After leaving a few stuff to let simmer, Ruby covered the exquisite dishes she made before going upstairs to change into more comfortable yet formal clothing as well as fix her appearance. She's not aiming to seduce the demon or anything, but of course, being clean and presentable is just common courtesy for hosts even if your guest is very unwelcome.
Ruby faced her vanity after washing her face. Her eyes look tired and her lips are chapped. Her skin is paler and clearly dehydrated while her silver tresses are disheveled. She sighed with displeasure. Even though she has the appearance of a very young maiden still at the bloom of her maidenhood, Ruby is actually older than what she appears to be much like the other witches and right now she is feeling as old as her real age.
She still can't believe that she summoned a demon and now he's probably bathing in her bathtub and washing away the thousands of years of grime and filth from his body. She'll have to thoroughly clean it after he leaves. Who knows what sort of germs or viruses he is carrying around.
Ruby sighed and crashed down on her bed. Meeting and interacting with Aleister, as well as conducting the ritual is both physically and mentally exhausting. She needs to be always on her guard and alert for the smallest moves that he makes to ensure her safety and her anonymity regarding this whole debacle. So far the demon hasn't made any moves that will indicate or lead to any harm towards her but she can't lower her guard. He is not her ally therefore he is her enemy but if she plays neutrally, then the two of them might come to an agreement which hopefully, will include his departure and avoidance of mentioning her name to anyone he will meet.
After composing her thoughts and fixing herself, Ruby went downstairs donning a casual long black slim-fit dress with a cross back design and a long slit on the skirt. Even though their supposed dinner is not formal nor romantic, Ruby loves to indulge herself with glamorous fashion regardless of the occasion. Aesthetics is one of the greatest desires of witches if not all women, second to knowledge of course.
"Well don't you look ravishing? I might reconsider eating you." Aleister commented as he descended from the stairs with an amused smile as mischief danced in his crimson orbs.
"I'm flattered but I must decline. Please wait for a few moments, your majesty. Serving our meal shall only take a minute." Aleister only nodded and paused on the staircase watching her with a hawk-like stare which made her extremely uncomfortable and agitated but she did her best not to show it.
Ruby served the food she prepared on the table complete with his diet blood mead in a beautiful clear pitcher with purple butterfly designs and gold rims. Her eyes widened when she finally realized whose clothing the demon wore. He had stolen her purple hoodie and wore a pair of black slacks she definitely didn't own. He looked like the typical bad boy with his wet hair and his hands tucked in the pocket of HER hoodie. He almost looked like a normal teen except for the horns and the skin and his mismatched crimson eyes.
Ruby didn't address the issue and pretended that it didn't bother her as she placed plates and utensils on both sides of the table before inviting him to choose a seat.
Aleister took a seat on the head of the table opposite of her and started digging into the meticulously made four-course meal she had prepared for him. Digging in seemed to be an understatement since it was more like devouring because the demon was eating worse than an animal starved for a whole week.
Aleister stopped eating when he noticed the witch's stare and growled as if not wanting to share his meal before returning to gobbling his side of the table. Ruby averted her eyes from his awful display and focused on eating her vegetable salad with mashed potatoes side dish and fruit slices. She ate meekly like a lady while her familiar sat on the table eating a fish larger than himself using a knife and fork too big for him.
"May I ask what it is that you plan to do from now on?" Ruby started trying to break the awkward silence between the two of them. Aleister finally looked up from his meal looking like a carnivorous chipmunk with his cheeks stuffed full with beef and chicken. He swallowed the contents of his mouth in one gulp and then whipped his lips with a napkin. At least he had enough manners to wipe his face and talk with an empty mouth, thought Ruby.
"Since I was cramped so long in endless oblivion of chaos, I would like to go and explore the world." The demon answered as he took a swig from his goblet of blood mead.
"I think I want to see different things for a change after all of that chaotic nothingness. It might help me remember who I was after so long."
"Styx." the witch suddenly blurted.
"What?"
"You said that you fell into a river the first time you arrived in the 13 Circles. That must be the reason why you forgot all about your past. The River Styx is also a River of Forgetfulness where the dead drink from to return to the mortal world to be reborn anew. That must be the reason why you can't remember anything." Ruby explained as she stabbed a carrot with her fork before putting it in her mouth.
"If that's the case then how do I remember what I forgot?"
