Much to Amara's disappointment, their meal did not take as much time as she had hoped. Too soon Amara found herself in the training room within the castle.

"Are you sure we should be doing this inside?" Amara asked. The room was quite large for a workout area, but she did not want to chance something going wrong.

"We may not even get to your first shift in the first session. But we do need to somehow awaken your wolf. The first would have been finding your mate and bonding. Have you felt anything new since then?" Damascus asked.

"Like hearing your thoughts in my head?" Amara asked. That had been enough of a shock on it's own.

"Kind of like that, but your wolf will have its own subconscious within your mind as well," Damascus tried to find the right words to explain to Amara. He was so far out of his element. With Dragons it was you and you alone, changing into the magnificent beast. There was no other inside your head.

"So, I will be sharing my mind with someone else?" Amara once

Damascus stood in the training room and watched as Amara left. He felt two inches tall as he thought about the emotions that had run through Amara before she left. "Fuck," Damascus said as he ran a hand through his hair. He paced for a moment and began to walk towards the door. His exit was halted when the door to the training room opened from the outside and Gabriel walked through instead. "Hey, D, what’s up?" Gabriel asked. He could see a painful expression on Damascus which was rare as Damascus usually kept his emotions well hidden. "I messed up with Amara," Damascus said plainly, not trying to hide behind a lie. If he was honest, he hoped for some advice from Gabriel as this was new for Damascus. "What happened?" Gabriel asked sincerely. He sat and listened as Damascus explained the situation with Amara. "Oh man," Gabriel said as Damascus finished. "Yeah, I know I messed up. The question is, how do I fix it?" he asked. "Well, you are going to have to keep apologizing until

"Amara," Damascus voice cut through Amara and Sona's conversation. They looked back at Damascus and waited. "I understand you are probably getting acquainted with your wolf, but you need to shift back, now," there was a level of urgency in his voice that had Amara concerned. "He is right," Sona agreed. "Sorry, this might hurt once more, but a bit less this time," Sona said. Amara could feel her wolf pulling back into the recesses of her mind and her body began to change once more. It hurt like hell, but Amara knew what she was in for. The pain was much less than the first time, but it still had Amara on all fours on the ground gasping for air. Damascus ripped his shirt from his body and quickly draped it over her head. Amara took a moment to realize it was the first time she was wearing his clothes. His smell enveloped her and helped to calm her breathing once more. Damascus kneeled next to her, half naked. His large frame and muscles rippled with every movement. "Are you alright?"

  • His Wingless Angel   Leaving

Damascus could clearly see that Amara's first shift had taken it out of her. As they were talking her eye lids began to drift close. Damascus pulled the large comforter up to her chin and kissed the top of her head before leaving the bedroom. Damascus needed to find Gabriel and let him know about Amara. Gabriel needed to know that there was far more to this. It almost seemed like it was one thing after another. Damascus walked to the library first to see if Gabriel was still inside. His knock was rewarded with a come in and Damascus pushed the door open. Gabriel still sat at his large desk with the table lamp on. He held two pieces of paper in each hand, but when he saw who his visitor was, he put the sheets down and folded his hands in front of him. "Were you able to apologize enough?" Gabriel asked regarding their earlier conversation. Damascus only nodded in answer as he walked to the chairs that sat across from Gabriel and dropped his weight into one of them. Damascus leaned h

  • His Wingless Angel   Can't Get Enough

"Leaving?" Amara was shocked to hear that Damascus, and the King had decided that they would leave the country."Yes, it would get you out of harm’s way until we can decide what needs to happen next," Damascus answered as he packed his bag. Amara was annoyed at how she had not included in the discussions. "I have work to do here, and I do not want to just leave Leslie here by herself," Amara tried to argue. "Since it was Gabriel's idea, I don't think he is going to hold some time off against you. As for Leslie, she will still be under the protection of the King and they will still be working to find her parents," Damascus countered back. He grabbed a stack of shirts and threw them in a satchel bag. Amara got up from the bed and walked over to him as he grabbed for a stack of jeans. She placed her hand on the clothes as he turned around to toss them in the bag along with the shirts. "I do not like decisions being made for me without my input," she said. "Noted," Damascus said curtl

The time passed too quickly for Amara. The next thing she knew Damascus and Amara were putting their bags into the back of a blacked out SUV. Damascus had wanted to take the bike but it was easier to carry their bags in a vehicle that had trunk space. Damascus would miss his bike for the time they had to spend away. He wondered if he would be able to find one in the UK to appease him. He looked over at Amara as she said goodbyes to Leslie. Amara hugged her friend and whispered something in her ear. Leslie nodded and smiled at Amara before pushing her towards the SUV and telling her to enjoy her time off. Amara only snickered in response. As if she was going on vacation. Damascus nodded his thanks to Leslie. She had helped Amara to see that this would be the best thing for now. Leslie nodded in answer and turned around to head back into the castle. She waved at the door once more and then closed it soundly behind her. Damascus slid into the driver’s seat and turned the SUV over. The

