POV Griffin
I was pissed. More than pissed, I was livid. But under that anger was fear. What if something happened to her? What if she's hurt? What if she's kidnapped? What if she's running? What if she doesn't want me? What if she rejects me? So much fear.
I fucking hated fear.
"Where the hell could they be?" I demanded and my crew looked helplessly around the parking lot.
We had arrived at the school a few minutes ago, surprised to not see Jasmine's car anywhere. I was sure that they were headed to school.
"I don't know, boss. Why would they take off like that?" Dolph asked and I sighed.
I ran my hands through my hair as Nik took a closer look at me with suspicion in her eyes.
"What did you do, Griffin?" she asked.
She knows me too well.
"I may have told Lilly that she couldn't wear the skirt she was planning on wearing." I replied, sheepishly.
"Told?" Nik pushed.
I cringed, "Dema
POV LillyJasmine and I hurried to our lockers and first period. Griffin and Cedric both smirked as they followed us in. Of course, Cedric sat next to Jasmine and Griffin sat next to me. I smiled at Griffin and he grinned back while Jasmine ignored Cedric and sighed. Cedric tried to get her attention for a moment and then gave up."Hey Griffin! Guess what?" Cedric called over our heads.Griffin looked surprised but looked over and shrugged."What ?" He replied."My class schedule got changed. I have all the same classes as you. Isn't that strange?" Cedric continued. I looked over to Jasmine in shock. She looked livid. That meant that Cedric would have all the same classes as us too. "Asshole." Jasmine mumbled and I nodded in agreement."I'm sorry, did you say something, Beloved?" Cedric asked with a grin. I gasped. I had no idea what was about to go down but I had a feeling that it
POV LillyAs we walked the hallways, I realized that we were a bit early for lunch and most of the classes hadn't gotten out yet. The hall was deserted. I looked over to see Jasmine furrowing her eyebrows at something or someone. I followed her eye line to see Ember with her back to us, leaning on some lockers. I frowned as we got closer. It looked like she was crying."Ember? Are you okay?" I asked softly. She looked startled and jumped a bit when she caught sight of us. She quickly wiped her eyes and chuckled."Oh, of course. Your men are all pissed off that you three went AWOL." she tried to defer but I shook my head."Come on, Ember. I know that you don't know us very well yet but we want to help. We want to be your friends." Jasmine tried.Ember looked at us in disbelief."Even if I told you that Cedric told me what you are? Do you want to still be friends? Knowing that my kind brutally used yours? That I c
POV GriffinWe all walked back to the table and sat by our mates while Dolph stood in hesitation for a moment. He examined Cedric and Ember carefully as he stood there. I could see his jaw clench when he realized how close both of them were to Lilly. Lilly saw him and smiled at him brightly. She seemed to think for a moment and then she nodded for me to move down and pulled a chair between her and Jasmine. Jasmine looked at her in alarm but relaxed when she looked into Lilly's eyes."Dolph! Will you sit by Jasmine and I? Please?" Lilly asked. Dolph looked startled and glanced at me. I nodded and he grinned and hurried to take the seat. He looked so pleased and proud of himself. It warmed my heart and I grinned at Lilly, knowing that she was making a special effort to make sure he felt included."So what were you two troublemakers up to all morning? Skipping school?" Dolph shook his head."Here I though that you two wou
POV GriffinI hurried to change and rushed out to the gym with Theo and Dolph. I took a seat on the bleachers next to Cedric who was talking to Axel and Stone about something. I looked around to see a few girls already out but none of them were Lilly, Jasmine or Nik so I didn't pay them any attention. The gym seemed louder today for some reason."What are you planning on doing with Lilly this afternoon?" Theo asked.I shrugged, "I was going to take her out to eat and then to the river. You know, maybe show her around the town. She hasn't been able to see much of it yet." I replied and he nodded."When are you going to introduce her to the pack?" Dolph asked."I have to talk to Dad about that. It'd be easier to introduce Rose at the same time. Hell, we might as well introduce the whole family then." I answered."Wait, what? Why would you introduce Jasmine and her mother to the pack? They aren't any part of
