The Alpha had just woken up after being in a meeting with different officials all night when the Beta’s son rushed inside his chamber after he gave the order to let him in.
“What are you doing in the palace so early?” he asked, scratching his eyes while yawning loudly. The sleep he got was not enough and it was still taking a toll on him.
He rushed to kneel on his left leg as a form of respect with his left hand resting on his right leg before announcing, “The princess is nowhere to be found”. At the mention of the princess, the sleep flew away from the eyes of the Alpha.
He sprang up, kicking his blanket away as he almost stumbled, “What do you mean the princess is nowhere to be found? How did she get out of the palace? What of her guards?” he screamed. “I heard she told them not to follow her, she took out the guards at the gate when they tried to stop her. She left at dawn but she haven’t come back till now and it’s getting pretty late” Remy explained and a loud growl emerged from the boiling Alpha.
“Look for her right now! Make sure you look for her with every soldiers available in the palace. Bring her back to me intact, not even a hair on her head must be hurt” he ordered and Remy rushed out to carry out his command.
They searched for her day and night for three days but couldn’t find any trace of her. They were about to go back since they didn’t want to enter the territory of another pack when they heard a sound coming from the forest. It was the time Freya had plucked the pawpaw from the tree and smashed it against a stone.
She was busy going at the pawpaw hungrily as they snuck up on her. Before she could realize what was going on, they had surrounded her and fear gripped her. She was scanning the environment, looking for the perfect place to escape when they all bowed in front of her.
“My Princess” they saluted and the pawpaw dropped to the floor. What was this sudden homage? What are they talking about? She is a princess?.
She blinked several times and slowly stood to her feet. “I think you have gotten the wrong person, I am not the princess, what are you talking about?” she remarked as she slowly moved back when she saw that their heads were bowed.
With a flash speed, she took off and dashed into the bush but she didn’t run far before a hand grabbed her suddenly from the back. She screamed so loud both in shock and fear but he hugged her suddenly making the noise cease from her throat even though her mouth was still opened.
“My princess, let’s return home now. Your father is worried” Remy said to her calmly and she was confused about what he meant by that.
She slowly detached herself from the hug to get a better view of the person hugging her, it was a face she had never seen in her life. Although he was a stranger, she couldn’t help but notice his handsome features. He has a droopy nose, deep philtrum and a cupid bow upper lip. His tubercles were a bit dry but it was still attractive, and his eyebrows were averagely thick, what a handsome man he is but that was the least of her concerns right now.
“I am not the princess, I don’t know what you are talking about” she protested and he raised his brows to make a sense out of what she was saying.
“What do you mean you are not the princess?” he queried and she sighed “I ran away from..” she was halfway through her response when she collapsed but he was fast enough to catch her before she fell to the ground.

Series of lights rushed into my eyes and they were almost blinding when I woke up. The roof of the room was so high and the aura I was getting from the room was surely different from anywhere I have ever been. I rolled to my side and my eyes landed on a huge book shelf, I glanced around to see a table and chair at another corner, a big soft ball on the right side and every other random things. Whatever was going on, I still couldn’t understand. I draped down the huge bed and started checking out what was in the room when a slightly familiar thick voice cut through my tour. “You are awake” Remy remarked and I turned with immediate effect to see him standing at my back.
I quickly moved to his side to continue the conversation earlier, everyone needs to know that I’m not the princess. The situation I found myself was so absurd that I didn’t even know how to explain myself or convince this man in front of me insisting that I am the princess.
“I don’t know exactly what is going on but I am not the princess, you must have mistaken me for another person but I am just a girl who ran away from home” I tried hard to explain but he only nodded. “Running away must have been the last thing you could remember” he blurt out as he moved away from my front and walked to the bedside. “The doctor already said that the sudden situation you found yourself must have been shocking that you temporarily lost your memory but don’t worry about that, you will regain it soon” he added and I couldn’t take his stubbornness anymore.
Anger rushed through me as I marched to him to tug his cloth with fury, “Who are you to tell me I lost my memories? I told you times without number that I am not the princess but you kept insisting without listening to me. I am not the princess, I am a stranger” I shouted at him and he turned to face me properly.
“Do you recognize me? What is my name? What am I to you?” he asked and my mouth shrunk into an irritating expression, “How do you think I will know the name of a stranger? I have never seen you in my entire life so why would I know you?” I shouted in anger and he shrugged “The doctor was right”.
“Who exactly is the doctor that told you so? I am alright! You are the one not listening to me because of your stubborn head!” I yelled and took a pause to let out a breath before continuing my lashing. “I don’t know what is going on here and with the princess but I…” I stopped to point a finger at my chest, “I am not the princess, I only ran away from home when you caught me” I finalized and he just smiled.
