Celina

“I’m so sorry,” I say before taking another sip of water.

“Can you sit up?” she asks.

The ocean sounds and black spots are gone. She takes the water from my hand and I sit up and drop my legs to the floor. “I’m so embarrassed. Just give me a moment and I’ll leave.”

Her sigh is not a friendly sound. She walks to her office door and opens it. Before I can stand and rush out, a giant dog walks through the door. Mak places her hand out and he licks her fingers. “Two-dogs, sit.” He sits; his face is upturned and he’s watching Mak like she’s a large T-bone steak. She leaves him and walks to a chair next to the sofa. She pulls it out a bit and takes a seat. “Now you need to go through both of us in order to leave. You are going to drink the rest of your water and then tell me what the hell is going on. Drink.”

At the final word, the dog gives a slight growl. I tip the bottle again and finish half of the water. I lift my eyes to Mak’s. She’s not smiling, but there is concern in her gaz

AlexMoon listened to everything I had on Celina. There were no jokes about my feelings for her. He didn’t tease me that it was only one afternoon in a hotel room. It was like that when he met Madison. He knew there was something worth exploring, and I guess that’s how I feel about Celina. Who the hell really knows, though? What I do know is that after I spent time with Celina, I got the best night’s sleep I can remember having in a very long time. Images of her replaced the horrific images I usually suffer from.Moon knows the DC is bad news. It also means bad news for us if they aren’t handled carefully. We talked for more than an hour and then Moon left to take Madison to lunch. Marcus went with him. Marcus has been pulled from another detail to help Colby shadow Moon for the foreseeable future. With Moon’s aunt, Victor Corbin, and now the DC, Moon will have a man on him at all times. Rack is partnering with Jess whether Jess and Madison like it or not.I have a man who may be able

AlexI need to control myself long enough to explain and then I’m fucking her until she can’t walk. “Madison set me up.” It’s the truth, and I’m going to strangle Moon’s wife as soon as I have a chance. Okay, maybe not strangle, but she’s most definitely on my shit list.Celina walks over and slams the door leading outside. I guess she’s not as afraid of me as she looked when I charged into the room. She turns around and places her hands on her hips, her eyes flashing and it takes everything I have not to throw her on the bed. She eyes the gun in my shoulder harness that’s on full display without my suit jacket. It doesn’t stop her from challenging me. “And why would Mak do something so stupid?”I shrug. It was damn stupid, that I can’t argue. “She told me she sent you here to meet a client.”Her shocked expression returns. “She knows I’m living here. There’s no way I would bring any client near this place. You… shouldn’t be here.” Her eyes leave me and her gaze travels around the roo

CelinaI have no idea what just happened. I don’t even know this man. He paid for sex with me yesterday. That’s it and things should have ended there. He has a connection to Madison or at least more of one than I realized. She sent him here for some stupid reason that makes no sense to me. The man who barreled through the door was completely savage. Nothing like the Alex I met in the hotel room yesterday. He’s situated us so I’m lying on top of him and his semen practically has us sticking together. No man has ever touched me on such an animalistic level. Hell, the only other two men in my life were boys compared to him.Alex threads his fingers through my hair and kisses my temple. God, what he does to me. What he did to me! I’ve never done anal and when he put his finger there… oh, fuck. I’ll never be able to meet his eyes again. Well, unless he’s fucking me. I love the way he looks when he fucks me. Intense and possessive. The pain and sadness leave his gaze then.“Who are you?” I

CelinaThe large iron gates open slowly and we drive through. The house is actually a two-story sprawling mansion with white adobe walls. A huge fountain takes up the area about twenty feet from the front door. The water cascades into a round pool bigger than my last apartment. The sun is still shining, but the color of the sky is changing. This signals the beginning of a three-hour change from daylight to darkness in the desert. The sun will completely set by nine. The temperature will only take a marginal drop.Alex parks on the circular drive between the fountain and house. It’s a Spanish-style monstrosity. I’ve only ever seen pictures of homes like this in magazines. It’s difficult to remember to keep my mouth closed. I’m surprised when Alex clasps his warm hand around my fingers and squeezes. The front door opens and Mak exits with Moon at her back. She places her hand out to me after walking down the steps. Alex doesn’t release my right hand, so I offer my left. Mak’s eyes spark

