Nate’s POV
When I opened my eyes, I realized I was sitting on a chair. My feet and hands were tied-up to it.
I honestly do not remember a single detail about my life. All I know is I am dead already. So, I tried to find where I was.
I am in the middle of the darkness. So, I tried to free myself from being tied to the chair, but I stopped when a few minutes later, a man appeared in front of me, “W-Who a-are y-you?” I asked him while stuttering. So, he looked at me, and he started to speak.
“I am Nathan Montefalco,” he introduced himself to me, “Your former classmate,” he said, so I became happy.
Phoenix’s POV “My older brother destroyed my life,” I started to talk to Patricia, “He falsely claimed to dad and mom I was smoking. Dad died due to a heart attack when he did that horrible thing.” I said, so my tears started to fall again. Patricia and I are sitting on the bed in my room. “Is that the reason why you are acting coldly around your mother?” She asked me. So, I nodded in response to her question. A few seconds later, I held her hand, and I started to speak. “Mom blamed me for what happened to dad,” I said to her. Then, I wiped out my tears. After that, I told her every horrible thing my brother did to me. “Promise me you will not tell anyone I killed my older brother, including Sage!” When she heard what I said, she pull
Phoenix’s POV I received a text message from Melody when I turned on my phone. According to her, she has a surprise for me. She also told me to go to an abandoned building near the school. I am not going to lie; I am worried right now. If something terrible happens to Patricia because of Melody, I will kill her. I put my phone in my pocket and went to the abandoned building. I became more worried about the safety of Patricia when I saw her car parked near the school entrance. I would be honest; I was hopeful she was alright, but I was wrong. Tsk! Patrick’s POV
Phoenix’s POV When SPO2 Patrick Smith, Sage, and I arrived in an abandoned building, I closed my hands after seeing the corpse of Patricia hanging on the ceiling. “Call backup, Patrick,” Sage ordered to him. So, I smirked, then I kneeled. After that, I screamed. I cried like a toddler in front of them, so they would not blame me for what happened here. A few seconds later, Sage touched me on my left shoulder. “Calm down—” he did not manage to continue to speak when I forcefully removed his hand from touching my shoulder. “Calm down? My cousin died! How can I calm down?!” I asked while crying. So, he sarcastically laughed. “Can you please stop acting like that,” he coldly s
Phoenix’s POV When I realized it was now morning, I organized my things. I will go to school today. I did not speak with mom when having breakfast because I still could not believe that Patricia was dead. I am not going to lie; I am angry at Melody for what she did to her. When I entered my classroom, I sat on the chair at its last part beside the window and Sage. I just looked through the window while my other classmates were noisy. A few minutes later, our teacher arrived. Then, he started the class. I will be honest; I am not in the mood to listen to his lecture right
Sebastian’s POV When break time had arrived, I went to the school garden. Then I sat on the bench. I learned that Patricia died. According to some people, someone killed her because she knew who killed Nate. What happened to her made me think if revealing that Melody helped the person who killed Nate to hide his crime is correct or not. The parents of Patricia and the mother of Phoenix also went to school yesterday. Her dad punched Phoenix because he blamed him for what happened to her. I am not going to lie; I pity Phoenix because her dad blames him for her death.
Phoenix’s POV Sage put the warrant of arrest of Melody back in his pocket. Then, he looked at SPO2 Patrick Smith. “Handcuff her,” Sage ordered him. So, he did what he said. “You have the right to remain silent and get a lawyer who will defend you. Anything you say and will be used against you in the court of law.” He said to Melody, which terrified me. Impossible! He scored against me, and I know he would do anything to force Melody to admit I killed my older brother. It is the end of everything I planned! After SPO2 Patrick Smith handcuffed Melody, he and Sage took her away from the garden. No! It is not yet over! He just scored against me, but he still has not won the fi
Patrick’s POV Sage, the other police officers, and I brought Melody to the hospital. She should not die because she is still young. Also, she is one of the keys to solving Nate’s case. After bringing Melody to the Emergency Room, Sage, other police officers, and I sat on the vacant chairs’ rows outside the room. “Tell the parents of Patricia and Elisa to go here,” Sage ordered me. “Because they must know what we found out.” He added. So, I did what he wanted me to do. I called the father of Patricia. A few seconds later, he answered the phone call. “Hello,” he said to me. “Hello,” I said to him. Sage is right; they need to know the infor
Patrick’s POV Sage and I learned the biological parents of Melody died when she was four years old. A couple who could not have a child adopted Melody. Two days after Melody died, Sage and I decided to bury her because we noticed her adopted parents did not care for her. When I told them Melody died, they did not bother to go to the Philippines. I meant they chose to take care of their business instead of her. Maybe that was the reason why she became a murderer. I hope they did not adopt Melody because they did not love her. Sage and I were in his condo unit. He sat on the sofa while solving a
