowly, from my chest to my hips. He ran his hands back up and my boobs in his hands. I swallowed heavily and turned away to look at the window as I let the tears flow down my eyes slowly. “Do you have to do this?” I ask him and heard him scoff“Are you questioning me?” he laughs and pinned me down to the bed. I was forced to turn back at him.“You will see me f*ck you Zyra. You don’t deserve to be this beautiful when you are useless” he replied as he slid his down his hands down to my waist. I folded my lips in as I whimpered lowly and felt his fingers around my womanhood.“You are still a virgin right?” he asks and I nod my head hoping he wouldn’t go any further but he chuckles instead.“Sweet” he replied and slowly sent his two fingers inside of me.“Ah!” I yelped out in pain.“Yes, feel it” he snickers and lowered his face to my neck and began trailing kisses around my neck while he kept sending his fingers back and forth inside me.I am n
Cade's POV"Alpha Cade!" the crowd cheered as I walked in, my head held high. My father proudly placed his hands on my shoulders, a smile lighting up his face."Double celebration for us, Nightshade. Alpha Cade is plus one today!" he announced, and the room erupted in applause.I smiled, scanning the room until my gaze met Zyra's. Instantly, my smile faded as I noticed the stern expression on her face. She quickly looked away before I could react.Looks like someone has some guts now.I watched as she made her way back into the mansion, determined to get under my skin. Well, I would deal with her later.Amidst the congratulatory wishes from pack members, I grew tired of the noise. The celebration filled every nook and corner, and I decided to retreat inside the mansion. Kevin and Alex walked beside me as we made our way to the hall where the birthday festivities were taking place.Everything was going well—I had assumed my rightful position as the Alpha, the birthday celebration was i
Zyra's POVI couldn't stand the way everyone kept looking at me. Their eyes felt like daggers, death glares and all."Pst! If I was in Alpha Cade's shoes, I would also reject her. How would someone like her be the Luna of our pack?" someone said.I turned around to chase after Cade. He can't do this to me. It's not like I chose to be his Luna. And again, why me, Moon goddess?I could see Alpha Cade walking away as fast as anything could. And why would he leave? He went into his room and slammed the door. He will explain to me what is wrong with him!I stormed into his room, my eyes blazing with anger. "Why are you doing this to me?" I demanded. He stopped in his tracks and turned to me, his expression cold and indifferent."I'm not doing anything to you," he replied and I scoffed."Oh, really?""What makes you think you have the right to question me?""Oh, in case you don't know, Alpha, we are mates! I deserve respect too," I replied, and he laughed."How many times do you need to hea
Zyra POV My jaw dropped as I beheld the figure before me. My imaginings had not been in vain; the Lycan standing in front of me was as breathtakingly handsome as I had always envisioned. But his presence also emanated an eerie intensity that sent shivers down my spine. "Territory?" I managed to stammer, my voice trembling with unease. "What are you doing here?" he retorted sharply, his voice cold and rough. Caught off guard, I struggled to find my words. "Uhm, I... I'm sorry," I blurted out, hoping to defuse the tense atmosphere. His scoffing response only deepened my anxiety. "Sorry? Does that even answer my question?" he replied, his tone dripping with skepticism. Feeling a surge of fear, I instinctively took a step back, creating a bit of distance between us. It was as if every survival instinct within me screamed to escape from his formidable presence. However, curiosity still gnawed at me, urging me to uncover the reason for his unexpected appearance. "Uhm," I cleared my thro
Zyra POV“You can see for yourself that I am useless so you should leave.” I said dismissively as I took a step back and sat on the ground. My heart pounding in my chest and my body trembling and battered.“You haven’t shapeshifted?”“I made it clear.” I groaned lowly and he let out a soft laugh“Is that why they hate you?” he asked“Why shouldn’t they?” I replied and turned away to look elsewhere“Everyone has their own time and there is a first time for everything, your own might not be now but definitely or even something better for you.” He replied and I turned to look at him, locking eyes with him.Marcus, the renowned and powerful Lycan known throughout the supernatural world. His eyes, piercing amber, held a mix of concern and determination as he locked eyes with me"Are you alright?" Marcus's deep voice resonated with genuine worry.“Sorry, I shouldn’t have asked when I can see you are not.” He said immediatelymy voice quivered as I responded, "N-no, I'm not. They…. The
Zyra POVI sat still in the room and waited for Marcus return. While waiting, I took the opportunity to look around the room. The room was adorned with beautiful portraits hanging on the wall, books in shelves and a small wine cellar.A smile graced my lips as I released a low sigh, I sat alone in this room, wrapped snugly in a soft bathrobe. It feels comforting against my weary body, but my mind is still troubled by the events that led me here. I was injured, lost, and alone until Marcus, the powerful Lycan King, stumbled upon me.Marcus... He has a heart of gold; I can tell he is a nice person. When he found me injured and vulnerable, he couldn't bear to leave me behind, I honestly imagined him to diss me and leave. He brought me to his home, providing shelter and care. Such kindness is rare, especially coming from someone with as much power and responsibility as he holds.I wait patiently in the room, contemplating my own thoughts, when a familiar rumbling sound catches my