He walked close to me and placed his hands on my shoulder, “Julia, I understand how much you hate the palace and you want to run away. I am sorry for not taking care of you well that you even thought of running away but this is not it. I am sorry for making you go through this terrible memory loss but I promise that you will recover soon” he lovingly said to me that I almost fell for his words for a second.
I almost believed that I was indeed the lost princess but I quickly snapped at him to get his hands off me. “I am not the one you are looking for” I insisted before collapsing all of a sudden.
I woke up again after an hour to see that I was still in the same room. I jumped to my feet before yelling at Bea “What do you think you are doing? Why would you make me pass out like that?” but she only yelled back at me “Why wouldn’t I do that when you were so loud and wouldn’t listen to me? If they say you are the princess then so be it. Do you have any other alternative? Do you even know where you are or where you will go after this? Just enjoy yourself. It’s not bad to be a princess after all” which made my shoulders drop.
“But..” I began and the huge doors flew open to reveal a huge man with a bunch of white hair attached to his chin and all around his mouth. His presence was overwhelming and his eyes were deep blue, making me tremble as my eyes flickered at every steps he took.
“Who is this again” I thought to myself but was quickly helped out when the maids greeted him “My Alpha”.
“The Alpha?” I blurt out and quickly covered my mouth.
The wedding morning came and everyone was filled with smiles and joy as they danced to the bride’s room to help her dress up and usher her out. Aria and Anais came very early to help with necessary things but Kimble directed them to Freya’s room.“Help her dress up on time, the wedding will start soon” she told them and they rushed to her room but was greeted by an empty room. “Is she taking her bath?” Anais wondered and matched to the bathroom but she was nowhere to be found.Fear gripped them as they started ransacking everywhere to look for her. They quickly alerted her parents and the search party began, everyone was looking for her at one corner or the other but she was not in sight. For good two hours, everyone keep searching every possible place she might be but it was a futile effort. Her mother was puzzled about whatever might have happened, different scenario was playing in her head but the wedding was the least of her concerns right now, she needed for find her child. “She
I cannot deny that I am not exhausted with all these new faces but I began to adapt faster than I had thought I would. The strange face that barged into my room without courtesy was apparently my elder brother. How can a brother be so full of spite? Well that’s because he’s my step-brother.With the way I and Bea scanned him, he was a bitter and wicked person to the princess so they didn’t get along. He must have been happy that she was lost but now that she came back, he failed at hiding his bitterness of her return. I could deduce immediately that he’s someone I need to beware of, with the look on his face, he’s an enemy of the lost princess.“You are really back” he blurt with a scoff that expressed bitterness. My eyes rolled unintentionally at the absurdity of his first sentence to someone who was lost and I didn’t know when “What is it? Are you not happy that your plan didn’t work?” flew out of my mouth and he raised his brows to counter my claim.Did I say something I shouldn’t
Kimble still haven’t given up over the disappearance of her daughter. She was always going through every streets and corners to see if she would come across her but all was to no avail. She even went to visit Aria and Anais in order to interview them if Freya had discussed anything about running away or voiced her displeasure for the wedding she was supposed to have with Emory.“She had never discussed running away with us. She was all happy and grinning about the wedding when she was telling us about it so there was no displeasure she expressed about it. Even when we told her that she was being too obvious about it, she only said that was because she was happy getting married to the one she loves and will continue to love till her last breathe” Anais explained.Aria supported the claim by narrating how she told her about the thrill of living as Emory’s wife, the respect and how she will be able to support him officially from behind since she will be his wife by then. “She had never f
“You need to get ready for the party my princess” he announced and I scrunched my nose in disgust. So annoying! I stood up and turned to face him, I could not bear the fact that he was around me. He is just like a shadow to me and would not budge from my side no matter how harsh I was to him. I understand that he is my mate but then he should have other things he’s attending to, why is he always in my chambers every moment of the day? “And if I don’t feel like going? You cannot force me to a party that I don’t want to attend” I protested with my hands in akimbo as I rolled my eyes at the same time. He silently motioned to the maids and they rushed to my side, “We are sorry my princess but you need to get prepared” they told me and I was still about to ask if they were on my side or that of our annoying handsome man when they grabbed each hand and pulled me to the mirror where they began to attend to my hair and face. “What are you both doing? I don’t want to go anywhere so leave me
Emory was busy sulking alone in his room after the second round of soldiers came back from the search and brought him the news of no hope. He paced up and down the room as the memories they had both shared flowed through his mind, he was weighed down with sadness and he knew that with the continuous news of no hope, he might never get to see his beloved mate anymore. Everything was tiring to him and nothing interested him anymore, he could see the last night they saw together vividly in his head. She had cried her heart out in front of him while pleading for mercy but he was too livid to hear anything from her. She did break the entire trust he had in her, he was disappointed in her secret that he had found out. He didn’t even mean all the things he had said to her but he regretted every bit of it because he couldn’t stop blaming himself about how it might have led to her disappearance. “I shouldn’t have pushed her away that night, I shouldn’t have been so harsh to her like that. I di
