Emory was busy sulking alone in his room after the second round of soldiers came back from the search and brought him the news of no hope. He paced up and down the room as the memories they had both shared flowed through his mind, he was weighed down with sadness and he knew that with the continuous news of no hope, he might never get to see his beloved mate anymore. Everything was tiring to him and nothing interested him anymore, he could see the last night they saw together vividly in his head. She had cried her heart out in front of him while pleading for mercy but he was too livid to hear anything from her. She did break the entire trust he had in her, he was disappointed in her secret that he had found out. He didn’t even mean all the things he had said to her but he regretted every bit of it because he couldn’t stop blaming himself about how it might have led to her disappearance.

“I shouldn’t have pushed her away that night, I shouldn’t have been so harsh to her like that. I di

FREYA’S POV The party started and we were graced with series of dancers, singers and every other entertaining troops who had come to welcome me, the fake princess back to the palace. I watched every performances in happiness and I enjoyed everything was being displayed so much that I was carried away in the atmosphere, I didn’t even realize that Remy was staring at me from the side of his father. He kept staring and stealing glances at regular intervals but I didn’t notice until I turned to the side to check the people in the hall once again and our eyes met. I mouthed a “Why are you looking me?” towards him but he just bowed instead and faced the troop in front making me wonder why he was looking in the first place. The performances were finished and the Alpha rose up to welcome everyone at the gathering. “This is just a way of appreciating the moon goddess who had brought my princess back in peace, hale and hearty back to the palace. REMY’S POV Hailey and Lacey rushed to open every door in the way as I carried the princess on my back to her room. They quickly opened the duvet and I finally dropped her on the bed, a deep sigh escaped my throat as I stared at the drunk princess who was busy nibbling on her tongue as if she was scratching it. With my hands in Akimbo, I kept staring at her while wondering why she took on such a crazy challenge when she didn’t even have to. It is not a new thing that her brother, Bain always put her in a difficult situation but she had never behaved this recklessly and when did she started drinking this well? From what I could remember, she has a little tolerance for alcohol. “Make sure you prepare a warm honey water for her when she wakes up and also change her clothes. Also wipe her neck and face with wet towels so she won’t reek hard in the morning” I instructed her maids and they bowed to the order before they rushed out to carry what I asked of them. I turned to check up on her

Heavy footsteps were heard in a huge yard as some men dressed in military uniforms marched around the laid down lines in an organized manner. Their guns were gummed tightly to their side with their faces straight and stern, the only voice heard is that of the commander who was yelling each command at the top of his voice. They dare not miss any command or fall behind so they were all in sync, their bodies moving at the same time and pace. It was obvious that it was a normal routine that wasn’t even strange to any of them at that point, at the sound of a loud and long whistle, they sped off to the end of the track as if their lives depended on it. “If you come in last, there is no food for you this morning” the one commanding growled as he watched them run for their lives. At the sound of a familiar voice, the commander turned to see Emory walking closer to him. “You are really scary like I have heard, they are all doing fine with your intense training” he remarked, watching them spe

For several days, Ansel was grounded at home with sickness because of the guilt eating him up, he was losing himself. He didn’t know it would backfire this much, he wouldn’t have done what he did. He was the center of whatever was happening to everybody because if he hadn’t raped her in the first place then she wouldn’t have a cause to run away, he wouldn’t lose his friend, the marriage would hold and everyone would be happy. He sighted Kimble, her mother along the street few days ago and all her eyes were sunken due to excess tears. She was looking haggard and lost with no sense of direction at all. He had to help her back home with the load she was carrying because she looked lifeless, everything was not pleasing to her, it was then he realized the extent of his crime because it dawned on him that he had snatched life away from the poor woman. She ranted for several minutes about what she would be doing at that time if she was around while he painfully sat through the sermon he didn

The idea of him coming into the bathroom when I was taking my bath was so ridiculous to me that I couldn’t help but be infuriated. I was planning to have a great and long bath since it was helping with my headache when he brought his troublesome self to my room without permission. What could be so important and urgent for him to charge at my bathroom? The lack of decency and respect is what I will not take even though I am dreading my identity being exposed and also, I couldn’t care less at that point, let the sky fall if it will.Hailey rushed quickly to my side, her mouth still hung open. She glanced at Prince Bain who clutched his hand to the slapped cheek in disbelief. “My Princess” she called out, her tone carrying the meaning that I shouldn’t have done that but I was not ready to hear any preaching from anyone about this action.I turned sharply to face her and Lacey, “What are you doing? Drag him out of my room” I yelled at them, fury dominating the innermost part of my eyes.S