Marcus POVI do not know how long this pain will continue to occur, no one else but me knows how much I feel. I made an attempt to get back on my feet but I fell back to the ground.Pain! My head, banging profusely and my body convulses with searing pain as I lie crumpled on the unforgiving ground. Groaning and whimpering escape my lips, involuntary sounds wrenched from the depths of my tortured soul. Each groan is a testament to the immense agony that courses through every fiber of my being.“No, I would not want Zyra to come find me this way.” I said in my thoughts but I could not get up from the ground. The weight of my cursed existence presses down on me, making it hard to breathe.“I need to leave here.” I muttered as I gathered my strength together and made a swift movement to the next room and jumped out through the window. This is one of the reasons I do not stay with my pack members, how could they keep seeing their Alpha go through this cursed pain every day.As I
Zyra POVJust as Marcus had said, he refused to follow me back to Alpha Cade. I made my way through the silent forest until I arrived at the pack mansion and stood before the broad gate. I could feel my heart begin to race slowly."Brace yourself Zyra, this might be your last time here after all he rejected you," I said to myself and heaved a sigh. I was about to walk into the open doors when I heard my name from behind."Zyra?" I immediately recognized that voice. It belonged to Alpha Cade's sister! I blinked rapidly before turning around to see her standing with one of her minions, Elara. I inwardly rolled my eyes, preparing for whatever they had to say."Wow, our long-lost toy," Elara chuckled as she did what she knows how to do best - circling around me like I am some prey for her to feed on. I rolled my eyes inwardly and sighed, glaring at her as I clenched my fist."What now?" I rolled my eyes."Wow, where did such audacity come from? Looks like someone has forgotten her place,"
As the sun began to set, casting a warm golden hue over the Shadowheart pack’s territory, the members worked tirelessly to clean up the aftermath of the battle. Bodies were carefully gathered and laid to rest, and the blood-soaked ground was washed clean. Despite the grim task, there was a palpable sense of relief and triumph in the air.The mansion, which had borne witness to so much violence and strife, now stood as a beacon of hope and resilience. The pack members moved with a renewed sense of purpose, their movements swift and efficient. They were united by their victory and the knowledge that they had protected their home and their Luna.Lily and Asher directed the efforts, ensuring that every trace of the battle was erased. Zyra, still recovering from the emotional and physical toll of the fight, watched from the balcony. Her heart swelled with pride as she saw her pack come together in this time of need.By the time night fell, the mansion was spotless, the scars of the battle
The sun had barely risen when the Shadowheart pack was alerted to the impending attack. The air was thick with tension as warriors prepared for what would be the most significant battle they had ever faced. Inside the mansion, Zyra sat by the window, her hands resting on her growing belly. Marcus had insisted she stay indoors, away from the danger, to protect their unborn child.“Promise me you’ll stay here, Zyra,” Marcus had pleaded earlier that morning. “I can’t risk losing you or our baby.”Zyra had reluctantly agreed, knowing the wisdom in his words, but a part of her felt restless. She hated being confined while her pack faced the enemy.Outside, the Shadowheart pack was a flurry of activity. Marcus stood at the forefront, his eyes scanning the horizon. Elara, Thalia, Kieran, and the other key members were by his side, their expressions grim and determined. They knew this battle would decide their fate.In the distance, the Nightshade pack approached, their numbers vast and impos
A few days later, Zyra found herself waking up with the same nauseous feeling. The morning sickness was relentless, and each day seemed to drag on with her feeling more exhausted than the last. Marcus stayed by her side, his concern growing with each passing day.On this particular morning, as the sun’s rays peeked through the curtains, Zyra hurriedly made her way to the bathroom once again. Marcus followed her, his worry etched deeply on his face.“Zyra, are you okay?” he asked, holding her hair back as she knelt over the toilet.Zyra nodded weakly, wiping her mouth. “I’ll be fine. It’s just... this morning sickness is unbearable.”Just as she was about to return to bed, there was a knock on the door. Marcus opened it to find Edna standing there, a calm yet serious expression on her face.“Edna, please come in,” Marcus said, stepping aside to let her enter.Edna walked in, carrying a small bag. She glanced at Zyra with a knowing look. “How have you been feeling, Zyra?”“Tired, nauseo