  • His Wingless Angel   Flight

Damascus saw the air strip from above and descended quickly. Just as he was landing with Amara, the stewardess ran out with a cover for Damascus. He shifted easily after laying Amara gently on the strip. He grabbed the blanket that was offered and scooped Amara back into his arms. "Let's go," Damascus said to the flight team as he boarded the small plane. The pilot and stewardess nodded and hustled to close the plane and ready to take off. Damascus walked down the aisle of the plane and put Amara down on the day bed near the back. The plane was a small business jet that the King kept for personal use. Damascus was thankful that they were able to control take off. Amara began to stir just as the plane took off from the ground. She groaned and rolled her head to the side. Damascus knelt beside her. He had changed into a spare suit that was kept on board for Gabriel. He had rolled up his sleeves and was just about to wipe the blood from Amara's head. The stewardess had handed him a b

Damascus gentle shook Amara awake. She had fallen asleep next to him on the plane. Amara jerked awake and took a moment to remember where they were. Luckily her head had stopped hurting and when she put her hand to her head she could no longer feel the cut. Whoa, she thought. "That is wolf healing for you," Sona chuckled. "Yeah, well fast healing or not, I would rather not make getting hurt a habit," Amara responded in her mind. "Not if I have anything to say about it," Sona responded. Amara smiled to herself at her wolf's response. "Are you alright?" Damascus asked when he returned from the front of the plane. "Fine," she said as she stood up. "You look good in a suit by the way," Amara said referring to his barrowed clothes from the plane. Damascus grimaced in response, which made Amara laugh. She knew that he much preferred his black shirts and jeans to the suits. When Damascus and Amara exited the plane, there was already a car waiting for them. Damascus walked over to the

The driver took Damascus and Amara to a string of shops not far from the castle. Amara was able to find a few different outfits, however Damascus had a harder time finding his usual attire of black shirt and jeans. The men's section held more button-up shirts and dress pants. Damascus discomfort was clearly written on his face as he walked through the store. Amara could help but give him a hard time. "I am sorry they do not have what you are used to wearing. Maybe you will find something that is just as comfortable," Amara suggested. Damascus looked at her with an appalled expression which made Amara laugh. Damascus rolled his eyes as he walked the remaining part of the store. In the very back they held suits, and everything needed. Which included some simple shirts for underneath, but they were not black but instead bright white. "Beggers can’t be choosers," Damascus muttered under his breath as he grabbed a few shirts and settle on a couple pairs of lax suit pants. They quickly ch

"Why would you help us take the throne back?" Henry asked. "It is your rightful place. Your child was stolen from you, my guess, in an attempt to do just that. Remove you both from the throne," Gabriel said. "Even if that were true, we have already relinquished the throne and a new King and Queen have taken over," Willa responded instead. "Do either of you know the condition of the Eternal Kingdom?" Gabriel asked. He assumed that they had been keeping tabs on the Kingdom, but then again, they were far enough outside of it that they might not. "It was made clear that we were no longer welcomed by my cousin and his wife," Henry answered."Cousin? Why did I not know that?" Gabriel asked himself more than Henry. "Distant cousin, but yes, Alexander Bardin is in fact a cousin of mine," Henry said. "But they have yet to produce an heir," Gabriel said. He was still unsure of how they were able to take possession of the throne and keep it for as long as they have without having a child o

Leslie and Gabriel filed into a large SUV. There was already a driver and passenger in the vehicle which left the backseat for the two of them. Gabiel had told her that there was a good chance they had found her parents and wasted no time getting everything ready for them to leave. Leslie wondered why the King was going. It seemed like something that he could just send her and the team to go rather than risk him being away from the Kingdom for too long. "I feel really good about this," Gabriel said as he looked out the window. Leslie hadn’t realized that she was staring at him again. Leslie wondered if he had felt her eyes on him. "That makes one of us," Leslie said under her breath."Faith, Leslie. Faith," it was the first time she had heard her name on his lips, and it did something to her insides. They had spent a number of hours together the last few days and in that time she decided that she actually like the King. He was charming and funny. He always had a joke to spare. Lesl

King Christian had allowed Amara and Damascus the day to themselves, but he requested a meeting the following day. He had some questions, and he wanted answers. Amara and Damascus stood in his office. Each chose to stay rather than be seated in the chairs across from his desk. "First off I wanted to start by saying congratulations to the mum to be," King Christian said to Amara. She smiled a tight smile and nodded her head once. She wondered if the King was going to toss them out of the Kingdom after finding out the truth. That was if he had found out the truth. "Second of all, there has been another attempt at a breach on our territory line. The wolves seem very persistent in their goal of getting to you Miss Amara," King Christian was turned in her direction. He had yet to acknowledge Damascus other than when they had first walked in. "So, I am giving you the same opportunity that I have given to your mate. I want to know why they are so desperate to get to you. There must be a r