"I'm not sure but according to the book that I've read, you didn't really lose your memories. Your body forgets it when you die, or get dunked in the river but not your soul. According to the author if you want to remember certain things must trigger the memories and perhaps traveling would really help you."
"Wow, that was no help at all. I planned on traveling in the first place, I didn't need you to tell me my whole plan." The witch frowned at the demon's rudeness.
"How many years do you think you've spent in the 13?"
"I'm not entirely sure. Time doesn't really work there but I guess it felt like about 20, 000 years."
"If it felt that way then perhaps you've only spent a few hundred years give or take 400 since 100 years here is 5,000 there. That's the estimated conversion of the Circles' timeline to our own. You're a demon so why not start exploring Pandora's Chasm, or whatever is left of it. You might've been a general or a soldier that got blasted into another dimension during the war 400 years ago. You might find remnants of your past there but it's a really dangerous place even after its collapse after the deaths of their leaders and most of their population. The other demons might be dismantled but they are still ferocious as individuals." Aleister nodded taking her words into consideration.
"Right, so where do I go to reach that place?"
"South. As far south there is. I'll give you a map you can use. It's best if you leave before dawn, demon hunters might spot you and delay your travels."
"Basically you're just trying to get rid of me as fast as possible." the demon guessed, directing her with a playful smile.
"Yes." Ruby answered plainly.
"Such a shame, I quite enjoy your company."
"Well I can't say the same for you but this certainly spiced up my weekend although my services always require payment. You owe me four favors regardless of the magnitude of what I have done. The first is for giving you your freedom, the second is for welcoming and feeding you under my roof, the third is for the mead, and the fourth is for a place to start your quest therefore I have 4 requests."
"How bold of you to demand something from a Prince of the Inferno but... Name your terms and I shall judge them."
"First you will forget you ever heard the name Rubisviel Fyaril, Witch of the Dark Forest. Second, you will never utter my name or anything about me to anyone else. You will deny ever meeting me or any affiliation with me. Third, you will guarantee no harm to me because of your actions if you ever seek to conquer the world. The fourth shall be something I will decide upon the next time we meet. If that shall ever happen."
"Very well. I accept your terms. I'll make sure to never get close to you ever again so that I don't have to comply with your bidding." Aleister finally stood from the table and, surprisingly, thanked her for the meal. Ruby took a map tucked inside a book and handed it to him before leading him towards the exit.
Aleister summoned back his wings which miraculously didn't destroy the fabric of her, or now his, hoodie. He faced her once more and suddenly kissed her full on the lips completely taking her off-guard. Ruby tried to push him away on instinct but he held her hand rendering her powerless. His kiss didn't linger long because he soon pulled away.
"What the hell?!" the witch yelled in anger and astonishment before wiping her lips on the sleeve of her dress.
"It just felt right." he whispered while looking down at her face with melancholic eyes. His demeanor quickly changed back to a smirk.
"Anyways good riddance, bella!" Aleister bid before unfolding his wings and taking off towards the dark night sky leaving the witch fuming and cursing.
Manticat soon flew near her and made kissy faces to tease her. The familiar seemed to snicker at her and Ruby grabbed him to punish him by pinching his cheeks.
"Let's just go to bed. It's no use crying over spilled milk, what I need right now is a warm bath and a good slumber." Ruby yawned before closing the door and ordering the dishes to clean themselves, which is the handiest magic she ever learned.
"I hope I never see that bastard again."
"From now on, I'm going to live here with you." Aleister declared as he sat opposite her on the breakfast table. The demon had suddenly popped back in after three days at four in the morning. He caused quite a ruckus downstairs that Ruby thought that he was a thief, so she went down only in her lavender slip with black laces and nearly sliced him with her scythe but he blocked the blade with his bare hand while eating a leftover sandwich, unfazed by her sudden attack.
