Emily's leaving

The next morning, Emily saw her parents arranging some items, but her mind was elsewhere. She felt incredibly anxious. “Mom, Dad. Has Arion not woken up yet? Why is it taking so long? He’s okay, right?” she asked, nervously fidgeting with her thumbs.

“Papa hasn’t heard any updates from upstairs yet, dear,” Ethan replied calmly, glancing at his wife.

“Do you want to go check on Arion yourself?” Della offered to their daughter.

Emily remained silent, biting her lip. She was extremely worried about Arion’s condition, but she had made a decision last night.

“Or do you want to delay our departure until Arion recovers?” Della suggested.

“Yes, Em, why don’t we wait until Arion is better and talk things over properly? At least you can hear his side of the story,” Ethan added, almost making Emily waver.

“That’s impossible. If I see his smile and his eyes, I won’t be able to let go of his hand,” she thought.