The morning sun bathed the Shadowheart pack’s territory in a warm, golden light. The air was filled with the scent of pine and earth, and the sounds of birds chirping created a serene backdrop. Zyra and Marcus were busy outside, overseeing the pack’s daily training routines and preparations. They were focused on strengthening their defenses, knowing that the threat from Nightshade was far from over.Zyra, her hair tied back in a tight braid, demonstrated a series of combat moves to a group of young trainees. Her movements were swift and precise, a testament to her growing mastery of her tribid abilities. Marcus stood nearby, his watchful eyes ensuring that everything was running smoothly. As Zyra finished her demonstration, Marcus approached her with a smile. “You’re really getting the hang of it,” he said, admiration evident in his voice.Zyra smiled back, wiping the sweat from her brow. “Thanks, Marcus. It feels good to be able to control my powers better.”Their moment of calm was
Elara, Gaia, Kevin, and Ragnar trudged back to the Nightshade pack’s territory, their bodies weary and spirits low. The sting of their failure was palpable, and a heavy silence hung over the group as they approached the pack’s mansion. They knew the news they carried would incite their Alpha’s wrath. As they crossed the threshold, the pack members gathered around, their faces etched with curiosity and concern. The doors to Cade’s private sanctuary loomed ahead, and with each step, the weight of their defeat pressed harder on their shoulders.Elara knocked on the door, and after a moment, Cade’s gruff voice called them in. The group entered, the atmosphere inside the sanctuary thick with tension. Cade stood by the window, his back to them, staring out into the forest. His posture was rigid, the muscles in his back taut with barely restrained anger.“What happened?” Cade demanded without turning around.Elara stepped forward, her voice trembling slightly. “Alpha, we... we failed. Zyra w
Few hours later, the Shadowheart pack resumed their duties. The sun was high, casting dappled shadows through the dense canopy of the woods where Zyra often trained. She felt a strange atmosphere lingering in the air, a sense of foreboding that made the hair on the back of her neck stand up. Yet, she was prepared.Zyra had been pushing her limits, honing her tribid abilities. The combination of her Lycan strength, witch powers, and vampire agility made her a formidable opponent. She was in the middle of practicing a new spell, weaving fire and earth together, when a rustle in the bushes caught her attention.“Marcus, do you feel that?” Zyra asked, her voice low and alert.Marcus, who had been observing her training with a mixture of pride and admiration, nodded. “Yeah, something’s off. Stay sharp.”The rustling grew louder, and soon, figures emerged from the shadows. Nightshade warriors, led by Elara, Gaia, Kevin, and Ragnar, stepped into the clearing. Their eyes were filled with mali
Cade cleared his throat, drawing their attention. His voice was low and commanding as he began to speak. "The time has come to take decisive action," he stated, his gaze intense. "We cannot allow the Shadowheart Pack, especially Zyra, to gain any more power. We must strike first, and we must strike hard."Elara leaned forward, her eyes glinting with determination. "What's the plan, Alpha?" she asked, her voice steady.Cade took a deep breath, his mind racing with the intricacies of the plot. "We will kidnap Zyra," he declared, the words hanging in the air like a dark cloud. "She is the key to destabilizing their pack. Without her, they lose their strongest asset. We will use her to leverage control over the Shadowheart Pack and force them into submission."A murmur of agreement passed through the group, though Gaia's expression remained thoughtful. "It's a bold move," Gaia said, her voice carrying a note of caution. "But we must be careful. Zyra is not to be underestimated, especially
In the heart of the Nightshade mansion, the tension was palpable. The once vibrant halls now felt suffocating, echoing with the uncertainty and fear gripping the pack. Cade paced restlessly in the dimly lit meeting room, his expression dark and brooding. The weight of recent events had carved deeper lines into his face, and the ruthless determination in his eyes mirrored the growing desperation within him.Cade's frustration was evident as he barked orders to the gathered advisors and enforcers. "We need to tighten our grip. Anyone caught questioning our actions or showing signs of disloyalty will face severe consequences." His voice was cold, devoid of any warmth or compassion. The room fell silent, the pack members exchanging uneasy glances.Gaia, standing at Cade's right, frowned. She had been Cade's advisor for years, and she had seen him in many states, but this was different. His fear of losing control was pushing him towards increasingly brutal measures. "Alpha Cade," she bega
As the sky dimmed with the setting sun, casting a golden hue over the forest, the air grew cooler and the atmosphere more charged. Zyra and Marcus stood facing each other in a secluded clearing, a playful yet determined glint in their eyes. They had been training rigorously, but now there was a different kind of energy between them—a mix of competition, anticipation, and a hint of something more.Marcus stretched his arms, a grin spreading across his face. "Ready to show me what you've got, or are you still holding back?"Zyra chuckled, a teasing light in her eyes. "Holding back? You wish. I've been going easy on you, but maybe it's time to step it up."They circled each other, the forest silent save for the rustling of leaves underfoot. In a flash, Marcus lunged, his movements swift and precise. Zyra dodged gracefully, her reflexes sharpened by her vampiric and Lycan sides. She countered with a quick jab, which Marcus deftly blocked, their hands meeting with a soft thud."Not bad,"