PRINCE BAIN’S POV The slap I got from my younger sister was so humiliating that every cells in my body boiled hard. I really had to hold myself back then if not I would have smashed her into the wall. I was only looking out for her because father sent words that we should come together to the hall. I had forgotten for a tiny second that she had lost her memories so she probably might not remember that such a custom existed but then her maids should have explained to her before I got there. I thought she was only making excuses or trying to anger me just like how she does that’s why she buried herself in the bathroom under the guise of taking a bath so I was going to threaten her a little but it went out of hands. Ever since they have been getting into a brawl, she had never raised her hand at him even when he did something more infuriating that what happened earlier. Carefully rubbing his cheeks, he muttered to himself, “Did I go overboard back there? I didn’t even see anything and

Emory had moved on with life and was doing well at his duty post when the last batch of trackers he sent out came back empty handed. It was reported to him that although they searched to the borders of many packs, even almost into the human worlds, they couldn’t find her and he told them they could withdraw from the search. They had all done their bests after all. He had to deal with the fact that she would either come back home by herself someday or she would remain wherever she is and adapt to a new life. It was just heartbreaking that he would not be seeing her anymore or even if he has the chance, it would a time unknown to everyone, except the gods. He set up a farewell party for her in his room with a jar of liquor and the bracelet they both exchanged on their engagement day. As he was gulping down the alcohol, he was wondering why he could not even feel the mate bond, it neither went dead nor beat. It only lied dormant. If it was beating then he’d have an assurance that she wo

The leader entered with a big stride as she was already late for the meeting. She rushed in to find them being separated after the fight but just calmly went to have her seat and everyone rushed to find their too.Silence graced the room as they all waited for her to speak but she only sat there with her eyes closed. The wounded wolf was holding a scarf one of the members gave her to her neck in order to stop the bleeding while waiting for the next step. Finally the leader tapped the table and opened her eyes, pointed to the both of them to stand to their feet for their judgment.“We are already being mocked at enough and ridiculed but you both are fighting? This is the time when we should be more united than ever but you are pressing on each other’s neck instead. This is not what should be happening amidst us! What happened to talking everything out smoothly? Do you have to resolve to violence?” the leader scolded but Kimble could not take it again. She is naturally an easygoing pers

I didn’t want to serve as a disturbance even though he wouldn’t count it as one but I couldn’t hold it anymore one day and went to visit him in the library. I had taken my time to make him the honey biscuit snacks that he said was his favorite and marched to the library on the last day of his preparation. He was to take the exams the following day outside the pack where his teachers would be examining him in different aspects. “Hey!” I called out to him and waved with a big smile at the library’s door One could tell from his face that suddenly brightened up that he was so happy to see me “How is it going? Are you getting the hang of it?” I asked and walked in “I am trying my best” he sighed. “Did I love Julia truly?” he asked again and I kept my gaze, waiting for his answer“I did love her but I wouldn’t say as much as I love you. When we were mated, I told her that I wouldn’t do it since I couldn’t feel the attraction even though we were mates and she told me to just pretend. She said she didn’t mind all the love and all that as long as I can protect her and also help her out in her missions. Since I didn’t hate her too, I just accepted and we had no problem. I did all she asked for and I never pressured her, I waited by her side for five years to see her decision which she recently made by rejecting me” he answered without breaking the gaze lock we hadA sigh dropped from me at what he said and I stepped back. For months, I wasn’t allowed to step out of the house without adequate protection. My dramatic parents even hired guards to follow me out anytime I had to something outside the house. At the end of the fifth month, I had to fight them about it and told them that I was strong enough to defend myself and they eventually withdrew the guards. That afternoon, I was in the house knitting in my free time when the door to my room opened“I have to deliver some sweaters but I am tired right now. I will take them there in the evening” My mother said to me as she came inside my room to check up on me since I was there all day“Give them to me. I will deliver them on your behalf” I proposedShe was excited at my offer, it was the reason why she was there obviously. She wanted me to go out on her behalf but didn’t want to tell me directly. I didn’t know what to say at first so I just continued staring at her till she spoke up.“Was the life in the palace bearable? It must not have been easy to pretend that you were the Princess” she finally askedI nodded my head twice, softly and responded. “It was a bit bearable. The doctor’s report gave me the pass I needed” “The doctor’s pass?” her brows curved in confusion“Yea. I woke up to get a report that I had lost my memories even though they were intact” I confirmed and a smile flashed through her lips“Doctor Dax haven’t stopped jumping into conclusions” she murmured but it was loud enough for me to hear“So I heard that you insisted on going back to your pack” she added and I confirmedA little time of silence followed as we both stared at each other without saying a word.“Why don’t you stay though? The palace is wide enough to contain us” she proposed but I only laughed and shook my head“I would have loved to do that but my place is not here. It would be awkward to sta