When they reached the heroes' housing unit, Phoebus immediately led Ruby to Heriette's room and informed her of the situation. Ruby found a girl with feline features gasping for breath sitting on a recliner chair. The girl had twitching white cat ears protruding from the top of her brown hair and a matching white tail. Her eyes were also non human since her irises were slits instead of rounds. This is the first time that Ruby met with Phoebus' faunus friend and it is truly fascinating to see her kind again. The fauna are inter
"Rubisviel?" the said girl walking out of the building turned around to see who had addressed her and saw her auburn-haired mage friend waving enthusiastically at her after seeing her face. A smile graced her lips as she waved back to her friend."Morning, Geneva." she greeted as the mage walked closer to her.Geneva Violet Bellthorne is the second daughter of the Bellthorne House, one of the richest, most famous, noble familie
The sun rose above the horizon in the gentle comforting warmth of the morning. The birds perched on the tree branches sang songs of the day's glory while wild butterflies flutter playfully in the garden where myriads of flowers unfold their gorgeous petals to showcase to the world. Ruby's eyes slowly opened due to the sunlight passing through her window, rousing her from another wonderful dream with the prince whose face she can't remember. The witch sat up from her bed and checked the time from her bedside clock and saw that
Leanna Venice sat inside a cafe watching the people pass by outside the window. Her phone vibrated in her hand signaling a new text and she instantly opened it to see if it was from the person she was just thinking about. She closed her eyes for a bit, debating whether or not to still check it out if it was really from him or just a spam text from the service provider. She sighed before checking the message, curiosity finally getting to her."Hey sis, since ur out mind buying me and Heriette a piece of cake? Love u"
"Ugghh, do I really have to carry all these bags? Can't you take a few of them since most of them are yours?" Aleister complained before sitting on the bench."I basically paid for all of these and aren't you a strong and powerful demon? Also, the heavier ones are your sneakers." Ruby argued joining him on the bench.
After Gallen left Ruby didn't miss the sad look on Leanna's face as she watched him leave. She soon noticed tears pouring out of her eyes. The witch couldn't think of an insult to throw at her because she herself knew what it was like to see the man that you love happy with someone else. How he seemed happier with her more than he ever did with you and it makes you feel inadequate and pathetic. The feeling is crushing and it makes you feel hollow and empty like a pretty shell abandoned by the beach, being repeatedly hit by the harsh waves that slowly break you down and bury you under the rough sand deeper and deeper and deeper unless you pull yourself together and be just like the waves trying to destroy you. Waves are relentless and resilient regardless of
"Remind me again where we're going. I've been flying for hours now. My wings are aching and I'm carrying all these dirty clothes which I should tell you is not very heavy. Not heavy at all." Aleister complained floating beside Ruby who only carried a nice basket filled with food.
"I didn't expect that you would be this weak, Neherra. Where's that spunk you've been boasting off for centuries? It's no wonder that even my young daughter could kill you. It's her fate after all and your destiny is to be killed by her hands that's why you've been trying so hard to kill her. But you know what, witch queen? I'll never let you lay a single hand on my daughter." Cadmus declared in a menacing and authoritative voice as he stood in front of the bowed demon queen. The fierce battle that raged between them ended with Cadmus as the obvious winner while Neherra gasped for her breath below his feet. "Then why don't you just kill me and get things over with! Or do you not have the balls to kill me, you spineless dragon!" Neherra screamed as she glared at him fiercely.
It was a dreadful night. The blood moon that bathed the world with a crimson light seemed like it was mimicking the carnage of the land down below. Even the light of the billions of stars in the sky couldn't dispel the malevolent aura that seemed to emanate from the corrupt moon that appears to be watching the world like a condescending eye. Fear and panic reverberated across the atmosphere as death and destruction devoured the light of hope. If an outsider would take a look at the world they would say that it was hell and not the world of mortals. The chaos was especially prevalent in the Splendor Palace where the rich and powerful were supposed to be safe and enjoying a party of their own. Now their careless merriment has turned into despair with no way of escape but a small force of brave fighters are doing their best to fight back against the forces of darkness that ascended from hell. Injured and broken, bleeding and battered, the brave her
"What the hell are you doing? You've been drawing there since we finished making love. Aren't you going to get some rest?" Althreya mumbled groggily as she sat up in his extravagant golden bed wrapped only in the exquisite fur and linens from unknown exotic lands. Her fine bare body dented the soft mattress of the bed while streaks of sunlight haloed her cascading locks. To the man who sat drawing over his varnished table, Althreya looked like a goddess of beauty regardless of her disheveled appearance."I am merely indulging my fancy. If you've missed me that much even though we've spent five days and nights fucking our hearts out, then I would say that you are already in love with me. Well, no one can blame you for that. None can resist my charms anyways." joked Cadmus, making Althreya roll her eyes in annoyance."You fuck harder than you fight." retorted Althreya as she gathered the clothing her gracious host had provided only
