Chapter Ninety Four

Nothing was familiar, she was on the outskirts of a city, whose name she did not know and there was little to no shelter and she began to shiver with the cold and with the fear of the unknown. Somehow she staggered to a nearby tree and clung to its firm trunk as the winds picked up and buffeted her from every direction. Dawn was trying to break through and the sky was turning from inky black to steel grey and the heavy clouds in the distance began to drift lower and lower.

Max, Toby, Aaron and Kate were all university students studying Meteorology, the study of the atmosphere, like the climate and the weather and in particular Paleotempestology, the estimation of cyclone activity using proxy data. They had been chasing this storm for hours and were delighted it finally looked like it was turning into something they could use for their studies.

‘Looks like it’ll hit the ground real soon.’

Toby stated excitedly from his laptop,

‘Got a lot of data coming in.’