"What have you thought of our Kingdom so far?" Gabriel asked Leslie. "It is nice. All the people seem nice as well. Apart from their King picking out my lunch," Leslie said. She had more of a teasing tone so Gabriel knew that she wasn't actually upset about it. "He sounds like a real jerk if you ask me," Gabriel responded. Leslie chuckled. "Ill make sure to let him know," Leslie said. For some reason she found it easy enough to talk to him. Even though he was a King of a city full of Dragons. "Do you think Amara and Damascus made it to the UK alright?" Leslie asked. Gabriel wondered why Amara hadn’t checked in with Leslie yet. He didn’t think it was because of her news. "Damascus called me earlier. They made it safe and sound," Gabriel said, hoping it helped Leslie. She creased her brow that Damascus had reached out to Gabriel, but Amara had gone silent on Leslie. Was Amara mad at her for pushing her to go to the UK. Leslie hoped not. She itched to take out her phone and text her

"How would they have known where we were going?" Amara asked anxiously. Damascus had just told her about the wolves at the territory line. "Unfortunately, flight plans cannot be encrypted," Damascus explained. It was the only way that he had been able to explain that the pack was able to narrow down on where he and Amara had been headed. He knew the pilot and stewardess wouldn’t have said anything, but flight planes were easier to get a hold of if one knew where to go. "So, we are in the same situation as home. Why did we leave again?" Amara asked, her sarcasm was a coping mechanism, and she tried not to let it slip but she was worried about them being so far from the Divine Kingdom. She wasn’t sure about King Christian and how far he would be willing to help protect them. "It is still distance from the entire pack. The Alpha probably reached out to a pack here in the UK to scout it out," Damascus at least hoped that was the case. He had half a mind to just set the Crescent Moon pa

Damascus entered the room, but there was no sign of Amara. Damascus sense heightened and his heart rate picked up. He heard the shower running in the adjoining bathroom. He quickly walked over and tried the door. It was unlocked and he pushed through to check on Amara. Amara stood in the glass shower; she was washing her long blonde hair. She looked over her shoulder at Damascus but turned away and continued to message her scalp. Damascus stripped his clothes quickly and opened the glass door. His arms circled his waist and drew her closer to him. Even though Amara had been irritated when he left, some of her irritation had went down the drain along with the water. "Can you forgive me for my behavior tonight?" Damascus asked as he kissed her shoulder. "For which part exactly?" Amara asked not turning around. "All of it. From the way that I reacted like a jackass finding out you were pregnant and again after my nightmare," Damascus said. Yet again he had been so consumed by his ow

  • His Wingless Angel   More Secrets

Damascus spread his wings as he soared through the air. The breeze helped him to catch his breathing. He had felt trapped in the castle. He hated having to leave Amara, but he had not been able to regulate himself to keep her safe. The last thing he needed was to lose control and shift with her so close. Damascus flew through the air for a little while longer. As he descended to the ground once more, he noticed that a figure stood near his clothes where he had placed them on a bench near the back of the castle. Damascus landed but waited to shift back into his human form. The figure started walking towards him and when they finally came into the moonlight, he saw that it was the King himself. Damascus shifted and reached for his clothes. Once dressed he bowed towards the King. Damascus had not even considered the idea to ask before shifting. He was used to being able to do it as he pleased within his own Kingdom. "Apologies, your highness. I did not ask permission before taking to

  • His Wingless Angel   Innocent

Damascus knew that he was dreaming but it did not make the situation any less real in his mind. Amara and what he assumed was their child in her arms were trapped behind bars. Damascus was tied to a chair in the center of a filthy room. His breathing was labored as the faceless men around him took turns beating on his battered face and body. "Damascus," Amara cried. Damascus looked at her through his one eye that had not been closed shut from his face swelling. She cradled the child to her chest as she watched the men work over his body. Just then one of the faceless men bent over and blocked Amara from his view. "I told you that you were worthless. You couldn't even protect your mate and child," the man said. The voice was haunting familiar. His father. Damascus growled at the man and tried to lung for him. The man stood back and laughed at Damascus's failed attempts. "I may have been an asshole, but I never hid who I was. You, on the other hand, have her completely fooled. That

"Did you know?" Amara asked Sona out loud. "I am just as surprised as you are," her wolf answered. Amara's eyes burned with unshed tears. Damascus was not happy that much was clear. She hadn’t meant for this to happen. Each time they had been intimate he had pulled out from her. She wasn't completely naive she knew what he was doing, and it wasn’t as though she had wanted a child either. The gravity of the situation began to fall heavy on her shoulders until the crushing weight had Amara on the floor. She curled in a ball and let the tears fall freely.********************************************************************************************************************"What the fuck am I supposed to do?" Damascus practically screamed over the phone. He had asked King Christian if there was a phone he could use and immediately called Gabriel. "You left her up in the room on her own after finding out?" Gabriel asked. He sounded less than thrilled at how Damascus had reacted. "I can't