Uncle Anson found out from one of the soldiers that saw the Prince walking to the flower field and knew that he might have seen the vampire sucking the lad he captured for him. Immediately, he got in contact with the vampires’ side and told them that they have to strike unannounced because the Prince was already catching up on them. They had waited for the Prince to come back to the border and entered the pack unnoticed through the help of Uncle Anson who was in charge of the border. Unknown to them, the other side also had their plans ready so they weren’t caught unprepared. He had wanted to take over the pack with the help of the humans so he sold the captured wolves from other packs to the human world by letting them by through their own packs as a route for years and got money in return. The minister in the human world couldn’t help him since wolves were thousand times stronger than the humans but connected him with the vampire world who could help him out.Over the years, he had

We were not prepared to leave yet but we had no choice to be on our way and there was no enough time to alert Freya.“I just hope that they are preparing hard over there” I sighed as I grabbed unto the small bag and slung it over my shoulder while I took Onieros by the hand“I know a shortcut to the werewolves’ packs. FREYA’S POVI finally remembered that I had seen the currency from Uncle Anson and raced back to the library to tell Remy that I had found the place I saw it and told him where. He couldn’t process the reason why he would have it and tried to give excuses that it might have been a souvenir he received from the passing human merchants at the border but I was not convinced. It was too many to be tagged as a souvenir and I was sure there was something else fishy going on. He had too much pointing at him to be pure.“I think we need to include the Prince at this time. He needs to know what’s happening in the pack so we can all prepare” I suggested to Remy who in turn told me to calm down and find a solid evidence before taking a step since it involves the Alpha’s uncle“You know Julia also told me about the vampire plan. We have to alert the appropriate quarters as soon as possible. This fight cannot be won if fought silently” I insisted and right there, the Prince walked in on us“What f

I couldn’t sleep well after the Princess left because of what she said. It was what I had been waiting for all the days of my life but now that she mentioned it, I felt reluctant to leave. I was used to the palace and everyone around there, I was starting to know them and also build relationship with them, to be sincere, I was also in love with Remy even though I knew I shouldn’t do that.“I honestly do not know what to do” I sighed under the huge blanket and slowly drifted off to sleep after a long night of tossing and turning***The sun was high in the sky before I woke up thanks to my tiredness and I decided to spend each passing day meaningfully as from that morning. I drafted out everyone I wanted to spend each day with and what I wanted to do with and for them so I would have enough time to say a proper goodbye before the next Friday that the Princess would come back to my dreams.I got several bundles of yarn in different colors and sat inside all day, knitting several pieces

I knew that would be the next question they would ask and I was ready to provide the answer on the condition that none of them would make any move on Emory until I was ready to do so. From their talk, it was evident that he was now the acting Beta in place of his father and his governance was a bit ruthless. After telling the story of how I ran away and what happened between me and Ansel, their jaws were on the floor. They could not believe Emory could do all I had said because of how he pretended to love me unconditionally but actually had another plan for me.“You son of the devil! How could you do that her?” my mother growled and charged at Ansel who didn’t avoid her even though he could since he saw her coming. He probably didn’t dodge because he believed he deserved it.“It was not his fault. He was also blackmailed!” I shouted in defense and rushed to hold my mother backAfter all the ruse, she finally helped me treat the bite. “As much as I want to understand you, I hope you al