POV LillyThe next period felt strange without Griffin and Cedric. Luckily Axel and Dolph stuck by us and kept us entertained. They were both hilarious and I was glad to see Dolph getting along with Axel. I could tell that Vampires made Dolph nervous.Jasmine and I both felt a bit bad about how the football game went down. We were just so upset about Griffin and Cedric being overprotective. We wanted to show them that we could take care of ourselves. "I can't believe that move you did, Lilly! It was awesome!" Dolph laughed."Or the way Jasmine took down Mark? It was perfect! Did you see his face?" Axel added. The two of them were enjoying the situation far too much. I shrugged and Jasmine rolled her eyes and chuckled."You'd think that they'd learn not to underestimate us by now." Jasmine muttered and I agreed. The only reason we went so hard was because we saw Cedric and Griffin telling Dolph and Axel to "watc
POV GriffinI just laughed as Lilly glared at me. I pulled her over to my bike and put my helmet on her. She reluctantly got on the back of my bike in a bit of a daze and I took off, leaving most of the students staring at us in disbelief. I understood their stares. I was well known as a player. To the humans, it made no sense that I would suddenly fall for the new girl especially so quickly. To the Werewolves and Vampires, I had announced countless times that I would reject any mate and continue my player ways so to act so suddenly and rashly was shocking. But she wasn't just any mate. She was MY mate. She was special. She was perfect... at least for me. I couldn't even think about rejecting her. She was mine.I smiled in satisfaction as she held my waist closely. She cuddled into my back and I couldn't remember a time when I felt so peaceful and happy. Just my girl and me on my bike, going wherever the
Lilly POVI glared at Griffin as I answer the call. I know that this is going to be awful. Chance is going to kill me. He was a bit... protective, always had been even before and after we dated." Hey Chance! Good timing. I need to tell you something..." I began but he cut me off."WHAT. THE. FUCK. LILLY?!!" Chance spat and I cringed.Crap. I'm screwed." Oh, so you've heard..." I replied, faintly, glancing at Griffin who is looking enraged."Why did Evan and I just get a message from the Alpha of the Savage Pack that you and your family will be coming to the wedding with them? And then he added that you're bringing Vampires too? What the hell is going on? " he roared.I winced at his tone and Griffin snatched the phone away from me before I could stop him."You need to fucking watch how you speak to my mate." Griffin growled into the phone.I dropped my head back on the seat
POV GriffinLilly smirked at me and then checked the clock."I'm going to go shower and then pack. You better get dressed before Jasmine comes home." she said and I looked at the clock. It was a little after ten and I remembered that I needed to call Evan. I quickly pulled my boxers and pants on and found a new shirt in my bag as I threw the other one in the laundry basket in her room."Yeah. I need to call Evan. Do you have his number?" I asked Lilly after she gathered her clothes. In a breathtaking show of trust, she grabbed her phone, unlocked it and handed it to me."Yeah. It's in my contacts under Alpha Evan." she replied as she walked to the bathroom.Shocked, I looked down at the phone for a moment. She left me alone with her unlocked phone in my hand! I quickly looked in her contacts and found his number. I put it into my phone and saved it. I paused for a moment, tempted to go through her
POV LillyI groaned as I woke up and looked around to see Griffin smiling down at me. All the memories from the night before came back and I blushed as he smirked and chuckled."How are you feeling?" he drawled and I glared at him."Sore?" he guessed and I nodded.I looked down to see that I had Griffin's boxers and tank on since we had run to the bathroom before sleeping. He quickly slipped on his pants."Let's go eat." I suggested."Okay but you should at least put on your bra." he recommended and I realized that he was right.