Celina“Thank you, Gabriella. Why don’t you join us?” Strangely, Mak’s lips quirk when she asks. After another string of Spanish from Gabriella, I understand why.“Would you care for wine?” Moon asks after Gabriella marches from the room muttering.“Yes, wine please,” I tell him. I actually need something stronger, like a gallon of moonshine, maybe.Mak, who’s now smiling full out, tries to reassure me. “Gabriella is that way with everyone she meets. Don’t let her get to you. She has a heart of gold and is very loyal. She also cooks the best food I’ve ever tasted. Help yourself. We don’t stand on ceremony, even when forced to eat in the dining room. It’s an argument I’ve yet to win with Gabriella.”“She really didn’t like me.”“Well, she defended you to Gomez and told him not to mark up your lovely skin and turn you into a tramp. Or at least that’s what I think that word means.”My hand immediately covers my neck and upper chest in mortification.“Madison,” Moon says sternly.“Well, I

AlexI park the SUV inside the warehouse beside one of our black Caddies. SUVs are great, but an actual trunk is needed to conceal a body, even if it’s a live one. The Caddies are also lower to the ground and take sharp turns better if you need the speed. Moon’s vehicles are modified with kick-ass engines and bulletproof glass. I tend to drive the car that fits my mood. Every so often it’s the Bugatti. It’s flashy and draws attention, which means I can’t have nefarious plans like I do now. Maybe I’ll take Celina for a nighttime desert ride in the Bugatti. Blevins and Juan are standing with Rack by the door to the back room. I walk over and give the nod to the first two men. They get lost quickly. Their shift ended at six and they have vehicles waiting outside. The two men who relieve them will come to the warehouse district when this shit is finished.“What condition is he in?” I ask Rack.“The worst is a broken wrist. I’m sure the cuffs attaching him to the chains are painful. He k

CelinaI choose the guest room to sleep in because I don’t feel comfortable crawling between Alex’s sheets in his bedroom. I lie awake for a long time and think about Alex and Kiley—Alex the killer and Kiley the young, innocent child. I barely know either of them and they’ve both changed my life. How do I reconcile what’s happening?I never expected to fall asleep, but I jerk awake when the lamp beside the bed comes on. Squinting, I make out Alex resting his hip on the bed beside me. His tie is loosened and he appears exhausted. I fight myself to not reach out and smooth my hand across his face. The agony I read in his expression is a physical ache that hits me hard. He blinks and gains control. Now I want to wrap him in my arms because I know he’s masking the pain.“Is there a reason you’re not in my room?” he asks quietly. His voice sounds strange. I’m not sure if he’s pissed off or trying not to startle me.I roll in his direction which puts me closer. I smell him, he’s showered an

CelinaThe man gives me a steady look. “Hello, ma’am. Please call me Dax.” His blue eyes appear menacing on his bruised face. I’m fairly sure he’s the guy who followed us on the bike. I’m not into the skinhead look, but I can’t deny he’s attractive. Whereas Alex and Moon look and act like gentlemen, this man is rough with hard edges. I have little doubt that he’s as deadly as the other two men in the room.“Are you with the Desert Crows?” I ask because I need to be sure.He gives me a slight grimace but answers, “Yes.”I turn to Alex. “Why is he here?”His fingers relax and his grip turns into a caress. “Let him tell you.” Alex nods and Dax starts talking.Within a few minutes I breathe easier, feeling as if a hundred pounds have been lifted from my chest. He’s seen Kiley and she was okay as of earlier today. He tells us the story of how he joined the Crows after leaving prison. Many things run through my mind—drug addict, thief, sexual predator. The last thought makes me tighten my f