FREYA’S POV The party started and we were graced with series of dancers, singers and every other entertaining troops who had come to welcome me, the fake princess back to the palace. I watched every performances in happiness and I enjoyed everything was being displayed so much that I was carried away in the atmosphere, I didn’t even realize that Remy was staring at me from the side of his father. He kept staring and stealing glances at regular intervals but I didn’t notice until I turned to the side to check the people in the hall once again and our eyes met. I mouthed a “Why are you looking me?” towards him but he just bowed instead and faced the troop in front making me wonder why he was looking in the first place. The performances were finished and the Alpha rose up to welcome everyone at the gathering. “This is just a way of appreciating the moon goddess who had brought my princess back in peace, hale and hearty back to the palace. Also, this is to thank everyone who had helped t
REMY’S POV Hailey and Lacey rushed to open every door in the way as I carried the princess on my back to her room. They quickly opened the duvet and I finally dropped her on the bed, a deep sigh escaped my throat as I stared at the drunk princess who was busy nibbling on her tongue as if she was scratching it. With my hands in Akimbo, I kept staring at her while wondering why she took on such a crazy challenge when she didn’t even have to. It is not a new thing that her brother, Bain always put her in a difficult situation but she had never behaved this recklessly and when did she started drinking this well? From what I could remember, she has a little tolerance for alcohol. “Make sure you prepare a warm honey water for her when she wakes up and also change her clothes. Also wipe her neck and face with wet towels so she won’t reek hard in the morning” I instructed her maids and they bowed to the order before they rushed out to carry what I asked of them. I turned to check up on her
Heavy footsteps were heard in a huge yard as some men dressed in military uniforms marched around the laid down lines in an organized manner. Their guns were gummed tightly to their side with their faces straight and stern, the only voice heard is that of the commander who was yelling each command at the top of his voice. They dare not miss any command or fall behind so they were all in sync, their bodies moving at the same time and pace. It was obvious that it was a normal routine that wasn’t even strange to any of them at that point, at the sound of a loud and long whistle, they sped off to the end of the track as if their lives depended on it. “If you come in last, there is no food for you this morning” the one commanding growled as he watched them run for their lives. At the sound of a familiar voice, the commander turned to see Emory walking closer to him. “You are really scary like I have heard, they are all doing fine with your intense training” he remarked, watching them spe
I also started taking some lessons about the pack and the palace etiquettes too so I wasn’t idle. I postponed the training session till he would be done with his exams. I didn’t want to serve as a disturbance even though he wouldn’t count it as one but I couldn’t hold it anymore one day and went to visit him in the library. I had taken my time to make him the honey biscuit snacks that he said was his favorite and marched to the library on the last day of his preparation. He was to take the exams the following day outside the pack where his teachers would be examining him in different aspects. “Hey!” I called out to him and waved with a big smile at the library’s door One could tell from his face that suddenly brightened up that he was so happy to see me “How is it going? Are you getting the hang of it?” I asked and walked in “I am trying my best” he sighed. His eyes were a bit puffy and swollen, he had been reading nonstop and it was easy to tell that his sleeping schedule had be
“Did I love Julia truly?” he asked again and I kept my gaze, waiting for his answer“I did love her but I wouldn’t say as much as I love you. When we were mated, I told her that I wouldn’t do it since I couldn’t feel the attraction even though we were mates and she told me to just pretend. She said she didn’t mind all the love and all that as long as I can protect her and also help her out in her missions. Since I didn’t hate her too, I just accepted and we had no problem. I did all she asked for and I never pressured her, I waited by her side for five years to see her decision which she recently made by rejecting me” he answered without breaking the gaze lock we hadA sigh dropped from me at what he said and I stepped back. His eyes wondered in confusion but I ignored that and just swept my hair back in anger.“That brat! How dare she use you and discard you that way? I mean you are everything a lady could ever ask for! You protect, help, guide and guard! You listen well, you are han
For months, I wasn’t allowed to step out of the house without adequate protection. My dramatic parents even hired guards to follow me out anytime I had to something outside the house. At the end of the fifth month, I had to fight them about it and told them that I was strong enough to defend myself and they eventually withdrew the guards. That afternoon, I was in the house knitting in my free time when the door to my room opened“I have to deliver some sweaters but I am tired right now. I will take them there in the evening” My mother said to me as she came inside my room to check up on me since I was there all day“Give them to me. I will deliver them on your behalf” I proposedShe was excited at my offer, it was the reason why she was there obviously. She wanted me to go out on her behalf but didn’t want to tell me directly. The destinations I had to deliver the sweaters to, were far apart so it took some hours before I was done and came back home.My mother ran to tell me about the
