72. My newborns.

Months later.......

My stomach tightened again with a powerful contraction, and I squeezed Dominic's hand until my knuckles turned white. Despite the searing pain, I shot him a withering glare.

"You did this to me...again!" I growled through gritted teeth. Sweat beaded on my brow as the cresting wave finally subsided.

Dominic had the sense to look somewhat chagrined, though a proud gleam still danced in his eyes. "You're bringing our children into this world, my mate. Our perfect little miracles."

"Easy for you to say," I spat, leaning back against the propped clinic bed. "You don't have to push two tiny werewolves out of your body!"

As if on cue, another crushing contraction seized me. I clutched at the sheets, a feral cry of agony tearing from my throat. The healers bustled around urgently, offering words of encouragement that fell on deaf ears.

"You're doing so well, Freya," Dominic murmured, smoothing the damp hair from my face. "Our family is almost here."