POV LillyI woke up to see Griffin sleeping soundly next to me, arms wrapped protectively around my waist. I smiled at him, admiring his handsome features. I knew he was awake when a moment later, he made a ugly face at me and pulled me into my chest."You sleep okay, baby?" he whispered into my hair and I nodded."Good." He looked at me and sighed."I know today is going to be difficult. Just please know that I will always be here for you. You and your family are not alone." He said."Thanks, Griff." I whispered and he grinned.I unwrapped his arms an
POV GriffinAfter we changed and got ready, Dad, Dolph, Nik, Theo, Penny and I piled into the limo. We picked up Cedric and Ember at the coven house and then stopped to get Lance at his house. Chance and Evan weren't going to make it to the dinner but they said would be joining us in the morning. As we headed to pick up Lilly, Jasmine and Rose, we looked at each other."So we need to watch over these three at all times this weekend. This is a lot for them to deal with along with so many coming to mourn with them. It's bound to be overwhelming. I know that we are all grieving but they are feeling so much more than any of us. We have to be there for them and for each other, agreed?" Dad began and we all nodded."I'm going to be honest, I have no idea what to expect during the ceremony or celebration. It's their ritual and we must honor and respect it. It's fine if we don't want to participate but we must be respectful no matter what" h
POV LillyAfter dinner, we packed up and left. Hugging all our new and old friends good bye even though we would see them all in less than a week. The trip home was uneventful and the rest of the week passed quickly.Jasmine and I were excused from school due to the death in our family. The other's went and were busy the rest of the time with preparations for Iris's funeral. Despite all that needed to be done, Griffin, Cedric and Skol spent every night at our house. They also provided bodyguards for us at all times, whether we wanted them or not. We had one vamp and two werewolves with us always. It was annoying but they did their best not to bother us.We spent the first part of the week making the potions needed for Iris's ceremony and gathering the pr
POV GriffinI was beyond pissed, I was livid. How dare this mutt try to take my mate! I loved Lilly and no one could stand between us. I was already enraged with Chance over Lilly almost dying for him but now? Now, I was going to tear him apart. I might let him live for Lilly's sake but you better believe that he was in for a world of hurt.I looked over at Lilly as Chance approached and felt sorry for her. This was a terrible situation for her. I was sorry that it had come to this but I also knew that it needed to be done. In a way, I was relieved when Chance challenged me. At least now we could get it all out in the open.I knew that he wanted my mate. I knew from the second I saw him look at her. The fact that she saved him just made him want her more, especia
POV LillyI was surprised to hear that we needed to discuss the Blood Venom pack. I had assumed that the pack was completely wiped out. Unfortunately, I was out voted and we had to go have lunch before it could be discussed. I sighed, knowing that Griffin was going to be a pain in my ass about eating something.I wasn't trying to be difficult, I just wasn't in the mood to eat. Could you blame me with everything I had gone through? I knew that Griffin was right, though. I didn't need to get weak or sick, especially now. I sighed as I sat next between Griffin and Dolph. Dolph. That was another issue. What was that all about? Why was he so attached to me? Why did I feel safer and calmer around him? It was all too much. Lunch was a quiet and tension filled event. As
POV GriffinI spent most of the night watching over Lilly as she slept in my arms. I couldn't stop holding or looking at her yet. Part of me still didn't believe that she was here and alive and safe. I buried my face in her neck gently to not wake her.I was still upset about how she saved Chance. I was trying to let it go but part of me was livid that she made that choice. That she sacrificed herself. My wolf half was frustrated with her and so was I but we knew that there was nothing we could do about it. We had to move forward and we had to heal.Jasmine, Rose and Lilly were safe and unharmed but in body only. Emotionally and mentally, they were broken. I still don't know that whole story of the what happened in the basement. I know that some of Evan's pack me
POV LillyI was in a daze. I had no idea what was going on any longer. I remembered finishing with Curtis and then crying over Aunt Iris. Then Griffin picked me up and I just let go. I knew that he would keep me safe so I tuned out. When I came to, we were in a room in Evan's pack house sitting on a bed and Griffin was washing blood off my face with worry in his eyes. He gently rubbed my face with the cloth, wringing the water and blood from it occasionally into a bowl on the nightstand."There, that's better, right, baby?" he whispered and I nodded, my eyes clearing. He gave a sigh of relief when I made eye contact with him."There you are." he breathed and p
POV JasmineI heard my mother's scream for Lilly as my Aunt Rose was working at freeing me. She was having a hard time with my shackles. I looked over in horror to see Lilly fall down as Chance opened his eyes and I knew what she had done. She had done what we had warned her over and over about. I gasped at the blood coursing down her cheeks from her eyes. She had used the last of her magic to save Chance. She was dying. My mother looked over at me as she caught Lilly and my mom smiled and nodded with a look of peace. Mom grabbed Lilly and whispered something. I saw light flash between them and my mother slump down. I looked on in horror as my Mother gave Lilly all her magic in one second. I knew that if we didn't reach her in a few seconds, there would be nothing we could do. Her face was already covered in tears of blood."Rose! Take care of my child!" Mom yelled as Rose finally got me fre