I didn’t know what to say at first so I just continued staring at her till she spoke up.“Was the life in the palace bearable? It must not have been easy to pretend that you were the Princess” she finally askedI nodded my head twice, softly and responded. “It was a bit bearable. The doctor’s report gave me the pass I needed” “The doctor’s pass?” her brows curved in confusion“Yea. I woke up to get a report that I had lost my memories even though they were intact” I confirmed and a smile flashed through her lips“Doctor Dax haven’t stopped jumping into conclusions” she murmured but it was loud enough for me to hear“So I heard that you insisted on going back to your pack” she added and I confirmedA little time of silence followed as we both stared at each other without saying a word.“Why don’t you stay though? The palace is wide enough to contain us” she proposed but I only laughed and shook my head“I would have loved to do that but my place is not here. It would be awkward to sta
Uncle Anson found out from one of the soldiers that saw the Prince walking to the flower field and knew that he might have seen the vampire sucking the lad he captured for him. Immediately, he got in contact with the vampires’ side and told them that they have to strike unannounced because the Prince was already catching up on them. They had waited for the Prince to come back to the border and entered the pack unnoticed through the help of Uncle Anson who was in charge of the border. Unknown to them, the other side also had their plans ready so they weren’t caught unprepared. He had wanted to take over the pack with the help of the humans so he sold the captured wolves from other packs to the human world by letting them by through their own packs as a route for years and got money in return. The minister in the human world couldn’t help him since wolves were thousand times stronger than the humans but connected him with the vampire world who could help him out.Over the years, he had
JULIA’S POVEver since the day I told Freya about the plans of the vampire and what the minister said before we brought him to justice alongside the café owner that was involved in the wolfs trafficking, I started making plans about how to go back home. Two days after, Oneiros suddenly woke up in the midnight and told me that we needed to move the following morning because she could see ruins and danger on my pack. We were not prepared to leave yet but we had no choice to be on our way and there was no enough time to alert Freya.“I just hope that they are preparing hard over there” I sighed as I grabbed unto the small bag and slung it over my shoulder while I took Onieros by the hand“I know a shortcut to the werewolves’ packs. I am sure that we can find your pack easily when we get to one” Giles stated and I noddedI only planned for him to give me the directions and go back home since that meant our assignments with each other was done. We got to the last stop before my pack and we
FREYA’S POVI finally remembered that I had seen the currency from Uncle Anson and raced back to the library to tell Remy that I had found the place I saw it and told him where. He couldn’t process the reason why he would have it and tried to give excuses that it might have been a souvenir he received from the passing human merchants at the border but I was not convinced. It was too many to be tagged as a souvenir and I was sure there was something else fishy going on. He had too much pointing at him to be pure.“I think we need to include the Prince at this time. He needs to know what’s happening in the pack so we can all prepare” I suggested to Remy who in turn told me to calm down and find a solid evidence before taking a step since it involves the Alpha’s uncle“You know Julia also told me about the vampire plan. We have to alert the appropriate quarters as soon as possible. This fight cannot be won if fought silently” I insisted and right there, the Prince walked in on us“What f
I couldn’t sleep well after the Princess left because of what she said. It was what I had been waiting for all the days of my life but now that she mentioned it, I felt reluctant to leave. I was used to the palace and everyone around there, I was starting to know them and also build relationship with them, to be sincere, I was also in love with Remy even though I knew I shouldn’t do that.“I honestly do not know what to do” I sighed under the huge blanket and slowly drifted off to sleep after a long night of tossing and turning***The sun was high in the sky before I woke up thanks to my tiredness and I decided to spend each passing day meaningfully as from that morning. I drafted out everyone I wanted to spend each day with and what I wanted to do with and for them so I would have enough time to say a proper goodbye before the next Friday that the Princess would come back to my dreams.I got several bundles of yarn in different colors and sat inside all day, knitting several pieces
I knew that would be the next question they would ask and I was ready to provide the answer on the condition that none of them would make any move on Emory until I was ready to do so. From their talk, it was evident that he was now the acting Beta in place of his father and his governance was a bit ruthless. After telling the story of how I ran away and what happened between me and Ansel, their jaws were on the floor. They could not believe Emory could do all I had said because of how he pretended to love me unconditionally but actually had another plan for me.“You son of the devil! How could you do that her?” my mother growled and charged at Ansel who didn’t avoid her even though he could since he saw her coming. He probably didn’t dodge because he believed he deserved it.“It was not his fault. He was also blackmailed!” I shouted in defense and rushed to hold my mother backAfter all the ruse, she finally helped me treat the bite. “As much as I want to understand you, I hope you al
