According to the plot the Su Zhinian, the male lead, discovers that he has entered the final stage of his life and would love no more than a month. And thus he intends to break all his ties with Xia Reqing, for her own good. But Xia Reqing is unaware of his condition; realising that she is loosing her love just like her dream she falls down on her knees to convince him to stay. This was one of those many segments which made the reader cry and so, had it's own importance.