I rolled over and yawned, my arms coming from beneath the soft white cotton of the bedding and bumped the hard body next to me. Moon’s hand went into my hair and he moved his leg between mine and something very hard hit my belly making me smile. The smile lasted a few seconds before I covered my hand and jumped from the bed trying to get to the toilet before I lost the contents of my stomach. Yep, that was sexy. This time the hand in my hair pulled it back away from my face while I heaved my guts. He didn’t say anything and just waited for me to finish. It was horrible and at the same time endearing because I loved him so much. I stood and leaned back against his body. “Crawl back into bed and I’ll grab tea and crackers,” Moon said gently. I wanted to bitch and moan about the morning sickness but held it in. When I had my shoulder injury that took me from my career as a cop, I had a small amount of control. I could do my physical therapy and ice as needed and it worked. There was

Duke The wedding night was at the cabin and our honeymoon at the property. We had a week to ourselves. Cori laughed when I carried her over the threshold and straight to my bed. “Do not touch that dress,” I typed into my phone before checking the house was secure and I could fuck my wife for the first time. Her laughter followed me. When I walked back into the room, she was waiting exactly where I left her, smart woman. She opened her legs wide, the stilettos going to either side of the bed. A bit of red showed. The dress was fucking perfect. I crawled between her legs and pushed the yards of black lace up higher in the bed and snagged the red G-string with a finger. The garter wasn’t in my way. Cori sat up suddenly and stopped my exploration. “You spoke your vows.” I smiled even though my dick throbbed. “Thank you,” she added and lay back. I planned to fuck her until she couldn’t walk or talk. I didn’t remove the red nothing lace. I lazily fingered her, then took a long, slo

CoriIf I weren’t lying down, I would have fallen. Of all the things she could say, it was the last I expected and I couldn’t hide my shock.“No, I’m not pregnant yet but we’ve decided to try. We’re leaving and starting a family. Alex and Celina are taking over Moon’s operation.” She turned to Celina. “I’ll call it Alex’s operation eventually.”“Are you sure?” I asked softly.I was having trouble processing.“I’m absolutely positive. I thought I never wanted children but when Moon brought it up, I knew I was wrong. I want Moon’s babies.”“As in multiple?” I asked in horror.Children wasn’t something I ever wanted. I was not a rug rat fan and could tolerate Sofia’s rug rats for a limited time only. I thought Mak and I were on the same page.“We’ll decide if we want another after the first.”“Congratulations,” I offered, my voice uncertain.Melina started laughing.“You’re taking it how I did. The last thing needed in this world is a mini Austin.”I could most definitely second that.“O

CoriLife slowly returned to normal, though my new normal was much different than the old one. Things changed more after the cast came off and Duke could ride again. That’s when I became a true biker bitch.I blinged the shit out of my newly purchased black wardrobe and made that shit look good. I had standing orders from the other old ladies too. The club whores and I had a talk and we seemed to be on good terms. My end of that conversation was short.“Keep your hands off my man and we won’t have a problem. Touch him, even when I’m not around, and you’ll lose a fucking nipple, we clear?”They were fine with it. I understood their world. Respect was key. I had no problem with their choices as long as they respected me and my man.Dax’s club was a community of misfits and I fit in like I never thought I could. They didn’t care that I arrived in five-inch stilettos, looking like I was heading to a ritzy club. They accepted me as Duke’s old lady.Duke spoke to Dax and arranged a week off