A new dawn has arrived and in its wake, a new king is crowned. The proud Kingdom of Camelot had collapsed, the Knights of the Round Table had perished with it, and a new empire rose from its soils born from its people. The new empire is named Neo-Macedonia, ruled by Aurelius Parabellum II, grandson of Augustus Parabellum. Althreya Pendragon, the last queen of Camelot, and her most loyal knights fled from the ruins of Camelot and chose to live a simpler life in the northern region. She returned to the ancestral home of her mother in a small region called Colchester. Albeit being smaller and less grand than their former residence, Althreya and her knights led a life of hunting beasts and slaying down monsters and demons to protect their new home. With the blessing of the Holy Sword Excalibur, the former queen and her chosen knights were able to maintain their youthful prime years never
"My father?!!" Ruby exclaimed in bewilderment. She can't believe the words this man just uttered. Surely he must be bluffing. It's impossible! How can he be her father? Her mother never mentioned anything about him regardless of how many times she begged for the truth. Althreya would always refuse and say that she has work to do that's why she gave up on the topic. Now this man, this stranger from nowhere, comes up to her and tells her he's her father. How the hell is she supposed to feel about it? Anyway, there's also the possibility of an ulterior motive behind his introduction. He might actually be evil or something, so he drew her away from her friends before kidnapping her or murdering her. The only way to find out if he's telling the truth is to see if he really knew her mother so might as well play a little game. "What's mommy's favorite color?" "Blue." Well, that's correct but it was prett
Ruby stepped out of her carriage and gazed upon the proud edifice that housed the most powerful family in the length and breadth of the realm. The brightest lights illuminated the walls of the silver towers highlighting their magnificent architecture and beauty. The gardens are curated to perfection where the hedges are all trimmed and decorated with ribbons and fairy lights. Pixies frolic around while the fairies presented their elegant waltz in the air. The beautiful jewel-covered nymphs used their powers to make the water dance in the little canals and fountains, enchanting everyone as they entered. There are myriads of curiosities and experiences waiting to be discovered and it was just the entrance, what more could the insides hold. The sheer diversity and individuality of everything and everyone contributed to the radiance and majesty of the party making everything become more magical as you go deeper into the castle.
Aurelius sat her on his lap before wrapping his arms around her waist while their lips caress each other with passion and sorrow. Ruby removed his coat and unbuttoned his shirt to expose his strong muscles where sweat dripped down his skin that glistened like ivory. The maiden allowed her hand to explore the tenderness of his beautifully built figure and appreciated the well-defined lines that traced the broadness of his chest and the lengths of his arms.Aurelius pulled down her strap to expose her ample bosom and began caressing her soft delicate mounds that perfectly fit his palms. He teased, squeezed, and twisted her buds to allow her core to lubricate faster as his tongue traced the line on her jaw up to her ears making Ruby moan with pleasure and arousal. The maiden retrieved his slumbering python from the comforts of his pants and roused it with the gentle kisses of her fingertips. Aurelius also inserted his fingers inside her panties to tease her c
The chilling cold hugged her body in its comforting embrace as the water wiped away her tear into non-existence. Silence reigned and darkness engulfed her body as the water muted the world yet it did little to console her heart and wipe away the sorrow which lingers in her chest after finding out about Caspian's demise. Ruby didn't last long in the water as she finally decided to rise to the surface and cleanse her body. She sat herself on top of a boulder and took out a potion which she used to massage her hair with. She allowed it to settle on her locks before focusing on scrubbing the dirt and grime on her body as well as the blood of the demon who pretended to be her friend. She decided to redirect her mind into a different topic than Caspian's death. Sadness and sorrow will do a leader no good. A paragon abandons
Caspian and Ezekiel stood there and remained silent waiting for her to speak. Ruby slumped on the chair never minding her posture and manners as the two joined her on the seats around the table. "You should really leash your cousin, Cassy. He's gone too ballsy speaking to our Ruby like that." Ezekiel spoke spitefully. "That fool is naturally like that. I'm sorry that he treated you that way, dear Ruby." Caspian apologized to the maiden who poured herself a glass of water before drinking tiredly from her golden cup. "It's okay. I'm numb to it. Let the dogs bark because they are mindless beasts. Caspian, I heard that you and your soldiers were ambushed on your way here. Are you well?" "Oh, yes. It was a tough battle and some were even able to drag me deep into the woods to separate me from my squad however no demon will amount to the might of a northern soldier. I sent them scrambling with one roar and a swing of a blade. No one can stop me