Cori“How is Mr. Grumpy today?” Mak asked. She had her overprotective Pitbull at her side. I hadn’t seen Two-dogs since I arrived with Duke. I contained myself to the kitchen and Duke’s room. Two-dogs stayed out of Gabriella’s domain because the two of them stayed at war over what was permissible and what was not. I secretly thought Gabriella slipped the dog treats when no one watched but I had no way to prove it. I guess her new kindness made me think she was something other than Attila the Hun. I needed to watch those stupid fantasies. With assistance, Duke had made it downstairs for this morning’s physical therapy. He refused pain meds afterward and fell asleep exhausted. It gave me time to do something normal. I’d quietly left the room and gone to the outside patio to escape. The heat, even with the water misters, would make it too hot to stay for long but it was nice to be outside.I blinked at Mak who carried a towel. She took the lounge chair beside mine.“He’s sleeping. DukeMy biggest problem was boredom. It almost went hand in hand with people poking and prodding constantly. I didn’t live at the clubhouse for a reason. If it weren’t for Cori, I would have found a way to escape Moon’s place the first day. Maybe. I was fooling myself. The ability to lift a spoon to my lips was pushing things.I remembered little about what happened at Wild Fur. Between blood loss and the damage to my stomach, I should have died in oblivion. Things were foggy since waking too. I remembered telling Cori I loved her. It just came out. I hadn’t practiced speaking in years. It was something I did when younger when no one was around. I never felt comfortable with the sound of my voice and eventually decided it wasn’t necessary. That was true until Cori. There were things she needed to hear. Cori hadn’t asked me to speak since it happened. I doubted she even understood what I’d said.My grandfather took me in when my dad went to prison for almost killing me. They were the b

CoriThe air in the room was soft if that were even a thing. There were four rows of chairs. There was a podium at the front. No crucified Jesus hung from the wall, only a large framed needlepoint with writing.“Enter in peace and leave your sorrow.”I sat in the front row and bowed my head. My prayer was to Jesus.“I’ve never asked for anything.”Tears gathered in my eyes and turned to sobs. I couldn’t go on and fell apart. So many thoughts tumbled through my head. I was the whore of Babylon. If there were a man who would hear me, it would be Jesus.“Please,” was all I managed the next time I tried. The quiet settled over me and I inhaled in and out slowly. Within a few minutes, I wiped my tears. The room, like Duke with his silence, gave me peace. It also gave me strength.I went back to ICU and held his hand again. He wouldn’t die because I wouldn’t let him. I spoke to him quietly and assured him all would be okay. I spoke of silly things. I had to keep the connection so he knew I

CoriIt took us more than three hours to get back to the city and another hour through rush-hour traffic to get to Wild Fur. Moon sent his men in first and stayed with me in the SUV. Alex and Austin were with the other women at his compound. Moon didn’t want them here. He’d also left a vehicle behind with four men on Duke’s property to dispose of the bodies. The men cleared inside the Wild Fur quickly. There were two female employees cleaning and handling inventory. The place didn’t open until eight at night. They weren’t harmed and they were assured they could leave after we found Duke. The men hadn’t located him when they cleared the building. Moon and I entered and were shown the entrance to the basement.A light had been turned on. It looked no better than the club upstairs. I saw a rat scurry along the wall. Moon found the hidden door within a few minutes. He pried it open and we entered the dark room. The smell of excrement and death hit us.Death.I couldn’t breathe. In the sha

CoriDuke never left my thoughts. If he was dead, so was I. My life changed that fast. We hadn’t known each other long and it didn’t matter. He was everything I wanted and most of all he was someone who loved me for who I was. I knew he loved me. He shared his silent world and refused to take advantage when he could have. From the time his arms wrapped around me in the car after my escape from Fernandez, we belonged together. My past didn’t matter to him because he lived in a world where endurance and hard work were part of life. Duke and the men like him respected survival.Moon brought more firepower than required and the guns we’d pulled from the cave weren’t exactly needed. I decided to stick with Duke’s weapons because he made sure I was familiar with them. A piece of him was with me.Our plan had been to ambush the vehicles a mile before the entrance to the property. Alex moved the attack to the house. I wasn’t worried about Cartwright’s men knowing the location. None would leav
